I appreciate how you guys consistently tell us where gear fits on the touring / adventure / commuting / off road spectrum.
P.s. If Sedici is Italian, it would be “say-dee-chee.” But then we are in the USA and can say it however we want. Just don’t want you to get in trouble with Anthony.

I need a boot to prevent a broken / crushed ankle.

Real ADV rider won't want a waterproof boot. Creek crossing, where you get a little deep and the water goes over the top. The boot won't dry any time soon. ADV go with non waterproof, and get a high calf or knee high water proof sock. You can carry extra pair of sock with you, and a non waterproof boot will dry out after a creek crossing. When you are still wearing them. Waterproof boots is no joy once water comes over the top. It looks like a good option for GS riders that spend 99% of the time on the highway.

Not CE rated for safety ?

They feel as robust as any CE boot (not a hard standard to meet at all), but since Sedici is only sold in the US they don't need to test to the ratings of European manufacturers, like most American brands.

I have zero problems shifting with these boots on my Scrambler 1200.

I just tried on these boots at my local Cycle Gear store. They fitted me very tight so I tried on a whole size larger and it was a slight improvement. And yes it felt like it would be extremely hard to shift gears on. I went instead with the Low Verdici w.p. boots. A lot better fit and flexibility.
