You have plenty of time. Just keep building up experience and you'll get there. It may be a bit more difficult compared to being in your 30s, but there is such a high demand for good people in this specific field .... (cyber security). And don't be afraid to start with a lower salary to get a foot in the door. You will easily make more down the road.

I am 56 years old and I retired at 52 as a Systems Administrator in an oil company in Venezuela, but I still want to continue working in that IT area. I know that my age is limiting but I still feel young and in good health to continue contributing my experience and long professional career. I am a Higher University Technician in Computer Science and Computer Engineer, I would like to hear your comments, suggestions and recommendations. Greetings from Venezuela. 🇻🇪

@@DEDEPLDEDE may I ask what your inspiration was? (as in why you chose to leave your current field and also why you chose IT as your new one?)

@@nerd2544 I was driver. Truck driver then bus driver because I had a operation in 2013 and I could not lift anymore. I did it because I had enough of driving (no toilet, abused by customers, etc) and soon all trucks and buses will be driverless vehicles. I was lucky I got to Cybersecurity field because my friend passed CV to the SOC manager. Since then I work as a SOC analyst.

I'm 36 years old Burmese female and my education background is in business line (MBA) and my career has been in sales all along for more than 12 years in Singapore. I want a more like a stable skill related job which is an IT job and a green list job to get a permanent resident in a certain country. But not sure of which IT line to pursuit at this point. Appreciate if get advised for some options in IT areas. Thanks
