I was at the Columbia University campus on the night of April 30. I went in honor of my beloved departed sister Raquel who was an early childhood teacher for over 35 years, and who was emphatically against the murder of Palestinian children. I went in solidarity of the Columbia students, was shocked and horrified to witness the massive presence of NYPD police. I knew what tragedy would follow... The courageous, sacrificial fight for truth and justice in Gaza by the students at the risk of their own academic careers is nothing short of amazing. Now it is America's turn to raise our collective voices and continue the protest against the criminal tyranny that has sieged democracy!

Should the students not be protesting nationwide? I'm surprised there aren't protests at European universities of this scale if any. Were the 1968 Vietnam protests justified? Universities and its students should and have always been the heart, soul, and righteous voice of this country, and suppressing them is futile.

Free Palestine!🇵🇸 Students and all people have the constitutional right to peaceful assemble and speech! Sadly, Americans have been losing their inherent rights for years.
And in Berkeley.... The encampment is peaceful, no drama. Administration is doing, nothing at all. No feathers ruffeled here. Admins should use ucb as an example of not escalating drama. They aren't changing divestment or demands, but they aren't escalating. They aren't calling the cops, they are simply planning their graduation as usual, and the peaceful people remain peaceful. It's so easy to not spread more drama. We should report schools that aren't escalating drama with dramatic police show downs as well, as to not only feed the drama as the news. It also better reflects reality. Just a thought.
