Had a car with very bad mold problems tried bleach, and ozone treatments nothing worked, then used vinegar and water half and half killed the mold permanently__ it doesn't remove the mold stain but stops it growing__ a little bleach will get rid of the stain. Love the little house what more does anyone need, such a lovely spot.

@@Rubeauti Bleach is the best for killing the mold, and it should stop it from comming back, or keep it under control, if the wall is made out of wood studs and drywall, you should tear out the drywall to check if there is mold growing in the wall on the wood. if there is, scrub the wood with the mold on it thats in the wall with a scrub brush and straight bleach, then let it air out and dry completely, then repair the drywall.

hell ya, it looks nice. I might move there for a few months and write a book. You can dry underneath the sink with the fan or hair dryer and then coat it with paint and the mold will be greatly reduced, it will come back but not within several weeks. What are the quickest solution is to dump a gallon bucket of boiling water with bleach on it and then mop that up, you have to repeat that every couple days

The good thing is you can easily move. Get yourself a squeegee to help you move the water to the drain. Mold needs moisture so fix any leaks that might exist and scrub with a brush and soapy water then spray with a chlorine and water mixture . If you have one put a fan down there to dry it out. Good advice you are giving. You have a comfortable place but many westerners might have difficulty living in a house like yours because we have grown accustomed to more comforts. Many will say oh no problem but over time it will become a problem for most in my opinion.

Everyone telling you how to get rid of the mold you have now, which most have told you how to do, but the important thing is to stop it in the first place.
I would suggest you find where the leak is and if you can, block it, if not, put something under it to catch the leak.
If it is from the drain, and you don't have a way to stop it, put a bowl or something below to stop the drips, or when using the sink, wrap a piece of cloth around the area leaking, and then when finished, dry the cloth.
It may be harder if it is from the water coming in, but you could still use a cloth to absorb, and then swap out and dry.
It is important to get rid of mold, but if you don't get rid of the source it will keep coming back.

A lot of suggestions to use bleach to kill the mould ( the correct way of spelling )
Asa rule, bleach doesnt kill mould, it inhibits the growth & slows it down unless you use industrial double strength chlorine bleach.- breathing in chlorine bleach is just as bad if not worse than mould.
A much simpler & i suggest cheaper solution is to use isopropyl alcohol or 70-75% alcohol which if i remember correctly is in a green bottle labelled Greens isocol or sanitiser alcohol in the Philippines and is really quite cheap.
Douse or soak the area and allow it to penetrate & evaporate..

@JC I know a bit about mold and what you are saying is not true at all and you like some of these other guys are not protective of Filipinos and give advice without responsibility. Alcohol does not usually kill mold it dries it and mostly does not kill it. There are still airborne deadly spores. If you guys were in the Philippines and your advice made her sick you could be prosecuted. I am American and my kids are dual citizens and I am never surprised how much people are careless about Filipinos. I have confronted many foreigners about how they treat them and reported sex tourists. Mold is spelled mold in English..

Do that for one hour, repeat it a few days later again. After around 2 weeks of treatments depending on the resideu and small cracks. It may appear again half a year later but repeating the process should do it. Always use open windows and doors to let it air dry as fast as possible.

If it's not sorted make a live video and there will be 30 plumbers to help :)
FIx the leaks and check under the floor. Soak the wood in bleach :)
Just don't seal the thread on compression fittings or it'll still leak. Might be a seal/O-ring on the trap or the plug might need to come apart and be cleaned and silicone.
Could get some 2nd hand bigger water containers with taps & run a cord up top to save room down stairs. Or a rechargeable battery light

    Hi!
I just wanted to add to and clarify my comments below. The wipe should be soaked in either isopropyl alcohol, or another Black Mold killer. This way when you wipe, the spores hit the wet rag, and stick to it, a dry rag is no good, as it will allow the spores to become airborne.
So if the rag is folded into quarters, you make a single pass with the wipe, fold the rag over to a clean side, and repeat. 1 wipe for each clean quarter of the rag. Also, wear gloves, a mask, and then dispose of the rags into a sealed plastic bag. Use of fans as stated below is also recommended.
    Hopefully, this helps some folks.

Mould: obvious because water is leaking. First repeat the leak. ( maybe the water faucet connection/ or the drainage tube has no seal with the sink)
When it is dry , you can remove the black would mould with vinegar or baking soda or soda cristals

Yes, spray diluted bleach or white vinegar. White vinegar is more eco friendly

Love it, thanks for sharing. Important details in your story. Contracts are important! Shame on the rental agent.
    Too bad everyone uses Fakebook.

In the bathroom, that is very common in Asia that they don't build the floor with a slight slope towards the drain so water won't collect in middle of floor. I've experienced that in Bali, Indonesia at a few different rentals.

Congratulations on your new place. Miss your long beautiful hair but you are pretty in short just as well. Has to be cooler for you. I admire you and your sense of adventure and strength and willingness to live in the beautiful countryside. It may be more work than city life but probably well worth it with the privacy. Try vinegar on your mold problem. This should kill the mold down to its root if that is a wood floor. Thanks for the video. Stay beautiful. 😎

Hi Ruby Charlie, from America. I am coming to Cebu in September. But Siquijor Philippines is absolutely on my list of places to visit. I started in Mexico two years ago. I was considering staying there, but Asia was calling and so I gave up my apartment and went to Vietnam in November and December. I am back to Boston now since the holidays here but back out traveling next week Mexico and then back to Vietnam on a 90 day visa April May and June. thank you for this informative video. You are very articulate and I appreciate everything you do. I’ve been invited to Cebu Phillipines I’m not sure how long I will stay in the Philippines. It is a great big world with beautiful people everywhere. I think I will like the Philippines. I will look forward to more of your videos, Thank you Ruby.. have a nice day. 👋

Oh, this is super interesting! I was in Siquijor last December, and the only good accommodation I had there cost almost 70 euros per night if I remember correctly. Then I left to check out Panglao, but I regretted it. Tbh the best part of my one-month vacation was in Siquijor. And this house is really cute, seems comfy (not counting the spot under the sink), plus what is shocking to me is that it appears to be totally quiet.
I also had difficulties with working out, but I managed to get a resistance band from Decathlon in Manila. Next time I'm traveling I'll be sure to take one with me.

Yes Siquijor is definitely my faborite Island in the Philippines so far. Living cheap in a paradise. I just found a gym today close to my place but I don't plan to pay for gym. I ordered some resistance band and matt already. Maybe if I can find shop in fb groups too here in Siquijor that are selling some dumbells. It would be perfect. haha

@@Rubeauti Yes, I feel the same: I've been working out for over 15 years, and never visited a single gym, always did it at home. Are you working out regularly? Maybe that's why you're so aesthetic - I think it's quite noticeable, but I wasn't sure if it's just genetics. Yeah, buying dumbbells in Siquijor might be challenging, haha. I had a funny scare while I was staying there btw... I went to Paliton beach, and since my phone is "waterproof" I took it into the water with me. Then, the next day it started to develop a charging issue, and afterwards it simply stopped charging. I was so scared, since my phone was my only device with me, it had all my bookings, airplane tickets, etc., and I couldn't buy a wireless charging pad anywhere... 😄 Fortunately I managed to find a helpful tip on the internet (using my almost fully drained phone) about washing it out with non-salty water, and after repeating that multiple times it was finally back to life again.
