    I tried one the lock out is cool but for the actual shifter the bdh blows it out the water in terms of build quality and that robustness of changing gears. I’m someone whom is very lucky to grow up with mk2 escort and rs cosworths I honestly don’t think you will get a closer feeling with the BDH to the real thing

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing  Před 6 měsíci +3

      Oh definitely the bdh is more robust, you can really hammer on that shifter and I definitely have. I'm still liking the bash more but then again, it's exactly what I've been looking for these past couple years feeling wise.

    Thanks for this video and all your videos on this channel and your main channel. Im on the waitlist for the next batch and was unsure about getting it. Great that you have 1st hand experience with all the high end shifters. Any recommendations on a pedal set with a realistic clutch feel to pair with this shifter? Please keep on keeping on

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing  Před 5 měsíci

      I have not felt any pedal set with a convincing clutch pedal. I have had to modify every pedal set I've owned to feel more like what I expect. Keep in mind I have never felt a top quality clutch pedal, only consumer level sports cars.

  • @CrashD6

    This should really become the standard, the whole point of simulation is to get as close as possible to the real thing, and this shifter does just that! Sure, you can still immerse yourself banging gears without any consequence with all the others, but none will ever get as close to reality than this!
    (I just wish I wasn't too broke to buy this shifter, oh well, I guess my $50,00 Aliexpess shifter will do for now! xD)

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing  Před 6 měsíci +3

      There is an attachment that connects directly to the knob threads that can extend your gear amount, I believe.

    • @gerzsone30
      @gerzsone30 Před 6 měsíci +5

      Hi. There is a dedicated "truck" mode in the shifter software. As soon as it recognizes you're playing ETS2 or ATS, it switches to a different mode. The shifter work seamlessly together with the game logic, meaning you're never off sync with the game. If you're grinding gears, you won't get past the gate. The game wants you to shift slow, you have to play by their rules. :) The truck shift knob is just another nice extra, but not a requirement.

    I hate to be the 1st one to say it if I am but the shift knob you are un-happy with is $15-$25 canadian with prime (I know because I have the same one) so that being said I'm not sure how much material your and components your overpaying for vs the RND and completed unit prepared for you shipped to your door. At almost $1300 USD I think I'd expect a bit more tbh. I guess this all being said if you have a sim set up worth 10k+ your money is your money so spend it as you please

    Does it have a clutch pedal?

      The shifter? No, just uses whatever clutch pedal you are already using.

    • @mjmellan
      @mjmellan Před 6 měsíci +1

      @SleepyPantsSimRacing so the set up does have a clutch pedal, 3 pedals, clutch left, break middle, eccelerator right, some set ups just have two peddles or you can change gears without having to use the clutch which in real life it wouldnt let you change gears plus it would crunch & grind you gears teeth into metal shards. ⚙️🔧⚙️, when we were teens my older brother bought a 125cc dirt bike & put the engine into a 160cc frame he was changing gears without a clutch cable like a moron & shattered the gear box into a can of springs.

    • @SleepyPantsSimRacing
      @SleepyPantsSimRacing  Před 6 měsíci

      That neat I suppose, I'd wanna use the clutch peddle to be as real as possible, you can use VR head sets too can't you so you can look down at you legs & out the rear window & in the car etc.

      Also at $1100 your shifter should have been tested before being shipped and would have known it didn’t work. Also at the price it should have a better look with smooth sides and not nut sticking out and a box to house the electronics. Also an option in shift knobs or at least color options

    I have one of these and I absolutely hate it. The gates are not rounded which feels awful, the shifting action is far too harsh, it's extremely fucking loud, it takes too long to change gear which slows me down, it's quite sharp and I've cut myself on it several times, it occasionally disconnects, and the sequential mode is absolutely useless.
