This USN DD is by far the best torpedo ship in the game, and it does not surprise me you can not get it that easy or at all anymore.
Benham was an event ship and it might be available is various different crates but I am not sure, nor would I recommend throwing money at WG to obtain it.
However, if it does appear in the game for some in game currency in the future, I would definitely grab it, because the torpedo potential of this ship is absolute madness.

Half the enemy team trying to squeeze through a chokepoint with a Benham on the other end of it. The thinking man's action game.
Well once I died in battle and was looking on my team-mates in game. Stalin - ship for steel, tier 10 and player was pointing guns into island meanwhile Napoli which was long time spotted on minimap was just killing him...of course he died before he turns his guns back. Than looking on Thunderer who was sailing away from Yamato. Yamato has 20k hp left and just DCP fires. He was not even shooting his guns cos ones more they were pointing somewhere else and Yamato was chunking him hard...and of course he died :D Than I quit playing for that that :-D Even bots can play better than some players...
Too bad none of them were capable of thinking.

Never realised how quick benham torps reloaded
On the face of it, Benham's racks reload a little quicker than average (Z-46/52 - 90s, Oster/Halland - 100s, Benham - 85s), then you realise how many if them you have, and how bad her guns are, then shrug and squeeze it down as far as it goes (TTM2 & FtT - 65s), add some AR buffing and between their reload and time to 10.5km, you can potentially have (albeit briefly) 48 torps in the water on a regular basis.

No hydro, no radar, no competent DDs against you. Why does this never happen to me? 😂
if you check again, you ll notice he spent a considerable amount of time inside michelangelo hydro and kron radar, but none of them used any the entire time

The thing is, Flambass, you're known to be an absolute assassin in a DD. So whilst it was a great watch, it wasn't really a surprise. Yes, I could watch you play wows for hours, certain in the knowledge that it would be great fun. However, I'd like to watch you do it in the 5 worst DD's, tiers VII-X. 😊❤😊

I think your carrier got spotted by the enemy carrier and it got sniped by the enemy Musashi.
I call this thing the Super-Clemson. It's got the same torp set-up, but the ranges are much better, with a better gun layout (but not as many guns)
Some day I mght get one via an SC, & if I ever do, I'll be a real pain in the proverbial with it.
I've had the same kind of game (6 kills, 5 by torps, 1 by guns, 268k) a couple of weeks ago in the same spot! I was playing Jinan which (for me) is the absolute torp-boat

Its so sad the short range of the Torps (12km would be great), my luck is always a few radar ships (including DDs). But yes Benham is awesome. Ive played it a lot. 2:24

Same here. Lemmingness of some players is breathtaking. I mean, they *knew* there is DD vomiting wave after wave of torps down that narrow passage. What were they expecting?

The best torpedo boat for me recently has been Tromp, believe or not. Never been a particularly good DD player but this thing has been awesome, don't know why people eat all the torps I throw out. Never mind winning a 1v2 vs a Khaba and Friesland lmao

Yes , they are very interesting, despite me playing battleships I am learning fast enough to understand that rushing into destroyer is bad thing to do , unless you have radar and good HE .

Your entire side team was useless, fortunately you were there. Sub was of no value, tirp drove in and broadside just to get torps off, Soy drove into BBs with 3k hp....what a ishshow
