Anton is not just a great science communicator, he's a great guy.
U know him?
I'd argue, he's a wonderful person.
@@bigfishoutofwater3135 No argument from me. 😀
He murdered my whole family, stole my literal identity, and framed me as himself. His real name is Ricky Diamond-Christ. And me? I’m Anton Gonzalez Petrov! I’m out of prison, but I’m out for revenge. Damn you, Ricky Diamond-Christ!!
Learn and laugh at the same time! ,,,,,priceless,,,,
I'm really happy China decided to share this map with the rest of the world. Scientific knowledge should be as free as possible and translated across world's main languages. I wish we had access to more of the research done at different universities around the world.
Agreed, it seriously improves the lives of a lot of people when cooperation can occur.
CHINA #1 WOOHOO!!!!!!!
Good ol’ SLIM surviving another shady night. Has earned the Slim Shady title
Slim Dusty look up the name
Now we just gotta get all the real slim shadies to please stand up.
Will real SLIM Shady please stand up?

At age 75 one feels thankful to see our return to the Moon
😅 good luck
I drive a very old Toyota and I'm not at all surprised that their lunar lander is still working. It'll probably last another fifteen years before it needs maintenance.
Anton is a force of positivity who gives me a goal to live up to every time he says " hello, wonderful person"
You are correct, Anton. Cooperation with China would be in the best interest of both countries. Politics and ideology have prevented this, so far. Humans have a hard time getting along.
Thanks for the lunar updates!
Well put and worded better than I could. Thanks.
Science has always been above politics sort of
" ... comments mentioning China ... let's move on; let's talk about Japan. Everyone loves Japan, right? Yay!" Well done, Anton. That was wonderful.
Be well, wonderful person.
SLIM is a samurai. It's not expected to die just like that.
Good luck to all engineers & astronauts 👏 you are all wonderful people
One of the great things about being an engineer is, the vast majority of us are not political at all. We just want to accomplish something and push technology forward. We always struggle with upper management and politicians who want us to hide information and to not tell the truth.

Hello wonderful Anton.
Agree hope we get a lot of awesome collaboration 🎉
Space is a great way to build collaboration and understanding among superpowers. China and the US may be different in many ways but space transcends borders. Hopefully we see that collaboration in the next 10-20 years
Serenity….no politics allowed….
Anton just updating everyone on moon mission info.3.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Seems like that JAXA lander was build extremely well.
Coming to a rest almost upside down, still deploying probes and collecting data.
I'll be sipping my 1 liter tea jug and say cheers to the engineers, that managed to build their equipment that well.
I hope that you, who read this has a fine and peaceful weekend.
It was built with Toyota hilux parts. Beaten, abused but still reliable, refusing to die
"Everyone loves Japan right?"
Every east asian and south east asian: 💀
he lives in South Korea
There are four countries in East Asia: China, Japan, South Korea, and North Korea.
If the Chinese, South Koreans and North Koreans have anything in common, it is that the country they hate most must be Japan.😂
Only South Korea, North Korea and China. East Asian nations like Taiwan love Japan. And every South East Asian nations be it Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia every country in south east Asia love Japan.
I'm in Taiwan, and I love Japan!

Yay Japan!
NASA-CAR moon buggy racing!
Great of China to open source the moon, great of Jaxa for being outstandingly Japanese and great hope for the new Antarctica!
Don't know why they don't keep it all to themselves.
I mean, the US barred China from joining the ISS, and in all Chinese space mission the US never stop criticize and throw rocks at them.
The Chinese must be way beyond stupid to open source the moon map.
SLim may be working because it is allowed to warm up for a long time before it starts charging and trying to operate. If the PC boards try to run while very cold because there is power right away, there may be hot (warm) and cold spots resulting in extra stresses at connections. It may not require almost two weeks of warming but most craft try to start "doing science" as soon as possible.... perhaps some patience to allow for temperature equalization would help all of these probes.
agreed. very insightful. there should be lengthy earth bound experiements on this to determine exactly when its ok robot to start working agaon.
... not so much for conquest, but for international cooperation 🖖🏻
why would we have to go to the moon for that . . .
THANK YOU ANTON 👍🏼
My guess: the upturned engines act like a heat sink to temper the temperature variations.
I do hope that the Chinese mission will be successfull , it will be the first time rocks from the far side of the moon will be brought back to Earth... And the Japanese and US missions showed us again how difficult it remains.
cannot trust them.
They literally won't share good data what would benefit them
@@burnburn645 as opposed to the US? Come on.. I'm not a fan of China, but US is as bad as them and Russia

Anton is the man. I appreciate you, brother.❤
Yay a real video and not just a compilation! Welcome back!
Man's allowed a break now and then.
@@wimwiddershins Yea, the content is daily and it's weird how he doesn't have more breaks.
I admire his perseverance.
If the Chinese extend their streak of space successes with Change'e 6, they look like contenders to plant the first post-Apollo footprints on the moon, and achieve the first MSR. Maybe they'll send NASA a couple of grams.
That Japanese Slim just keeps on keeping on!
thank you Anton, you truly are the master of consistency!
I would be so excited about a collaboration between NASA and the Chinese Space Agency, but I think it would only work well if everything went smoothly. I can't even imagine the finger-pointing if something went wrong, and that might mess things up for a long time to come. So what might be nice is for countries that aren't on perfect terms to keep going on their own, but being more open about both successes and failures. That way no one could blame the "other side" for anything, but we'd all still be learning and growing
The so-called *_"finger pointing"_* is a trademark of the United States of America
The Chinese didn't do anything, didn't say anything, and didn't try to block US from launching their own space missions. As for the USA, they set up all kinds of road blocks, they hurl all types of insinuations and insults at the Chinese.
@@verypleasantguy Although I'm neither American nor Chinese, I think you're probably right. But neither side (and actually, this is true for many other countries, too) is very open about their satellites, technology... I understand as it can be a military and defensive issue, but I still think that it would be a positive thing for science, globally, from basically all countries.
My theory on how the components on the Japanese lander are surviving... Take a circuit board. Any ol circuit board. Look at it. See all those chips and stuff soldered on there? Now turn it upside down. See that side? That's the side radiating heat outwards into space, while the other side is receiving the miniscule amount of stored heat radiating from the surface. Getting captured in a lander who's most solid part is holding that down, bringing those temperatures up ever so minutely. It's not a good theory, but I defy someone to give me a better one.
pretty sure that if it wasnt some intentional design choice for that exact reason the components would be put on both sides, since thats already an old and established practice..
@@unitrader403 jaxa scientists didn't build it to last. They were confident it would die in the lunar night. Something happened which is why it's surprising that it is still not dead. It will be worrying if it survives a year, we need to retrieve it, if it survives multiple years on moon
Had a good chuckle from that little "yaaaay..." 😆
I've been saying it since the begining, people keep discounting this Japanese mission, but really they are the first to soft land upside down on the moon, its realy not a bad thing!
Anton, you speak and I understand; you are communicating. Thank you for your great work!
Wonderful as always Anton. Thank you. 🤘😎
dog labels what a nice surprise, will have some fun with this
shiba to the moon
You should follow up in a few years to see if lander designs have changed in order to make "oops, it fell over" less of a problem.
No matter who makes advances in space research, they're Humans, improving Human space research. Even if they're my enemy, or someone I don't like, I'm still happy to see someone moving us forward as a species.
If all world cooperated together, we can find more information about Moon. No politics.

Anton is a positive force against ai “science“
They "yay" with the hand wave killed me 😂😂😂
so glad anton is calling out the china bashers. they probably arent even interested in science in the first place
Maybe they are interested in human rights
@@MattyNiceZMMaybe so. But if those same people don't bash scientific results of NASA simply because, say, the US gov decided to invade Irak, murder thousands, "torture some folks" and open up Guantanamo Bay for business, I would question that human rights are their primary motivation to have that kind of reaction.
@@MattyNiceZM American politicians are interested in Xinjiang Muslim Chinese human rights than Gaza Muslim Palestinians human rights, so strange since they hate Chinese so much..😂😂😂

Thank you!
Woah only 12,000 craters. Moon must be little.
Exciting times, thanks Anton.
Perhaps SLIM is still alive because the lunar surface rocks act as a storage heater and the unexpected attitude means that it's in better thermal contact with the underlying ground. (That is, it's not sitting on it's legs.)
Thank you for the report.

3:38' Oh'look, a rock!
The idea of the moon being split up like Antarctica sounds wonderful to me. Japan really got shafted when it came to that process. Hopefully we can behave better by the time we do the same with the moon.

"We landed on the moon!" - Lloyd Christmas, 1994
Hey man I love Japan It's only country I would move to other than staying here
stuff like a one off lunar ice drill is like the first one of these anyone has made for this purpose. Once you see how stuff like this performs on the moon, you can start to design things like a mass produced one for a fleet of autonomous ice miners.
Thanks again. Very informative. Couldn't a few runways be printed?
5:21 because the inside of the moon is filled with solar radiation absorbed over 4.5 billion years and solar panels on module absorbing absorbed energy of moon, being upside down n' all...☺️

It's great that the whole world is getting to the moon. However, does anybody know what the plans are for the junk we leave up there?
It's great how the Japanese were considerate enough to make their lunar photos look a lot like the ones from the Apollo missions. j/k
Hello Anton, i'm majoring in Astronomy, i Would ask where i can read Papers or more detailed infos about astronomy, i follow some newsletter but i would like to know more. Any suggestion?
Thanks for your job, keep going!
Its amazing how little we know about the moon, It seems to be Rich in all kinds of useful material. Why send such a advanced rover to mars and never send one that advanced to the moon?
I agree with you VERY much about China and the US
Crazy how we managed to do a bunch of success moon landings in the 1960s and 70s. Yet we are struggling now.
Why is this?
Money, it's not that confusing. We invested significantly more in space back in the 60's and 70's, compared to now.
That's also why China is kicking out butts today. They invest significantly more on research etc, than we do
Outpost, not a colony.
Being optimistic about international co-operation is good, but unlikely to survive when one country starts mining and claims territory.
Is there any seismic activity on the Moon ? A detector that sends back the sounds would be cool to leave if so. We could all tune in online.
