In this episode I'm in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires! This city is unlike any other in Latin America, it's a unique blend of European influences and Argentine culture. In this travel video I explore Buenos Aires, Argentina and find out what it truly means to be Argentine. I delve into the passionate Argentine tango which has become a symbol of Buenos Aires for the world, watch a crazy football match and indulge in the famous Argentine asado (BBQ) which Buenos Aires is so famous for. I also explore historic neighbourhoods including San Telmo and La Boca. Ultimately it's the intense passion of the Argentines for their cultural heritage and their willingness to share it with visitors which makes this city so special and unique!

This trip to Buenos Aires left us in awe of the intense passion with which Argentines live their life, and how passionate they are about certain things like tango, football and the unrivalled Argentine barbecue! What did you think of the video, did you imagine it would be like this?
Your support is so important for us to continue bringing you more quality content, a simple LIKE, COMMENT and SUBSCRIBE are completely FREE and it is really an invaluable source of support for our channel, you'll also never miss out on our upcoming adventures! Thank you so much :)
whats your background ?
Malini! you were a bit sloppy and superficial with this one. If you could mention Evita, you should have had the moral conviction to identify one strong black woman named La madre d'argentina! celebrated every November. But you brushed it all under the carpet to keep it light-hearted. I can understand that, but sometimes your outer beauty should match your moral conviction to raise awareness about very serious issues. You have the power and platform to make a difference!!
@@thinkerz8tipitina784 nope watch somewhere lese
@@thinkerz8tipitina784Lol, no. With all due respect, she doesn't have to cater to your personal sociopolitical whims and wishes. If you want to make a travel vlog/doc about Buenos Aires or Argentina that focuses on black identity in the city/country more centrally, do it. Malini doesn't have to delve into those aspects further if she doesn't want to, doesn't feel comfortable to, or simply doesn't care enough to do so. And moreover she shouldn't be guilt tripped by folk like yourself for the content of her videos. She doesn't have 'inner beauty' because she doesn't do a deep-dive about black history in Argentina? Madness. Let's just be grateful that we get such fantastic content here on YT for completely FREE, and leave the moral finger-wagging out of it, yeah? Peace.
"THE MOTHER OF ARGENTINA" '????? Celebrated in November ???? a black woman??? What are you talking about ??? For better or worse, Argentina had little African immigration, because in colonial times, the Viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata, a Spanish colonial organization prior to the country's independence, was really poor, unlike the Viceroyalty of Peru or the Viceroyalty of New Spain, present-day Mexico, there were no tobacco or coffee plantations, nor silver mines or other precious metals. The few blacks who inhabited the territory were domestic staff, or helped with field tasks. This is noticeable in the current population in which only 0.4% of the total are of African descent, and of that percentage 8% are born outside the country. There are no racial conflicts in Argentina, nor a racist feeling, regarding any ethnicity or religion, however, it is not necessary for you to invent fictions like that of the supposed "(black) Mother of Argentina."
What is certain is that the "Patron Saint of Argentina" is the Virgin of Lujan, an image of the Virgin Mary carved in Brazil, with a black complexion, whose first custodian in the "Villa del Lujan", the place where is now the Basilica of Lujan, the most important church in the country, was a slave known as "el negrito Manuel." Before providing false information, it would be better if you were properly informed.
BBC or Netflix needs to hire you to make a long form of documentary. The stories that you are able to convey in just 30 min is so good. Can't imagine how good a 1 hour or maybe 3 part docu-series by Malini would be.
¡Sí, señor! Great idea.
Bad idea!! She has more opportunities being a self-employed because those big tech don't deserve such talent and least she doesn't deserve be bad paid.
BBC or Netflix would certainly allow for a bigger budget and more opportunities, but being self-employed/an independent creator gives flexibility and creative freedom no company can give you. So I think it's a careful decision you have to make as I filmmaker.
We are here because Simon Reeves is useless. Malini far better.
Nahi degi bhai
Ok ..an Argentinean and Porteño here.
With the utmost respect. Saying that "to be an Argentinean" is defined by wondering a few blocks in the downtown area of Buenos Aires is like saying that a Florida inhabitant defines what an American is.
This country offers so much more that you couldn't possible imagine, my advice is for you to rent a car or better..rent a panel van and drive across the country and you will find out the native roots of our country. The gauchos, the natives before them, the immense Pampas, the mountains, the falls, the deserts, the jungles..
I do hope you enjoyed our country and our people
exactly
💯
As an American-Argentinian I have to say you described Argentina perfectly, in one word repeated in this video a couple of times, Nostalgia.
I travelled, not much, but enough. I left the country, and came back. And as I fly over Buenos Aires, I always cry. It’s an addiction, it’s a type of love hard to understand, it’s the Italian feel, with the French Architecture, it’s everything Europe is and isn’t. It what you hate but need.
It’s nostalgic, because no matter how much time you spend away you will always say “don’t cry for me Argentina, the truth is I never left you.”
Thanks for the video.
That’s very touching! Thanks for sharing 🩵🤍
Buenos Aires (and Patagonia) is the most memorable place I have ever been to. You present a very accurate view of the lovely Argentinian people.
Glad you enjoyed it!
👏👏
As I said before Angelica, there is something in you which makes you right at home in Mediterranean rooted cultures; Italy, Spain and now Argentina. Somehow, you belong there; Forget London.
I also noticed this about her because there is a way she feels so connected to the mediterranean culture and the people.
London is finished unfortunately. I used to love it though.

My wife and I recently booked our flights to Argentina, and it is great to see people I follow are making their videos about Argentina. I can't wait to visit that beautiful country!!
That is awesome! Have fun !
this beautiful video its about buenos aires. Even so i hope you have a nice experience in our country , at least a little of it ´cause its huge..
1st gen American-Argentine here! 👋🏽 I have always heard stories about my family back in Argentina and the history. It’s such a beautiful place and people. My grandfather left Argentina in the 60s to find work and better hope for his kids and family he found it in america…I wish to go back, I wish the economy becomes something that people can build with. A Argentine friend of mine always said the best line for the country “Esa pieza está algo suelta, pero la podemos atar con alambre - That piece is a bit loose, but we can tie it with wire.” They find ways to live even in hardship.
Thank you for that perspective, I really think we, as your dad, inherited that trait from all the immigrants that worked so hard here. My grandparents were italians and they've always worked so hard but valued family most of all.
I love the "look" of the video and that style of 'film' graininess and colour pallette. Fabulously atmospheric. Kudos to whoever does the filming and video post production.
Thank you so much!
I enjoyed every second of this video, which captures the nostalgia, essence, and feeling of being in Buenos Aires. The interviews with the locals give the viewers very good insight into the life of everyday people within the city. The cuisine in the city and suburbs look very delicious. Also, it was amazing to see you dance with a local at La Viruta, an iconic milonga!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 🙏
Such a Beautiful country Argentina, and in 2024 it still remains a wildly unexplored destination.
Good job Malini, you absolutely nailed it. 😘
Thanks a lot!
Soy brasileño y amo Buenos Aires y Argentina. Saludos desde Fortaleza, estado de Ceará.
Argentina has a cool cultural element. cherish music and delicious food, and your presentation is all melted in one bowl. Ultimately Argentina is my favorite football team also I love messi-10 and wish one day I travel to this amazing country.
Good luck Malini. Best wishes for you.
Thank you so much 😀
❤️👏👏
Argentina is a magnificent country and is a perfect blend of Spanish and Italian cultures. I'd wish to go there once I have time. Thanks for showing us this great country!

Thank you for this short but sweet video on Argentinian life! Despite their difficult economic conditions their passion remains.
Well said!
If they had the same passion for hard work as they do for meaningless activities like soccer and tango, they wouldn't be bankrupt.
Malini, I just finished spending a month in Buenos Aires. I can say your video totally captured the essence of the city like no other I’ve seen and I viewed multitudes before I went.
Happy to hear that!
👏🏼 Videazo! gracias por visitarnos ❤
Gracias!
My grandmother moved to Argentina in the early 1920s from Serbia. My mother was born in Buenos Aires in 1933 and emigrated to the US in 1946. They got to see Argentina in its glory days. Everything was in abundance. My mother went to an English primary school. Her father worked for Standard Oil and did a lot of work near Salta where they lived for a time.
I had hoped to have her visit her home country before she passed but was unable to. I think she would've been depressed how the country appears today.
Hello there, you can still visit Argentina any time you want and, hopefully, get hooked by tango! (by the way, they have a great tango scene in many of the big cities in the US). Yes, Argentina has been in permanent mess since its glory days, but for us tourists it means a few euros or dollars go a veeeeeeeeery looooooong way, as the exchange rate is so good for us. If you plan it right, and depending on how many vacation days you can take (if you're American then maybe you barely get anything, over here in Europe we're blessed with excellent work-life balance) you could visit not only Buenos Aires, but also the super spectacular Iguazu Falls in the border with Brazil and Paraguay, the impressive glaciers in Patagonia and their Welsh villages and the whales' sanctuaries, and the superb vineyards in Mendoza and the Native (Amerindian) parts of Northwestern Argentina.
Her country was Serbia then??
Another amazing video Malini!
A true “love letter” to Argentina! 🇦🇷
Your videos really capture the true heart, soul and spirit of every location you visit! Thank you for allowing us to travel with you! ❤
Thank you so much! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video 🤍🤍
Buenos Aires the city where Borges lived and weaved his Unreal Fables of dreams and infinity.
We've heard you talk Italian, Spanish, maybe some French, and obviously English (And you have very a South Indian first name ). Thats a pretty versatile social DNA., we must say 😀😀.It always leaves us second guessing where your roots are from 😛.
Jokes apart, (we know we must be sounding like broken radios) BEAUTIFULLY DONE.
People watching is one of our favourite tings to do when we travel and this one is so full of it. This definitely ranks amongst our personal favourites.
btw, the soul of Buenos Aries is so very similar to Naples. We wonder if its Maradona 🤔🤔
As always hugs and love from India 🤗🤗
Aww guys!! Thank you so much 😊 always such a pleasure reading your thoughtful comments!! Well I may just add another language in the next video so stay tuned 😂🤣 Looking forward to your next release!! Big hugs 🤗
Dear Angelica, great video! I just wanted to correct the original source of the colors that inspired Boca Juniors. It was not a Swiss ship/boat🇨🇭 but a Swedish one🇸🇪.
Oh thank you!
Malini , Wow !! I like all your videos but I think this one on Argentina…is a cut above the rest ….Thanks for taking me there again …I Love and have loved Argentina….🇦🇷 Thank You …until soon ….Alex 🇬🇷

She does a great job of showcasing different cultures. Wonder if she'll do a video in Brazil next?!
This video is spectacular! I am from America and have been accepted to study abroad in Buenos Aries for a month. This video is extremely educational and artistically depicts the culture in Argentina.
Like all of the high quality work, this channel is way too much underrated. Love you guys 👏 ❤
It feels like Malini can tell my story to me in such a way that I'd go all proud of myself.
Yes, that IS the feeling. They always seem to tell a story and seem so personal yet universal.

One year ago exactly this month of January i spoke to a girl from Argentina in Leeds coach station, she was going London area here in England 😅
Nice girl and very friendly. :)
Great storytelling, on-camera presence, and ability to capture the essence of any people and/or place… your Spanish is perfect, too. So talented!
Really good to have an insight into the passion for life, food, love and their heritage… thank you for this…

This was a very well-done segment. Thank you!

Really wonderful! Such a quality production here and your interview skills are conversational and warm just excellent. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 🙏
Being Argentinian means working hard and getting consistently screwed by the government. But a great video showing how Argentinians found a way to enjoy life through art and culture despite the tragic economic situation
I agree the government part, but the "working hard" is not very true when compared to other countries/places... From what I have observed the workers love their many paid holidays, syndicates, and government subsidies... Also, things take forever to get done, even simple things that should take an hour or 2 could take days...
Hmm, that sounds much like the shared experiences of many europeans, such as My papa, that left Portugal and Spain in the first decade of the 20th century and landed in the United States.
I am eagerly looking forward to experiencing Argentina's culture.
Hola Malini fue un lindo video lo disfrute mucho Argentina 🇦🇷 es un hermoso Pais su musica su gastronomia su cultura .

The way you explain the things is really impressive. It looks like a feature beautifully written, and then it is explained by you for the audience. I have taken the idea and have started to establish a CZcams like this to cover different places and cultures.

Love coming along on your adventures - so fun, bringing the best of each culture, and I always learn something new! (Really enjoyed the tango performances! And that bbq...my lord that's wild.) You never fail to engage the locals, and that puts you above most. P.S. Madonna won the Golden Globe, not Oscar, for Evita.

Amazing, thanks for sharing!

Very good overview. Well done! It would have been nice to mention other things like the country's recent world cup win, Lionel Messi and Daniel Pasarella when you talked about soccer as these are topics that most of the rest of the world connect Argentina with. A national icon like Maradona was only mentioned in passing by pure coincidence.
We'd also like to see you ride on a bus or pay for food in the local currency, show the notes/coins and tell us the value, enquire about local beer names (even if you don't drink), ask about religious life, dating culture, interview both teens and retirees, ask what's changing about life in the country that they wish wasn't, etc.
The food and Argentine beef and Italian influence were very commendable mentions though. Good work!
Thanks!
