Damn. That last story is nuclear revenge. Expelled from college, and disowned by parents, can't travel to another country for a degree because no money.
Hard to feel sorry for someone who took advantage of someone's kindness and went out of her way to spread false rumors about them.

I think OP is the issue due to the fact that, these beetles after they are done destroying his neighbours 1000 garden, it will move on to other houses and destroys those roses.

Me and my partner Lived in uni halls for a year before we couldn't do it anymore đ parties every night in our kitchen, them leaving mouldy food in our hallway and kitchen, they put holes in our kitchen wall and we had to fight not to pay for it, it was pain :') I have anxiety so I used to make my pot noodles in my sink bc I couldn't get in my own kitchen to eat bc of the crowding and deafening music

Here is the thing. After he resigned and was brought in under contract, the OP failed to keep up his end of the contract. But, since there is no actual contract (just appears to be a verbal agreement) then I leave that to the company or the CEO for not putting job duties and responsibilities in writing so as to get the most out of the OP's experience. So they opened the door for the OP doing nothing. I suspect the "new guy" wasn't very open about what portions of the job he/she wasn't knowledgeable in and the company didn't push the issue. They just relied on the OP being a descent human being and doing the training again.

As a hobbyist gardener and also loving growing roses, I can guarantee that seeing your hard work being eaten away by pests is a hard punch in the guts, and kicks while down. So yeah, that was a great prorevenge.
I see OP as the asshole in that story and kinda hope he gets some Karma coming his way.

Some people (like the CEO of the first story) do NOT deserve power.
I've only seen it happen on way lower levels, 'cuz I'm customer service. All it takes is one of us to be promoted to a level 2 or supervisor & BAM! Power goes straight to their heads! Some even resembled Nazis.

So I tried posting on r/AITA but it kept on getting taken down (IDK why) so imma post it here, it would be nice if I could get a response!
Ok, bit of background first. My friend is 17 and I am 16, between me and my friend I am the more affluent. We usually pay for our own stuff, but on some occasions help each other out; like if one of us is a few bucks short. We pay each other back quickly and have never had any problems before, but his Karen of a mom likes to meddle. A few days ago I was sitting in his house when his mom to meddle. I donât remember the exact words, but Iâll try my best.
Friends mom: Friend would never get as much money as you get.
Me: Oh, yeah⊠that sucks. But I work hard to get that money.
Friends mom: Friend told me that he owes you 6 bucks, donât you think thatâs too much for what he got. You also used a coupon, right?
To clarify, I like to use coupons at restaurants to save money. The meal I paid for I used a coupon on.
Me: Yeah I did, but I only get those coupons when I buy stuff. So they basically cost money. The meal Friend got was 10 bucks. I paid for it with a coupon and cash, charging him 6 bucks is still at a discount.
Friends mom: I think you are taking advantage of Friends kindness, he wouldn't have made you pay at all.
Me: What do you mean? I have always paid back any money I owed to friend.
The conversation went back and forth like that for almost 20 minutes, getting increasingly awkward as time went on. At the time I had a really good relationship with Friends mom so this confrontation was new to me, I had seen it happen to others but never to myself. I finally said, just to end the conversation, that Friend did not have to pay me back the 6 bucks he owed me, but in the future, I would never pay for his stuff and he would never pay for mine. Friendâs mom seemed to like that and life seemed to go back to normal⊠boy was I wrong.
Fast forward three days, me and Friend are out and about and I got hungry. We are about to pull up to the order board in the drive-through when Friend realizes he left his wallet at home, he asks if I could spot him some cash but I remind him that his mom had a fit last time that we paid for each other, I also remind him of our agreement. He solemnly says ok and I grab my burrito and pull into a parking spot. Friend called Friends mom saying that he was broke and hungry and wanted her to send him some money. Friends mom then asked if I had money and friend said yes, big mistake. Friends mom had an absolute fit, she was screaming at me for âstarving her childâ. I explain that she had agreed that neither of us was to pay for the other, and I was just following that. Then I figured out what she REALLY meant, she meant that I can pay for Friend but Friend can't pay for me. I stood my ground though and she finally relented and sent Friend money for food. I told my parents and friends about the encounter and they are pretty split on whether or not I was the asshole⊠so Reddit, am I the asshole?
TL;DR: Friends mom wants me to help pay for her son but gets mad if he pays for me.

BS. Neighbor fog wasn't leashed. Dogs are territorial. From the story, the dog was not drastically injured and OP got his dog off and offered to pay for half. When the neighbor took him to court, the judge found him innocent in 3 minutes, whoch means he was in the right
@@stormwright8300 No, that's just how the law works in the US. I grew up with dogs and none of them were aggressive towards other dogs regardless. And if you have a dog that is _that_ territorial you have an obligation to take measures. Like putting up a fence.
What kind of horrible place doesn't allow ppl to pursue a college education after a certain age? That's barbaric and short-sighted. Many ppl desire further education for any number of reasons, and how can someone be a contributing member of society if they are barred from bettering themselves?

A few years back my g/f and I lived in a bedsit (a house you rent with communal lounge/bathroom/kitchen with other tenants).
Not long after a new tenet arrived our daily hand delivered newspaper (front door was next to his bedroom) would vanish... only for a bunch of them to appear in the waste bin days later.
We knew it was him and as the newsagent was only just around the corner, we cancelled the order and just took the 2 minute walk to buy it instead.
Then food started to go missing, from the kitchen cupboards and the fridge. By now the other 3 tenants were also complaining about missing food.
In the kitchen we had a meeting, and he sparked up that YES he too had food stolen from HIM.. at which point his empty cupboard was opened revealing as we all already knew... it had NEVER had any food in it ever! Nothing in the fridge either. You'd think that would be the end of it.. NOPE! food still went missing... so my g/f and I hatched a revenge plan...
We bought a huge Black Forest Gateaux, shared a 1/4 of it between ourselves, because of her work, she brought home a big plastic syringe and I went around to the local chemist and bought a bottle of liquid laxative....
Yes we injected the whole bottle in to the remaining 3/4 of the gateaux! Later that evening we noticed less than 1/4 of it was left! Now we just had to wait...
He could hear us laughing as he kept having to run upstairs to the toilet! And I would knock on the door asking him if he was going to be much longer as we needed the toilet to read our newspaper... or to floss our teeth.. by now the other tenents realised what was going on and also made up stupid demands as to why they needed the bathroom... All be said... he moved out within a week LOLZ

RSLAH, I think you misunderstand what happened at 11:35. 'Knobby' was already hired, but OP saw his name on the final screening before they actually come in to work and essentially got him fired before he started.

I have a story like the dog one. We have a dog that would get through our fence, even though we tried EVERYTHING. A 2 inch plastic leash, an electric fence, like I said, EVERYTHING. She never caused trouble, so, even though we tried to keep her in, it was usually ok when she did go off. Until, of course, she attacked the neighbors cat. Keep in mind, the cat was allowed to wander around, more so than our dog. This was also a CAT. A cat that had sharp claws, and was not afraid to use them. Our dog actually had a couple scars when she came back. The man came yelling at our doorstep, threatening my dad, my dog, and a lot of other stuff. I donât entirely blame him. A dog had just attacked his cat. But our dog had just as much right to be out there as his cat. AND THREATNING TO CALL ANIMAL CONTROL AS WELL AS SUE US DID NOT HELP. Turns out you canât sue someone over that unless itâs on there own property. And again, I donât entirely blame him. Luckily, we were moving 2 weeks later, so we wouldnât have to see them again.

Japanese beetles don't travel very far because they are poor flyers. So nope on the massive numbers which wouldn't be present in a suburban area. Plus, the packets include sexual scent packs so all those beetles would have bred right there and planted eggs in the soil. The larva would have eaten the rose roots, the grass, and everything in sight. OP and the rest of his neighbors would have then been bombarded with adults destroying their gardens and lawns, too, followed by even more larva, in an almost endless cycle. Doing something like this is as smart dropping an atomic bomb next door.

4:20 This exact thing happened to me at one point too! Only the neighbors were nicer about the little meeting, while they never tried making my mother pay for their dog's vet bills, and if it were up to her, we could've had grounds to sue them for it as their dog attacked my dog, who was just minding her own business, and she's territorial but very sweet.
