Come for the desk.
Stayed for the funk.
Well done.
This is what you call impactful No wasted banter right to the point make the desk incredible music what else you want? I loved this Even more than I thought I would
Amazing work. For us in India, it is absolute RARE to watch a lady carrying out the wood-work (carpentry).
Respect for your work 🙏
My son and I build this desk last week! We had a great time and we celebrated after with hugs :) I noticed we have the same tools, Makita Sander w/ rotating handle, Dewalt driver and Worx clamps from the Pegasis worxbench.. Anyhoot, thanks for the video
This comment alone made me smile. Thats what its all about. A Win-win. Father/son time and a nice project accomplished together. 🙌🏼
Nice video, well detailed without being overly complicated.
Beautiful work. Thanks for posting
WOW. This is awesome and you make it look SO SIMPLE! Thanks for sharing!!
Great build! Pride everytime you sit down at the desk 💕👍🏻
A lady with class 👏🏼
You made this look so easy! It looks beautiful and sturdy!
This is awesome and just what I’m looking to do!
Great build!.. like the color!
brilliant finish and very inspirational.
This was the easiest and most DIY thing Ive ever seen. Thank you. Awesome video.
i'm going to make one of these, i have a desktop computer but i dont have a desk and i spent all my money on my computer.... i look forward to using this design, it looks amazing!
Great build got me thinking about building one
Awesome job!
Neat! Definitely inspired me to crack on with my desk plans.
Great work 👏
Awesome video and great looking desk 👍🏼
Nice video! I loved the desk, looks soooo great 😊
Nice wood work Shana!!!
Thanks for inspiring me to make something, knocked one of these out today. Great video!
Well done, I like it!
Wow that nice table
This is stunning I’m going to try this!
Awesome! I hope it comes out great. I only use this desk occasionally, but if I used it more, I'd probably put a supporting brace along the back.
Shana's Workshop I will add one on to mine when I build it this week! Thanks for the tip!
I'm going to build mine today thanks for sharing
Very nice job!
I love this😊
No one likes watching long videos, but when you speed it up like you did makes a long video seem shorter. Lol ( even though it wasn't that long) the table looks awsome!! Thank you for sharing
Wuaoooo. Amazing..... thank you very much
.
Nice work!!
Nicely done
Yo i was jammin to this forgot what was goin on nice tunes
Thanks for the great video.
Awesome name...thanks 😊🖤 building myself a new nail desk soon
Nice build!
Love your channel! Subbed.
Noice, simple and beautiful
Lovely!!!❤
I have a free computer desk, looking for testers
🔥🔥🔥 Content
Great how to. Subbed.
WOW this is amazing. Thanks for showing us all the details it really helps showing step by step, Im definitely trying this out next weekend thank you 😊 O and you earned a SUB from me.
good job
Nice job! But for the life of me I don’t understand why anyone would down vote this video? Anyway, you do nice work and the finished product is sharp!
Thanks, Eric! There were some complaining that the desk would be too wobbly. In fact, it does have some movement, but works just fine as a computer desk. I did a modified version here, which is more stable: czcams.com/video/9LG1WuG4jec/video.html
Thanks
Awesome job! you make it look so easy lol.
Im 13 and i have confidence in making this! Should i do it?!!
Sure, go for it! Good luck hope it turns out well :)
Heck yes, just be safe. Be sure an adult supervises you
No
@ 6:19 I didn't see that.. Lol. Thanks, I love this simple desk, gonna build one for me!
lol! You got me!
Amazing work! Even better that you're a woman, I got really inspired! Thank you ☺️
What size screws did you use to attach the legs to the table top? Thank you, looks beautiful!
I fux wit it
It came out really nice. My wife is asking me to do one for my son. I'll use your method, minus the pocket screws since I don't have that.
Thank you! Hope it turns out well. I'm about to make another and I'm going to try dowels. I'll make another video if it's successful
@@ShanasWorkshop I hope so too. I just started my own YT channel as well, and I film my small projects. It's a lot of fun and time consuming both filming and editing. What program do you use to edit your videos??
@@reycavazos8342 good luck! (I just subscribed under my personal account). I use iMovie or Final Cut pro to edit
@@ShanasWorkshop thanks I subscribed to you as well. I will check those programs out, hopefully not too expensive. 🤭
Hi you did excellent. But there is a question for me when we add legs and we move the desk to our room isn't there slipperiness??
Thanks
Should have used pre stain. Pine is absorbent
It came out beautiful!
What color stain did you use? I really like it and I’m working on a kitchen table farm style bench.
Thank you! This is Minwax Espresso
Beat hittin' harder than an angry pimp!
LMAO!!
Girl, you got some serious tools there. I have to go purchase the wood; I have a hammer, nails, glues and spray paint. 😒🤫
Does the laptop overheat if you fold it like that while playing games?
Now can you post the hand tools only version?
It looks beautiful!!
Now I’m inspired on building a table for my pc, how strong is the desk??
Solid wood, stronger than any ikea desk you'll buy
it'll last years, wood is better than particle board, most of what you'll find in ikea
Hey shana, what is the blue thing at 1:40 that you used to drill the diagonal pocket holes?
Hi there! That's a Kreg K4 jig amzn.to/2BdVkDf (affiliate link)
0:22 ouch! My head!!
For some reson the music reminds me of grand turismo 2
What size screws did you use ?
Does your desk move side to side?
For the table top, instead of connecting 2by4s, is it hard to find a big thick plank of wood?
You could use plywood or one of those glued panels that the big box stores sell. They're just not as thick
Hello, Nice video. I want to try this build. Can you tell me what type of wood did you use? Thanks.
2' x 4' x 8' boards - have fun!
Two 2x6x8 boards for the top if you’re a bit lazier like me :)
What are the measurements of the desk top?
nice music
His Shana, This desk is great. I have a question, did you have stability problems, because there is nothing that joint the legs, they are just attached to the top?
Hi there! Good question, yes, the desk does have a bit of side to side movement. I would add a cross brace between the back legs if it did this again
I created a new version of this desk that is more stable here: czcams.com/video/9LG1WuG4jec/video.html
Didn´t i see one of the pocket screws come off the side of one of the legs? Did this lady see her mistake and later insert a shorter scew? I hope she did. Nice simple desk anyway!!!
Nice desk. I wouldnt of use screws to laminate the desk.top... also connecting the supports.. i would have just glued the boards for top and used zclips or similar to attach to supports to allow movement. Still would have been cheap but last a lot longer. Cheers
You’re trying to tell me that screws and glue isn’t better and won’t last longer than just glue?
Thanks Kyle. On the first few desks I made, I was worried that only glue wouldn't hold. I've made a couple with only glue (and biscuits) since this video and I agree they were probably overkill for this one
@@willengram7091 thats right. Screws will not allow movement
Have you had any issues with the seams of the desktop (splitting or lifting)? Planning on building one and curious due to box stores moisture content of their wood.
I have built a few this way and I haven't had that specific issue in 2-3 years time. The main issue with this one was that it was a bit wobbly. I'd recommend some kind of brace between the 2 legs to minimize that
Sorry I replied under the wrong account, but it's me lol
Nice. I assumed you got your wood from one of the big box stores. Thanks for the reply.
What stain color did you use? Looks amazing!
Minwax espresso. I love that color. Thank you!
Do you guys know if big box hardware stores can precut the wood for you?
Yes, I know at Home Deopt they will cut the wood for you but they may limit you to a certain number of cuts✂️
How long did you let the glue set for before sanding?
I don't remember on this particular one, but usually I let it sit overnight
What length boards did you buy? You mention using qty=6 2×4s... are they 6, 8, or 10 foot long boards?
Did she ever answer you ? I’m wondering too
I took a snap of while it was going through the machine. It says 2x4 92 5/8”
Thanks, Ashley!
Question, what type of stain is that?
Minwax espresso: amzn.to/35b3KrF
cool, but I would have used a different wood than pine, although I guess it is good for a budget desk. ( I assume it's pine that you're using )
2x4 are Douglas fir
Aight noice
What's an alternative to the pocket hole tool?
You could use dowels or biscuits to hold the tabletop together. I've heard of people just using glue, but you might want to build a bit more stability into the base
Fill them before you paint and you won't see the holes
What happened at 6:20 ? Screw went through the other side
Is the desk sturdy? It doesn’t wiggle etc?
It does wiggle. You'd want to add another support along the back, or check out my part 2 where I added some shelves
The only tool I have is hand saw and none of these fancy tools and no computer
all it takes it some time and dedication to save up for a few tools to make it possible! ( or you could just buy one from Ikea if you are on a budget )
I’d add a cross bar in the back...
Nice, many next time you could list parts and tools in description
Thanks for the suggestion - just listed those for you
Does it wable at all?
It does have a bit of movement. I created another version that's much sturdier here: czcams.com/video/9LG1WuG4jec/video.html
🦋❤👍🏽
Though not the most difficult desk to make in the world, this would only be "easy" if you have a full sized woodworking shop loaded with tools and experience to use them.
A skill saw and a solid core door would make the job easier for someone that doesn't have the tools. For years I used 2 filing cabinets and a solid core door for a table/workbench.
Can you please print directions
Nice, what is the music?
ES_A Tribute to Gold - Duke Herrington is the first song. I get my music from www.epidemicsound.com
Nevermind that screw sticking way out. Just overlook it
Well if you were looking for perfection, you found the wrong channel. LOL I did fix it, though.
Yea looked good in the end. I found it funny atm. I know it was taken care of
What type of stain is that?
Minwax espresso: amzn.to/35b3KrF
Are those 2x4x8?
Yes ma'am
The hardest part of this build is finding that many straight two by fours. You won’t find any at Home Depot that’s for sure.
Does it wobble??
It does wobble a bit - a cross-brace along the back would help. I made another similar one that is quite a bit sturdier. There's a new link in the description to that one
Question? Does the glue help with gaps between boards. Wanting to make daughter a desk for homeschooling.
If you'd like to build it without gaps in the boards, you could cut off the rounded edges of the 2x4s with a table saw or planer/jointer before you start building.
Thanks so much
At 6:21 a pocket hole screw goes completely through. Too long of a screw. Ooooppppps.
oops! lol
No stretcher? That boy gonna wiggle
that boy do wiggle a little. I made some adjustments on a second one, link is in the description.
