Quite interesting seeing some of these responses to Ray's evangelism method. It's very formulaic and occasionally lacks a personal touch but does a good job in recognising the sad reality of man's sinfulness, and only then will we truly appreciate the saviour Jesus Christ and what he did to save us. I think it's important to note that we are not trying to coerce or recruit people into a religion. True Christianity is not merely a belief system where you follow a list of rules and principles. The gospel says that only by trusting in Jesus Christ as saviour, can you be reconciled with God, have your sins washed away, receive eternal life and find true purpose in life. That's not merely a religion-it's a wonderful, glorious truth! Keep up the good work Ray, hope you are always open to feedback and improvement tips, and don't let the haters get to you too much!

If we celebrate the victory the crucifixion represents we are not celebrating a pagan holiday but a historic event in mankind. the difference between Christianity and the other religions is that we Christians had prophets that gave us the Word of GOD and told us the future before it happened, the GOD of Israel is the only GOD that can do that and JESUS is exactly the person who they told us about coming as the messiah, HE is the only one that fulfills the description. Therefore I now try to serve Him, not to gain acceptance, but because I already have it, in that area Christianity is utterly unique.

If you committed any heinous crime and God adopted you (even if you were only going to live a short time on the earth) that is just another picture of His mercy to us. Even if you didn't repent, I am at peace knowing that God has everything under control and that His will is done and it is all for His glory. I would definitely miss my child, but knowing that they are in heaven- and even maybe in heaven with you- is not a bad thing at all. Heaven is said in the bible to be an incredible place. The fact that God allows any of us to be saved is such an amazing thing :)

Something I would like to begin doing, for unbelievers who think Christians are 'self-righteous' is direct them, not just to the Bible (which truly has the answers to everything), but to Pilgrim's Progress. People need to understand that when a Christian does something wrong, that doesn't make CHRISTIANITY wrong. That merely means the person did not follow Christ in the matter. Remember that the first thing a person who surrenders to Christ does is ADMIT his guilt and CONFESS his guilt. So no, we do not think we are BETTER than an unbeliever. When an unbeliever points out hypocrisy and other weaknesses in a Christian's lifestyle, I would say, "Yep, we are aware of our weaknesses. Just read Pilgrim's Progress and see how many weaknesses we've got! John Bunyan laid out most of them, if not all, in that book clear back in 1678. So we've known for a lonnnng time how many ways we can deceive ourselves." If they read Pilgrim's Progress, maybe unbelievers will begin to understand the different levels of 'deceit of the heart'. Maybe it will level the playing field. Bunyan shows so many WRONG beliefs, and very clearly shows the struggle to stick to God's facts and not embellish them with our own rules. One of those rules being, we can't climb the fence and sneak in a back way. We MUST go in through the Gate (Jesus Christ). I wonder if we can buy Pilgrim's Progress in bulk, to distribute.
I don't know why we (Christians) even use the word "Easter" . (Just because it says that on our calendar maybe)...but Passover and The Holy Week are what we are celebrating. Everything is made of energy. This is true. Truth is true at every level, in all dimensions, in all disciplines: math, science, logic, spirit. The one true path is through the light, the Son, and is the only way. If you haven’t yet true faith in this, then seek truth. Raise it up as your god and make its seeking your highest priority. If you treat truth as divinity, and ask it to reveal itself to you in your HEART as well as your mind, asking SINCERELY for God to reveal absolute truth to you, then you’re ASSURED of revelation... just as The Bible tells us so. Ray, I realize that you want to bring the gospel to everyone, yet everyone is uniquely made and each requires an approach which suits him. His perspective to truth literally is not right, so the angle of approach must be modified to get the right pitch so it can reach the opening of his ears. Even the deaf have the ability to hear the Word of God. Some literally hear it and others, even when they have ears, only hear it when it effectively reaches their ears. Or when they see it. This man here cannot hear what you say because of the paradigm and language you’re using. You can put it terms he will understand- in the language of relativistic pluralism. Science. Logic. And then build a bridge with language back to Christ. He can’t hear the gospel because he immediately rejects its language.

This man's argument concerning other religions (i.e "What about all those who worship in other religions?") is a question that calls for a more satisfying answer than, "The Bible told me so." The truth is, the existence of the many religions men have developed is powerful evidence of at least two things that serve to establish the testimony in the Bible as the only viable truth. First, all religions are the result of people seeking some ultimate form of perfection, whether nirvana, or a balance of yin and yang, or some unified energy that binds all things together into one, or Allah or Buddha-every religion looks up to some goal higher than man's lower, unholy estate. The existence of death and suffering is real and works on man's soul to say that something is wrong. In other words, the existence of many religions seeking their own forms of god(s) is in itself strong evidence that men were created in the image of the God from whence they came. They all confess this in their own peculiar way. Second, since every religion is man's method to pursue some higher state, then by their own definition they each confess that each of us are presently in a lower state and in need of salvation from it. Each religion presents itself as that salvation, thereby confessing man's bondage of sin. As Ray Comfort points out, all religions except biblical faith say that man can erase his own misbehaviors and shortcomings by becoming better, yet in so doing, not only do they lie, but they each fail to address our past sins and the just consequences for them. No religion other than the biblical faith actually addresses the problem of sin head on so as to take responsibility for it past, present, and future. No religion deals reasonably with justice. Only the cross of Messiah Yeshua provides the means of fulfilling both true justice, true mercy, and true holiness. Only the cross of Messiah Yeshua provides the atonement necessary to address the real problem of mankind, which ALL religions confess: that man has a calling to perfection but is inherently corrupt, condemned to death, and in need of (their) salvation from his low estate.
@B4mytyme the reason people made blood sacrafices in the old testament was a simbol or a reminder that they needed to pay for their sins. so they always chose an animal without any blemishes, because that symbolized Jesus being perfect in our place. also there is the passover feast, where a lamb was killed and the blood was smeared on the door so that the angel of death would pass by. this was an act of trust, like the Jericho thing. just any human sacrifice would not pay for our sins.

And Kirk is right because blind faith never had anything to do with blind faith. In fact faith has never meant blind faith until very recently. It has always been akin to trustworthy in the Bible. This guy wants the evidential approach but Ray doesn't sway from the presuppositional and Biblical approach. The evidentiary approach might be good if it was the evidence that swayed us but most of the time the real reason is a a love for sin that they won't even consider God..

Quite interesting seeing some of these responses to Ray's evangelism method. It's very formulaic and occasionally lacks a personal touch but does a good job in recognising the sad reality of man's sinfulness, and only then will we truly appreciate the saviour Jesus Christ and what he did to save us.
I think it's important to note that we are not trying to coerce or recruit people into a religion. True Christianity is not merely a belief system where you follow a list of rules and principles. The gospel says that only by trusting in Jesus Christ as saviour, can you be reconciled with God, have your sins washed away, receive eternal life and find true purpose in life. That's not merely a religion-it's a wonderful, glorious truth!

If you committed any heinous crime and God adopted you (even if you were only going to live a short time on the earth) that is just another picture of His mercy to us. Even if you didn't repent, I am at peace knowing that God has everything under control and that His will is done and it is all for His glory. I would definitely miss my child, but knowing that they are in heaven- and even maybe in heaven with you- is not a bad thing at all. Heaven is said in the bible to be an incredible place. The fact that God allows any of us to be saved is such an amazing thing :)

Well, it's scary to have so many, many choices and thoughts. Everyone CAN'T be right, and they panic and end up trying to stay neutral. I don't think they do it to be idiotic or make excuses per se.
Conversion is not a one-time event, but rather a life-long journey---and only those who persevere until the end will be saved. Jesus explained it in the parable of the sower:

Something I would like to begin doing, for unbelievers who think Christians are 'self-righteous' is direct them, not just to the Bible (which truly has the answers to everything), but to Pilgrim's Progress. People need to understand that when a Christian does something wrong, that doesn't make CHRISTIANITY wrong. That merely means the person did not follow Christ in the matter. Remember that the first thing a person who surrenders to Christ does is ADMIT his guilt and CONFESS his guilt. So no, we do not think we are BETTER than an unbeliever. When an unbeliever points out hypocrisy and other weaknesses in a Christian's lifestyle, I would say, "Yep, we are aware of our weaknesses. Just read Pilgrim's Progress and see how many weaknesses we've got! John Bunyan laid out most of them, if not all, in that book clear back in 1678. So we've known for a lonnnng time how many ways we can deceive ourselves." If they read Pilgrim's Progress, maybe unbelievers will begin to understand the different levels of 'deceit of the heart'. Maybe it will level the playing field. Bunyan shows so many WRONG beliefs, and very clearly shows the struggle to stick to God's facts and not embellish them with our own rules. One of those rules being, we can't climb the fence and sneak in a back way. We MUST go in through the Gate (Jesus Christ). I wonder if we can buy Pilgrim's Progress in bulk, to distribute.

There is only one true light because there is but true absolute truth. Absolute truth is true absolutely. Just as there is only one sun, our one source of planetary power (including geothermal) we have but one absolute truth, one source of light and power. The Son. (See! God’s Word is always true!)
So, there are two ways: absolute truth and not absolute truth. One leads to God, who is absolute truth; the others may follow its course for awhile, but then fall away and digress, leading not to God, but away from Him. God is in energy: light. Everything is made of energy. This is true. Truth is true at every level, in all dimensions, in all disciplines: math, science, logic, spirit. The one true path is through the light, the Son, and is the only way.
If you haven’t yet true faith in this, then seek truth. Raise it up as your god and make its seeking your highest priority. If you treat truth as divinity, and ask it to reveal itself to you in your HEART as well as your mind, asking SINCERELY for God to reveal absolute truth to you, then you’re ASSURED of revelation...

Ray, I realize that you want to bring the gospel to everyone, yet everyone is uniquely made and each requires an approach which suits him. His perspective to truth literally is not right, so the angle of approach must be modified to get the right pitch so it can reach the opening of his ears. Even the deaf have the ability to hear the Word of God. Some literally hear it and others, even when they have ears, only hear it when it effectively reaches their ears. Or when they see it.
This man here cannot hear what you say because of the paradigm and language you’re using. You can put it terms he will understand- in the language of relativistic pluralism. Science. Logic. And then build a bridge with language back to Christ. He can’t hear the gospel because he immediately rejects its language.

This man's argument concerning other religions (i.e "What about all those who worship in other religions?") is a question that calls for a more satisfying answer than, "The Bible told me so." The truth is, the existence of the many religions men have developed is powerful evidence of at least two things that serve to establish the testimony in the Bible as the only viable truth.
First, all religions are the result of people seeking some ultimate form of perfection, whether nirvana, or a balance of yin and yang, or some unified energy that binds all things together into one, or Allah or Buddha-every religion looks up to some goal higher than man's lower, unholy estate. The existence of death and suffering is real and works on man's soul to say that something is wrong. In other words, the existence of many religions seeking their own forms of god(s) is in itself strong evidence that men were created in the image of the God from whence they came. They all confess this in their own peculiar way.
Second, since every religion is man's method to pursue some higher state, then by their own definition they each confess that each of us are presently in a lower state and in need of salvation from it. Each religion presents itself as that salvation, thereby confessing man's bondage of sin.
As Ray Comfort points out, all religions except biblical faith say that man can erase his own misbehaviors and shortcomings by becoming better, yet in so doing, not only do they lie, but they each fail to address our past sins and the just consequences for them. No religion other than the biblical faith actually addresses the problem of sin head on so as to take responsibility for it past, present, and future. No religion deals reasonably with justice. Only the cross of Messiah Yeshua provides the means of fulfilling both true justice, true mercy, and true holiness. Only the cross of Messiah Yeshua provides the atonement necessary to address the real problem of mankind, which ALL religions confess: that man has a calling to perfection but is inherently corrupt, condemned to death, and in need of (their) salvation from his low estate.

the reason people made blood sacrafices in the old testament was a simbol or a reminder that they needed to pay for their sins. so they always chose an animal without any blemishes, because that symbolized Jesus being perfect in our place. also there is the passover feast, where a lamb was killed and the blood was smeared on the door so that the angel of death would pass by. this was an act of trust, like the Jericho thing.

And Kirk is right because blind faith never had anything to do with blind faith. In fact faith has never meant blind faith until very recently. It has always been akin to trustworthy in the Bible. This guy wants the evidential approach but Ray doesn't sway from the presuppositional and Biblical approach. The evidentiary approach might be good if it was the evidence that swayed us but most of the time the real reason is a a love for sin that they won't even consider God..

Sir, when a person tells you that if somebody works on sabbath day they should be stoned according to the bible, you need to stop your normal speach and explain to them why and that we don't need to live rules from 3.000 years ago. We are saved by grace not by the law.

@mjr256 Read the new testament and you'l see that Jesus explains what the Sabbath truly means. The disciples did work on the Sabbath too and Jesus defended them and explained that they could. Funny that you think you know the bible, and yet the answer to your statement is found in the new testament.

1st, sin is a terrible thing. sin demands our pain and suffering. it demands BLOOD. god does not "love the smell of burning flesh". it's sad that money is the key to your salvation in a courtroom. but a for jesus to save our sins, he couldn't just hand the devil some money, because what's the most precious thing in the world? Jesus blood. the life of god. the only perfect life there is. that is the only thing that could pay for our sins.
