We are already in the big crash, Inflation is a catastrophe. This CPI report is a colossal failure. To bring the housing market to a halt, the FED will have to pull all the stops. The unfortunate issue is that other markets are being decimated. If you want to stay green, you have to rely on a lot of diversification. Currently up 14% and being careful. Still a better deal than leaving it in a savings or checking account yielding 0-1 percent interest.

People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyper-inflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire.

Recession early 90s, when I left the Army and went back home to the West Midlands in 1993 unemployment there was 45%. Late 90s not much better unless you were in London but Blair opened the floodgates to unlimited immigration. Credit crunch 2008. Shite wages after mass EU immigration post 2004. And on and on. It makes me think now at this age there is no future in the UK. It will always be like this. It's a crying shame because the British have SO MUCH potential but all of our potential is being spaffed up the wall because the government see more reward for themselves and their mates in big business than creating a reward culture for hard work for the average small business owner/s who for many years will struggle just to get by. Go abroad and the situation and the comparison becomes stark just how bad it is here.

You have to do your research properly of whether those places are really suitable for you to live for the long-term. You should be considering the work aspect, and the whole picture as well (e.g. culture, ease of travel, costs, tax, housing prices, political system, history, society values, religion, language...etc.). Needless to say, I regretted tremendously going to Singapore. It took me around 8 years to return to the Western world. Once you leave, it gets much harder for you to return to your home country. While new lines have opened & stations like Tottenham Court Road been rebuilt, many of the stations haven't changed in 40 years! For example the Piccadilly Line. Lovely flash stations at Heathrow but once you get past Hatton Cross it is a visual journey back to at least the 1980's or even older. The Hounslow stations being a good example of what I mean. Functional & kept clean, there are even some clever things done like the bird netting at Hounslow Central that keep birds from roosting under the roof. People are moving around to other provinces to a certain extent looking for a lower cost of living, but there is no mass exodus of folks leaving the country. It's actually the opposite, the population growth rate is +2.7 percent . In 2022, the number of Canadians rose by 1,050,110. As of June 16th, 2023 Canadian population is 40 million.
The housing supply and demand issue is driving cost on top of inflation and recovering from the impact of covid. Within my personal circle I have two friends that moved from the UK. 1 just got their landed status and plan to pursue getting citizenship. I have a neighbour who relocated his whole family from Houston, Texas because he hates the direction of America. The government needs to address the housing crisis if they continue to expect this kinda of growth. Especially in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver.

That's really difficult. There is always the discussion about languages, and integration. If you look at other English speaking nations (as a first language), a lot of them are having similar issues right now. But the UK have recently enacted Brexit, which, I am sorry to say from my personal experience living in the UK for most of the last 20 years, was heavily based around racism. None of the other English speaking nations have divorced from the worlds largest trading block on the basis of wanting to explore "better" trading opportunities, and yet are looking at GDP declines, and dropping down the league tables of the OECD / G7, in such a spectacular, and stupid self-inflicted manner.
I would not recommend entering that racist-infested pit called the UK, until such time as they grudgingly return to the EU. You would be far better served going to one of the EU countries where English is a second language, or, learn their national language before you go.
And, obviously, there is the question of visas. I don't know your situation, and I dont want to know. I am confident you will be able to figure out what is best for you and your family. But please be aware of just how serious the Brexit situation was, and what was behind it. The video would have been better to have a more balanced view when it comes to Brexit. Being part of the EU did harm UK as well (There was good and bad on both sides )- we had too many immigrants from Europe taking up construction jobs for cheap and the NHS was overburdened as were our schools and public services. The UK picked up the slack for EU during EU holidays. For instance (what I experienced personally) Germany would have more holidays than UK and the UK team would do the work for the absent Germany team. Europeans worked less hours than UK and UK paid a significant amount into the EU. Also Germany and Europe is doing worse than the UK right now? Didn't the Euro reach parity with the US Dollar? The pound did not.
It's worth noting that after the referendum, there was another election and Pro-Brexit Tories won beating Labour in traditional Labour strongholds - this was seen as a second referendum.
London tends to be more pro-EU/anti-Brexit, but outside of London (in the more rural/suburban areas) are pro-Brexit/anti-EU. It may be worth getting their opinions also.

The collapse of the UK has very little to do with Brexit and everything to do with the war in Ukraine which has caused massive energy related inflation, poor leadership from the likes of May, Johnson, Truss, specially during COVID, the unabated influx of illiterate and violence prone immigrants, mostly from failed and war torn countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan and Syria who refuse to integrate and prefer to live on benefits as well as reduced tourist arrivals due to the rising crime levels in London and some other parts of the UK with large immigrant populations from muslim/African countries which its police are either unable or unwilling to control.

This was the reason the government has tightened restrictions on student visas because unfortunately people like these misuse a fairly liberal system! These people come in such huge numbers that they change the demographics of some place see london its 40-50 % indian immigrants now

@@hammadahmed725 The Indians you talk about are very small in numbers compared to the number of skilled and highly qualified and experienced Indians moving to the UK. Apart from that, Indians work hard irrespective of their background and skills. They are honest, hardworking and best of all, they integrate well into British society, are law abiding citizens, pay their taxes and contribute to the British economy. That is why you have an Indian origin PM Rishi Sunak heading the UK. Pakistani immigrants on the other hand are mostly illiterate, the majority of them being taxi drivers in the UK. They live in ghettos in places like Birmingham where they live exactly the way they live in Pakistan, they don't allow any non muslims to buy property in the areas they live in, and they contribute very little to the local economy except negatively as criminals and members of drug gangs. The Pakistani origin grooming gangs of Rochester and Rochdale who preyed on predominantly young vulnerable white women is a good example of their negative contribution to British society and their toxic culture. The recent incident where about 300 Pakistanis drowned in their attempt to illegally enter Europe via boats is an example of the kind of people who move to the UK and Europe from Pakistan. Illegal and illiterate. Apart from that, Pakistani origin immigrants don't integrate, they only mix with other Pakistanis and being uneducated, they prefer to live on benefits and sponge on society. They bring their toxic culture and religious beliefs from back home with them to the UK, marry their illiterate cousins from back home and bring them to the UK instead of marrying British women, because they find it hard to dominate and control them. They keep fighting for Sharia law in the UK while destroying churches and temples in Pakistan, which makes it evident that religious zealots originate from Pakistan. . Why come to the UK if you want to marry your illiterate cousin from back home in Pakistan and introduce Sharia in the UK. You guys should stay home as you are unfit to live in any civilized society. Sadly your home country is in an equally big mess as Pakistan is now both politically and financially bankrupt and has become a terrorist haven in the world. I am sure you are aware Osama Bin Laden was found and killed by the Americans in Pakistan. And all this while India goes on to become the 5th largest economy in the world. Based on the above, it is not hard to guess who is more welcome in the UK. You guys are not wanted there.

Of course these points are valid but it is worth mentioning almost all Western countries are suffering from these problems although the severity of each varies by country. The UK is still an absolutely fantastic country and yes some are leaving but in the last year we've had the highest number of people coming to the UK in living memory (over 600,000) so it obviously is a very attractive country. And of course some people would love to pay no taxes and move to the Dubai where they can make use of the tax breaks and high quality of life on the back of workers with very few rights and extremely low wages. However many consider the free healthcare and high basic worker rights like a £10.40 minimum wage something to be very very proud of.

I can for sure tell you, it used to be 'great' but not anymore. Yes, other countries in EU have similar issues, but not the issues especially people who work in London face. I know plenty of people who are above 60k-80K+ and they are questioning the quality of life they get. Also, even thou UK ofc has a high net migration, but you forget the people who are leaving the UK are mostly high skilled and replacing them, isn't easy or at least it will take years. This overall will impact the amount of taxes any future government will have for investment, hence at this stage especially if you are in your mid 20s/30s leave UK, I know plenty in my circle who have already or are about to.
