    Nice. I'm a big Addictive Drums guy myself, agree on getting uniqueness from it vs SD. I love and use both, but AD is usually my go-to.

    You should try multi out for proper control over the different drum parts.

    This is great stuff Soulhenge, I think this drum programme is the one for me. The metal AdPack is only 90 euro so that's great, but I don't know whether to get others.. - which pack or pack combination would you recommend?

    • @MilianMalivukMusic
      @MilianMalivukMusic  Před 6 lety

      I haven't really tried other AD packs but I guess the metal pack is the must for metal...
      Currently I mostly use Naughty Seal Audio Perfect Drums and not AD2 for the really heavy modern metal drum sounds!

    I am a bit late to the party. Very helpful video, thank you. I tend to use beats from the presets cuz the midi tracks I do myself never sound as natural as the ones from the groove library. Do you have any tips how to "humanize" and set velocity for the midi tracks which are not from library? Cheerz

    • @MilianMalivukMusic
      @MilianMalivukMusic  Před 5 měsíci +1

      You're welcome haha! As far as I know, Logic Pro does not have a "humanize" function to randomize perfectly aligned MIDI notes, but I know other DAWs have that function.
      After so many years, I just play in the beats loosely with a MIDI Keyboard to get the feel in velocity and the "off-grid", natural feel and I quantize to taste (you CAN tell Logic how much it should quanitze if it's off grid)

  • @wyattsharp2675
    @wyattsharp2675 Před 5 lety

    Can you do an in depth video on EQ and Compression for the preset Logic Pro X Kits? I've been working on a demo and have used a couple of your videos for reference on LPX to get a way better sound, but I'm still struggling with getting a decent mix with the drums.

    • @MilianMalivukMusic
      @MilianMalivukMusic  Před 5 lety

      I never really got good sounds in a mix with AD, that's why I switched to Perfect Drums by Naughty Seal Audio. Sounds less organic but it's just better for metal.

  • @joshobrien5723
    @joshobrien5723 Před 6 lety

    Do you run the drums through bus/multi-out? Or does AD2 allow you to do everything on the piano roll and then mix it via the AU?

    • @MilianMalivukMusic
      @MilianMalivukMusic  Před 6 lety

      For demos I only use stereo out and I mix in AD2 itself. But for more detailed mixing I run multiout.
      Btw I'm using Perfect Drums by Naughty Seal Audio now anyway!

    Do you know any good free drum VSTs or trials? The perfect drums player demo gets you already decent results but it doesnt have a china unfortunately

    • @MilianMalivukMusic
      @MilianMalivukMusic  Před 6 lety +1

      Not really been looking into that yet, but I'll see if I can find a cheap or even free alternative to AD and squeeze the best out of it!

I just want to use addictive drums in logic :( Love the video by the way your the reason I bought addictive drums 2, love your guitar videos too! you taught me how to get a good free metal guitar tone in logic, you are basically my go to for how to record djenty metal

    • @MilianMalivukMusic
      @MilianMalivukMusic  Před 6 lety

      Hi, it's been 6 years or so since I installed AD2, could you tell me what you get in the downloaded folder? Either you have an installer or you have a .component file that you drag into the Components folder in Library > Audio. After that is done you should find the plugin as an Audio Unit in Logic.
