- With traveling to Charlotte, NC with my 2020 Mustang GT Hades we had to meet up with our Buddy Josh with his 900HP MT82 Mustang GT thats equipped with a 2.9L Whipple Supercharger and let me tell you, it got ILLEGAL fast! This Gen2 Coyote Mustang is an absolute unit and she runs!

Yeah, I have the 3.2 Kenne Bell swap in my GT500 6 Speed. Very satisfying to drive. 740 wheel and otherwise stock with the exception of the rear gear and Dshaft.
@@JayCaseGT500 you should try a vmp gen3r. I gaurantee you'd like it alot more. More torque and average power and way more snappy on the hit. You can make about the same power as a 3.2 give or take but more torque and average power and just a better overall feel. I have one on my 07 it's sick.
I think dose of dbp is smart keeping dbp full mustang content i think is the good way to keep the views up and consistent

Lots of them do. Most of the issues people whine about are clutch related and they don't even realize it lol. It's just the internet sheep people copying everything everyone else says. Everyone else says mt82 is bad so that is what the blind sheep do. There are tons of them holding up to boost and have been since 2011. You can do a built mt82 for like 1800
The MT82D4 is fine, can handle a lot of power and can put it to the ground. It just needs some things to help it. Fluid + additives, clutch, shifter etc.

Over 900 wheel in my gen 2 2017 on a stock mt82 been 9.90s way it sets when the trans.decides its enough I to will go 6r80 on a brake

Oil pump gears aren't even needed people need to get out of that mindset. If you ain't bouncing off the limiter with boost (why would you be?) You won't have trouble.

That's nuts bro, I have a nearly 900whp Gen 3 5.0 that requires the Corn, only difference, here in AZ its $4.59 a gallon, RIDICULIOUS!! But I guess you got to pay to play.
Is that Ashley and Andrew's old s550? Has similar wrap and it was an mt82 car same blower and everything.
This is what I want to do with my 2017 GT.. But I'm not even looking for that kind of power really.. I's be happy with about 625/650 WT and where ever the WHP lands fine, I am really only looking for like a stage 1.5ish Whipple and tune.. These cars are a hand full once they go over 600 Wheel..

Do a tvs man. The 2650 are extremely efficient and make as much power as 3 liter Whipple do but more torque and average power. An odin is even better because of the large top mount intercooler like the Whipple has. People always think the tvs is gonna heat soak but that is so wrong. It's extremely efficient if you have any kind of cooling setup worth a damn you won't have issues especially at the boost levels you see on a high compression coyote. It don't get spun hard enough to worry about heat soak lol

@@whipplecoyote9479 The power isn't necessarily what's gonna kill the MT82, though. It's the RXT. One or two passes down a sticky track shifting past 7500rpm, and I guarantee 3rd gear will go bye bye.

@@Mo47047 they absolutely can handle over 700. Lots of guys have had 700+ wheel with mt82 cars being raced and was fine. What did you do dump the clutch at 6k on drag radials? If you're trying to be a track hero might want a bias ply slick. Just because your car broke at 650 doesn't mean they all do. I've seen lots of them live long at higher power levels. Overclutching is a common mistake. Don't use a 1200 hp clutch in an 850-900 Whp car. It's extra unneeded stress on the Trans. Bites too hard. Driver also has alot to do with it.
Op if the Trans goes do a calimer stage 3 or t56 magnum don't do another boring 6r80 like everyone else. Keep it a stick no reason not to if you're not racing professionally for $ at the drag strip.
Ben calimer stage 3 would have no problem with the rxt

just got a gen3 mt82, what whp can stock clutch handle ?
Should have went with an rst not rxt it would be easier on the Trans. Clutch grabbing too hard can cause issues but overall mt82 isn't near as bad as all these fools spout that it is.

Don't start that holier than thou bs. Tracks are closing everywhere it's not that simple as to just take it to the track. Stop being a Debbie downer party pooper you can absolutely do some nice pulls if you're smart on the street. They was fine man relax. People act like it's so easy just take it to the track no big deal let's pretend like all of them aren't closing and the ones we still have rarely let people test and tune like 5 times a year and there is 1000s of people there everytime because they do it so far and few between everyone crowds in anytime the track is open to the public.
