- The Lg Wing is perhaps one of the strangest phones ever made. But is the repair just as strange? That’s what we’re here to find out. We bought this LG Wing 5G from eBay, it has a broken front glass and back glass. In this video we go through the steps to repair an LG Wing and also take a close look at its internals. We will be performing a screen replacement on this LG WING as well as a back glass replacement. Let’s see how this goes….

I think LG knew they were about to stop making phones, so they wanted to end off with something people would remember, even if it wasn't the best or most useful phone

In all honesty, the LG Wing was my first non traditional phone and is actually possible my favorite.
It was very useful for typing, streaming, and minor multitasking things. It's main appeal was just it being fun and unique. It was quite the conversation starter.

I think it's actually a really cool design. Watch CZcams in landscape while texting on the vertical portion or something if it allows that. Reminds me of some of the sliding screen androids and other dumb phones that revealed a full keyboard back in the day.
I get that It's cool, but it's also the same reason why no one bought this.

"useless" ever tried to watch a video fullscreen and chat or read stuff on twitter while searching something on the web? This design is more practical and sturdy than any of the folding phones. btw the center camera is the main camera, bottom is regular wide angle and top is for the gimbal mode
its almost as if every tech youtuber never watches youtube on their phone
even the folding phones need you to do some software split screen rubbish that doesnt work well with fullscreen modes
plus this design will last way longer than current folding display technology

Its not the "hardest". But it requires at least knowledge on it. Once you know how to repair phones, it gets pretty easy, even if its a phone that you have never seen before.

LG really pushed rthe wave with some of the phones they did make. I had a LG G6-G8 and those phones were a joy. Wish they were still here to help andriond even more.

honestly after having used this phone for over a year i can say for the everyday person its useless i only ever flip the screen when im showing someone the phone or fidgeting with it. However, i believer this phone is amazing for recording content especially vlogs due to the built in gimbal function and the software allowing you to pick a face and the camera staying aligned with that face to help with screen shake while moving. Also the phone is useful for multitasking if you have to use your phone to do stuff where you have multiple apps open.
I personally have one as my main driver. Great to be able to hold two apps open at once on two separate screens.

I love this phone ive taken it apart they are definitely different and hard. I got 2 and i have to say it will keep up with my flip 3 and s21 ultra.

you can try using a very thin wire, use it like a saw open up the display. you can save most of the displays this way.
I have an LG wing. I cracked the front screen and had it fixed. The guy who did it told me that this was the hardest phone he ever worked on lol The front screen is very weak. Compared to my Note 10 plus which I never cracked and dropped alot of times. I had some good times with the LG Wing for about a yr and a half. Cracked it again do RIP. Z fold 4 user now
The plastic parts that help hold and protect the boards and cables I normally call them shielding

Hey, the wt* to call them are called shields and/or antenna carriers, they are used to transfer the Wi-Fi/cellular/nfc/wireless charging etc from the motherboard to the phone, that’s why usually especially in Samsung phones they go all the way from the mobo to the sub board. yw

I own the LG wing and I'm commenting this from that phone. Using it for almost 2 years. Works perfectly. Like you said, the second display is kind of useless, i never used it but the concept is unique and people will be amazed if they saw it in Tshape thats the cool part. Bought it for 30,000 Indian Rupees on 50% discount two years back.
If they made that modernized, then I might consider switching. It’s cool as hell.

You can get a dyson battery adapter and convert the vacuum to run off of 18volts instead of the standard 12 volts.

The Wing reminds me of the Doubleplay!
And the Doubleplay was a humongous FLOP. Hands down stupid. Big garish menu icons, stupidly bad specs even when it was new and the lower screen was just a gimmick.

the Dyson is on max mode switch the suction setting down to the bottom for low mode
