Nice job in general, good to see someone put a rubber grommet in the hole to protect the cable. You can also buy glands that can be tightened around the cable to stop it pulling through.
A battery drill will make your life a lot easier.
Also, you can use a hairdryer on the heatshrink. Much better better than using a cigarette lighter, you won't burn your fingers!
I'm planning a similar project myself, but hoping to make it battery operated. Browsing for inspiration, and you've paid a lot more attention to detail than a lot of people, so kudos for that!

that's a VERY nice job! I loved the care and attention you gave to the work. The frosted glass gives it a very warm and cozy appearance. Plus the insulation you put was crazy lol! Great work!!

As an oil lamp collector I just wanted to say that some of the older kerosene or oil lamps are rare collectibles in their own right and some are very valuable. If they are converted to electric then they are devalued considerably. If anyone has an old oil lantern then please do some research on it before you do anything to it. There are collectors worldwide and Internet forums that will tell you exactly what you have. Please do not destroy our antiques. Thank you.

Great video. Thank you for sharing. The wife and I are going to attempt to attach a light on the inside top of the lantern so it can be hung up.

    Hi Miroslav,
Any other way to make the glass frost? maybe with spraying paint or something?
    thanx

Yes, there are other ways, but this one is the best. Other paints are not termo resistant, and can fall off. Also they make unwanted shadows.
