This was the first HM boss that I really felt stuck on, but cleared it in two tries with your method. Feeding Red lvl 3 limit breaks was a genius strat!
thank you for this, i was banging my head against a wall for 3 hours on this boss, then duplicated your build and it works on the first or second attempt
Directions unclear. Followed exact build and took similar approach against the boss, but he focuses Red and takes him out of the fight immediately. Precision Defense is maxed but doesn't seem to help. Barret is too big and slow to get away from either drain attack and gets eliminated. I'm convinced Square hates these 2 and decided to give them the worst fights in the game.
Either im just bad with Barrett and red, or they gave Barrett and Red the dumbest fights. The only bosses ive gotten stuck on thus far in hard mode has been mythril golem, dyne and now gi natakk. It does help that im lazy and stuborn and dont wanna redo my materia and equipment for just 1 friggen fight.
@@Cman04092 Completely agreed, it's baffling they didn't have a "Save Materia Setup" option. Every game nowadays with lots of customization on each party member should have something like that.
I don't really get why they forced you to only use 2 party members for it. In general, it's really dumb how the game never gives you choice over your team in a majority of the boss fights.
You can argue entities from Outer World, cause I’ll fully admit that some people just seem to be better at that then others. But no way you think this is worse than Bonds of Friendship.
Goid video, Honestly though i stopped after i hit this fight, "lets take away all item use including crafted and just make the vosses flail out more" Square is a joke, glad that elden dlc is here for an actual challenge that doesn't require 80% luck
@DootiBooty its not about having a life or not, its just that some games hard mode are actually hard like in rebirth and even here its not hard you just need to figure out your materia setup. Oh and dont get me started on elden ring, that shit is nowhere near challenging considering theres a shit ton of op things in that game to make your life easier
And to be fair i havent missed items in hard mode, considering i only used healing potions and Phoenix down which are now replaced by cure and revive spells. You just need to watch ur mp because you cant refill it but hey that's what hard is all about. Resource management

This worked, but I had to replace First Strike with Time magic to stop him when staggered.

I think you should redo materia since there’s only 1 boss in that chapter.

I also hate redoing materia but you gonna be getting 5,4 then 4 bosses in the upcoming chapters.

Rufus is incredibly cheap, and unlike the first time, the timing to hit him with Braver is ridiculously tight now.
