First 3 are connected, Popular monster and The drug in me is reimagined are not

See, I don't know about that. From my perspective, obviously there is the journey of self and addiction through 1,2,and 3. But 3 ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. In 4, he is in a kind of limbo. He has accepted himself, and freely admits to what he believes he is, the "Popular Monster", but he is in a bit of a schizophrenic state. He becomes the litteral monster and attacks all those around him who are legitimately trying to help him (his therapist, the police, et al). But in 5, he has finally delved inward, the old "me" has died, and his soul is in lament. He has accepted that "the drug in Me is You" speaking to himself, finally admitting his realization. At the end, everything around him, the toxic environment he has lived in and with inside himself, burns. And he is left standing in the flames and ashes of this old "me", signifying a new persona has lived through it all and will eventually emerge from the rubble.
@@MetFreak42 The drug in me is reimagined, is a completely redone song of the drug in me is you from 2011. And the band (or Ronnie) stated that Popular Monster is not connected to the Trilogy. And the end of the Trilogy is not really a cliffhanger, it is representing a fear that Ronnie (and most parents) have that their kids will inherit the bad in them, or that they will repeat their mistakes.

Also, they've been changing their style for years now. Used to be very metal, but Ronnie has done a lot of rapping in various different albums.

Popular monster refers to basically being a whipping boy for everyone and everyone talking badly and and saying all these things about him. He finally says "okay, i'll become what you claim I am."
You should check out more. "The drug in me is you" and their reimagined version they just released. They also have a musical trilogy of singles starting with "Losing my Mind", "Losing my Life" and finished with "Drugs" which you should check out too.

have a quick look at Ronnie's back story and history and you will understand the name of the song a bit more. The song is about the media writing BS about him because he is an easy target due to his background to make look like the bad guy. Making him a "popular monster"

songwriting is perfect from ronnie because it relates to him. his daughter is the one that got him sober made him better now, from his music so far he has include his daughter shows he really love his daughter. ronnie has a bad past being in jail and etc. but after that his daughter is pretty much everything to him
Very glad to hear Vin say he's comfortable in conflict. That is something I have been contemplating lately, and trying to come to terms with understanding that I feel at home in struggle and hardship.

I definitely agree with everybody on doing the trilogy! You guys do great analysis of the meanings of songs and they will be perfect for y'all. Those songs in particular are their own genre and the videos are like movies that tell the story! Wow never expected these guys from you. If curious try something off of The Drug in Me is You from 2012. One of the albums that got me into metal. (Core bands like Of Mice and Men, these guys, Miss May I, led to The Black Dahlia Murder and Job For A Cowboy lol)
