- Learn how to turn just about anything into a lamp with my simple tutorial where I upcycle an old German WW2 oil lamp into a beautiful pendant lamp with 3 core braided flex & torpedo switch. First I restore the lamp & seal it before wiring up the electrics.

I know some collectors who are still weeping after watching this WWII German lamp build! Nice job!! LOL!
Perhaps you've not only created an awesome, but you've also shed some light on the whole death collector industry! Wooo!
Welfare Batman approves!

Lovely...the lamp too.
Really good instructions, just in the process of renovating a ships searchlight and wanted to wire in a LED bulb. Just wanted to confirm how to wire it in and you confirmed it. Thanks ChrisN
I'm younger and have passion to build you are a great person to look up to so thank you
I see it took me a couple years to see this tutorial, my loss. I enjoy your humor and appreciate that you explain procedures simply enough so that those (like me) understand.xoxo
I liked your explanations of the process you go through and how you decide things like not completely removing all the rust from the lantern. I'm just finding my interest in lamp making so processes and decision making interest me as much as techniques. Great video!
Lori Sorrows thank you for your comment! I’m glad you like my lamp video. I’ll be doing more soon as I’m bringing out lamp kits with everything needed to make your own 😊. Here’s link to my mailing list incase you’re interested eepurl.com/dhlQTb let me know how your lamp making goes 😊👍💡
Turned out great. My favorite things...a little Dust and Rust.lol. Making a few of these for sure.
Great tutorial video I was left some old woodworking tools which I want to make into lamps. Thanks for showing me how too

Great video Charis! Your channel is growing and the ideas are great inspiration! I love the idea of "up-cycling" there are only so many things we can take from our planet. Thanks for taking time to upload your films. N.
Thank you Neil! It's great to hear you like the videos & appreciate my ideas, some times it can feel like a bit of an uphill battle filming on your own! Lol. This is just what I need on a Monday morning (plus coffee obvs) for more inspiration & motivation! Have a great week, Charis 😁♻️
I am really pleased I came across your channel, I have gone a little crazy because we (my wife and I are now following you on Twitter and watching the back catalogue of videos on you tube. I have also added your website to my favourite list but I haven't had time to check it out yet. I look forward to your future films but I also understand the amount of work that goes into them is enormous! Take Care. N.
Awsome great job I make lamps and I know all about trying to fit my big hand in a tight glass shade. Sometimes I get the kid to help me "small hands" lol

I've heard that u can soak the rusted things in coca cola & it works . I tried it on some rusted tools and it worked really fast . U are doing an amazing job absolutely beautiful ! 💖
What a transformation Charis, Thanks for the shout out :)

Struggling to find the rods
The hallow threaded bar I get from lamps and lights, I've added the website & all the info to the description now (I was out when it finished uploading 🙈), I look forward to seeing what you've made 😊
+Charis Williams ahh ok I'll have a look later on! Fankkkks!!!
Cool Mannequin in the back ground.. In the old days for plains wood tool etc. a fine rubbing of boild linseed oil would seal the metal from rusting. Also after oxidizing a sculpture, one can seal with same stuff.. Not as appealing as red rust but... If you want to get the rust off safely completely you can soak part in a vat of 1 part Molasses 9 parts water for 2 weeks. the part will come out grayish looking void of rust, The vat will last up to 7 months. If needed. Just saying.
How would a toothbrush get a pube in it ? Lol what an old brass..........lamp of course. Nice work Charis, new subbie
I think it would have been better if the cable came out at the base
My works too. Used WoodPrix handbooks and build it with no problems.
Hi but it looks like you put the blue wire in the live lol
Looks like you connected the plug wrongly. you put the blue which is neutral to the fuse side
I made it with woodprix handbooks !
Might have been easier to just clan lamp with a curved wire brush, and then simply wax it? Also should mention not spraying aerosols indoors, without adequate ventilation, and a mask, finally you cannot sell any item you make, unless it has been tested and approved by a Qualified Electrician.
I blew myself up :(
Haha!! 😳⚡️😵
Really enjoy it. Let's check woodprix plans also.
Cheap tip from Welfare Batman dude guy - buy one of those cheap $7 battery toothbrushes to cut down the cleaning labor by half!
I'm not just another manly, handsome "some say gorgeous" amazing, mojo monster, chick magnet... i'm also an egotesticle l , arrogant, narcissists, B.S.- ing tipster in my spare time...so...ya.
