- A lot of people often say not to bother with Casablanca when visiting Morocco and instead head straight to the touristic cities of Marrakesh and Fez. They are wrong! If you’re after an authentic experience in Morocco I absolutely recommend visiting this city! In this video I show you the places to visit in Casablanca; it ended up being my favourite city in Morocco! It's not overrun with tourists, it's 100% authentic and it's a city with a very interesting history, where Europe meets Africa and the resulting culture and architecture is incredibly unique!
List of places visited in the video:
OLD MEDINA
HASSAN II MOSQUE
MARCHÉ CENTRAL
MOHAMMED V SQUARE
HABBOUS QUARTER
LA CORNICHE

Malini, the French occupation did not build anything. What you have seen is the genius of Moroccan artisans whom their ancestors built Andalusia, Cordoba etc and literally all of South Spain. Well done on the video, and great editing skills.
Yhdik rebbi rah bessah centre ville bnawh les français
Are you serious bro ? Half of Casablanca was built by the french occupation
The French had the authority to order the construction for x reasons but what you see is made by Moroccan hands is my point. France throughout history has never left an occupied territory something of value and they are still taking advantage of us and most of other African counties, probably worse… and these are facts.
@@noury20 exactly and what they built there was for themselves. The same goes for every other colonial power, including Spain in the north of Morocco.

Welcome to Morocco, i enjoyed watching the video but i'd like to correct some points :
The architecture of the Hassan II Moque and the Habbous and sweets you ate are purely and 100% Moroccan.
Thank you!

@@Malini.Angelica Why would you travel to a disgusting Muslim land?
we respect the fact that you made efforts to make this video, but you have to read about Moroccan Architecture, and Moroccan food, all that you see belongs to Morocco :)
I respect the fact that you went deep into the local's life instead of going to fancy places.
Telling half the story and showing only one side of the coin wouldn't qualify as a complete piece of work - not very wise in any reasonable man's book lol
I’ve been told that I look Morocco well I can see how, thank you for another great video!!! 🇲🇦 Beautiful Morocco😍!!!
Amazing video, happy to have you here in Morocco. Just to clarify something I herd you saying islamic architecture but all you have seen was 100% Moroccan Architecture and design ❤️
Thank you for your comments, and I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Really amazing design 😍
Yes indeed the unique Moroccan architecture belongs to the general and very diversified Islamic architecture so you have the Persian in Iran , Ouzbékistan and all centre Asia Islamic countries, the Mongol in India and around, the sham architecture in Palestine and great Syria etc , of course the Ottoman architecture, the south Arabic architecture in Oman and Yemen, the Swahili East African in Tanzania dar as Salam , Somalia , Kenya Mombasa etc , of course the Sicilian Arabic architecture and the most famous Andalusian mauresque in actuel Spain and it’s islands (which really the Moroccan influence of course is great) and many others but of course again the Moroccan architecture is distinctive, very finest, nuanced and diversified from Tangier, Tetouan to Marrakech, ourzazette , Tafilalt passing by the magical city of Fez . But all of those architecture are belonging to the Islamic civilisation which is of course part of human heritage and history like others world civilisations. This what expert and specialist of history of architecture and civilisation said and teach and not what you naively wrote.
By the way I thx a lot M Anglica for all the accurate words and description in this video, well said and smartly exposed. Clear and pedagogical sometimes. Lovely video. I learn a lots

Welcome to Morocco. Note. Everything I saw in Morocco concerns Moroccans. The Islamic countries have nothing to do with that. Morocco is a nation state and an empire centuries ago, before the advent of the French and Spanish occupation, which divided Morocco and extracted millions of kilometers from it in favor of newly established countries that have uniqueness and privacy in architecture, clothing, food and multiple cultures. field to mention.
Great info, thank you!
Morocco still shares most of it culture with other Islamic and Arab countries especially those of the Maghreb (Algeria and Tunisia). From ethnicity, food, religion clothing to architecture.
Saying that Morocco shared MOST of its culture with other countries is a huge lie. Especially Middle Eastern countries that only share religion with Morocco... in away I see Morocco as the turkey of Africa.
@@mansurdk2016 I was talking about the Maghreb countries that Morocco shares a lot of it’s culture with them: Ethnicity, language, architecture, religion…etc

Just landed on your video about Casa where I currently live. Great effort, prod and shots honestly, keep it up for real. I saw the comments as well and I kinda agree with them especially after taking a class in Islamic Art and Architecture. The Moroccan identity has been shaped throughout time by the moorish, amazigh, arab, african, roman, french, spanish... The moroccan culture and identity are quite unique when it comes to all aspects of life, ranging from food to architecture, much different from the islamic middle eastern countries or europe or any region related to Morocco. The architecture of the Moors have actually strechted their influence all the way to South America across Europe and Africa. One of the oldest kingdoms '12 centuries with its unique identity mainly, the Sheriffian Kingdom of Morocco ruled by the second oldest Royal family in the world, counting many dynasties. I hope to see more of your videos honestly and visit the other unique cities in Morocco, there is much more to see. You're always welcome here😊

Hello Angelica, thank you for the video, it was nice and interesting ❤

Hi I hope you are doing well, I come across your channel by chance, and it coincides with this nice video or I will say mini documentary about my hometown Casablanca, I find that the video is just extraordinary on the artistic side and photography as well as the truths of your words about our reality of life, the assembly is very good, I would have liked if it lasted longer, question of finishing the assembly on other places prettier on our city but I understand that our city is quite large, but I assure you that not boring, I like the video too much, and it is especially the modern and simple artisanal side which is 100% moroccan nd that goes with what we are really even as people and community, because I have friends from different countries and they still believe that Morocco is the deserd as well as we move with camels like the old days lol, thank you again for your efforts and time, you and your team behind the camera, send u lot of love nd kisses from hearts ❤️🥀
This is very sweet message, thank you very much. We really enjoyed our time in Casablanca unfortunately it was only for two days but we managed to do a lot and hopefully we come back one day and visit some more places. Thank you 🙏

I think it’s more appropriate to refer to the architecture as Moroccan rather than Islamic since Islam does not have an architecture. Each country that was forced to adopt Islam brings its unique art and architecture to its public and private building and edifices.
Nice video !
thank you for the loads of informations that I myself being a casablancaise didn't know about them :D
🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦Casablanca History and civilization It is the economic capital city that belongs to the womb of the honorable Kingdom of Morocco It is the mosaic city, the stronghold of the most famous artists, writers, fighters and athletes, art of culture, civilization and history
Not really . Casablanca is the creation of the Spaniards and later French . It’s the newest and youngest city of pretty much of all the kingdom . It wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t the center of commerce and industry. There is nothing ancient about it. All it’s inhabitants come from other parts of Morocco . It doesn’t have much history compared to other much older more authentic cities in the country .
