Hey everyone Just leaving a comment to let you all know that codemasters have released version 1.7.0 of this game. I can happily say that my stuttering performance is now at a minimul for me. Playing this on medium graphics with fps cap set 120 and texture filtering set to performance in Nvidia control panel seems to be working for me.
I just went and did the same Vitova stage + same Puma Rally 1 car as yours and I don't have any stuttering. I already have my FPS limited in Nvidia control panel long ago due to my freesync monitor so maybe that's why I didn't have stuttering issues. I did turn down the car reflection and mirror settings down to medium and have DLSS on at quality with 60 sharpness.
Might be just me then so. Just for further context. I'm on a GTX 1660TI GPU along with an AMD ryzen 7 cou. I'll keep on tweaking it until the stuttering is resolved for me
@@sbsimulators6913I'm on a RTX 2070 Super GPU with a Ryzen 5 3600. I also tweaked my settings further after reading suggestions online. Anti aliasing at High, DLSS on Quality with sharpness at 60, Car reflection and Mirrors at medium as before. Shadows at medium. Crowds at medium, Dynamic objects to High or below, The rest on Ultra/High depending on your available resources. And it goes without saying I have the FPS limited inside Nvidia control panel. Hope you can get your stuttering fixed.
@@samwch16992 Thanks Sam, I appreciate that. I really want to like this game in its current state. But until I can resolve the stuttering it's really hard to do so. I'll try your settings on it and see if that will work
@@sbsimulators6913Glad I could help. My experience with EA WRC has been decent so far. I was there at the beginning when the game launches as I had Xbox PC game pass active and I have 5 hours trial of the then newly released EA WRC. I had owned Dirt Rally and 2.0 as well as WRC 7 9 10 and Generations so I have pretty high expectations for this game, and as we know it's release state is pretty crappy. While my stutter is not as bad as the ones I've seen others had it's still enough to dissuade me from getting the game. Then in the recent Steam Spring Sale, the game is on 60% discount, so I was tempted and gave in. I bought it but didn't put much time in it because I was busy with another game (Cyberpunk 2077) until now. I ran it with all settings at high at first, the game runs far better than my experience in the launch days but it's not as smooth as I liked it. Now after tweaking the settings, it's still not 100% buttery smooth, but is playable 98% of the time. I did some stages in Monte Carlo, Japan, Central Europe, Oceania, Portugal, Italy and the game is very playable. While the game doesn't look that great compared to Dirt Rally 2.0, which is the benchmark of modern rally games. It beats the WRC games by KT Racing hands down in terms of the sound department. The car modelling is also far better compared to KT racing's WRC games. Take a look at the cars in WRC Generation in the showroom, the lighting is bad and the model looks flat, especially the older WRC cars like the Subaru Impreza.
Question. Does your degree of rotation match your moza wheel? I have the r5 and despite calibration and software setting to 540 the game only gives me 200 in the degrees of rotation. So it feels weird because the animation doesn’t match my wheel. I know you play without the in game wheel but figured I’d ask. Maybe it’s a bug?
@@sbsimulators6913 I got it figured out. Set software to 540. Then in game calibration step 1: full lock clockwise step 2: counter clockwise to -34 or -35 just between. So weird but it works. Having a blast. Thanks for your response. Subd
I find driving is good on soft grounds but on tarmac feel wrong, i have a freeze frame every 15-20 seconds and it’s very annoying, in 4k max settings I drive at 80-85 fps with dlss off. Frequent crash to desktop both in race and in menu. 4070ti and 13700, cammus 15nm.
Interesting review. An EA/CM representative commented on Discord that there haven’t been any changes in the physics or handling. I haven’t noticed any either. Maybe you just want to like the game more now?
Okay I'll be honest I wasn't aware of the comment the EA representative made on discord so I'll put my hand up and say my bad on that one 😔 But yeah, you're right in saying that I do enjoy it more than I did when I first reviewed it.
Somebody mentioned in the comments that it might be a few updates to the firmware of my Moza wheelbase which could have been why I was feeling a difference. Still I like the game more then I did at launch
@@sbsimulators6913 hey, that's great! I was not bashing you at all btw. I too thought the game was handling weird at launch but there was a bug that turned on assist even if you had them disabled. This massively affected the handling.
I play sincd release day and did not notice visual changes or changes in the driving phsics. Unllike Dirt Rally 1.0 the EA WRC cars can't drift through corners. Whenever the car sbould go into the drift it feels like someone hits the front brakes: the back turns round even further but the car will not get around the corner.
@@sbsimulators6913 "Dirt" and "Dirt Rally" are two different game series by Codemasters. The Dirt games were very arcadey and not always fun to drive. Dirt Rally on the other hand was quite good to me too except that with Dirt Rally 2.0 they removed the ability to drift through corners as it was in Dirt Rally 1.0. 🙂
That tarmac really looks way too loose. Tar shouldn't allow much slip angle before you lose a lot of traction. It almost looks like you're floating when you turn without it gripping or making the tyres squeal.
I had no experience at all w this title before the April3 1.70 release, so.. rose-colored glasses for me. same R9 wheelbase, rtx4070s @5760x1080, dlss3 on may be why I get single stutter, didn’t have it before the switch. I don’t see where physics was addressed in the 1.60 or 1.70 release notes, but I have had a few wheel hub driver updates from moza that are soo good that I even picked up nord.for acc on april1. Wrc, imho improved 2.0 except in establishing a career mode and pavement grip. Oh, soundtrack rocks almost. Ty will try the control panel fps 120 suggestion and or mirrors etc.
