the fact that the sensei, instead of defending the city level attack, redirects it to Leland. And even if he HAD to redirect it for whatever reason, he redirects it straight towards Leland instead of any other place. Not only that but the sensei literally just taught them how to defend that exact attack, but they both just let themselves die. To be fair though the redirect probably caught Leland off guard, but Mark is definitely at fault.
