      I have seen now in several videos that there is several thing this guy does not fully understand or have the wrong understanding about. This video he obviously does not understand the differences between membranes and why certain brands as Gore-Tex bring additional quality aspects to the products function. Don't blindly trust youtubers just because they seem to know what they are talking about.

    I hit ice going about 70 on the freeway last year, did a nice long slide on the asphalt. These boots saved my leg/ankle. They barely have a scratch. More recently dumped by adv bike on a muddy Jeep trail, I think it was the difference between a fracture and a bone bruise on my tibia. Definitely money we’ll spent.

    After app. 4000 km in them I can confirm very comfortably right from the start, 100% watertight and the best protected boots I have seen in 40 years of riding. Only two downsides: They are relatively heavy (because they protect off course) and not all trousers will go over them. Specially rain gear can be a problem so you will have to take the boots off to get in to your rain gear…

    Had the Forma Adventure boots for 7 seasons, they were waterproof, very comfortable and good protection for 200 euros. This year i've bought the SIDI Adventure 2 Goretex which are even better at all the preview characteristics within 300 euros price mark. Those boots from Rev'it are over 600 euros...i mean...come on...if you weren't sponsored by them, you wouldn't pay this much for a pair of boots 100%. You'd say, buy a decent pair of boots for half the price and with the rest of the money go travel! 300 euros for a pair of boots and with the 300 left you can buy aprox 230L of petrol and that's around 4500km. I see the guys from USA in the comment section saying those are 900 USD in America...hahaha what a joke...

    OK, I guess I've got to be the skunk at the picnic...Yes, great boots from a great company with great minds working on the gear (I've met some of the tech ppl behind this stuff). I have these boots. Yes, super protective (just look up the video from RawHyde Adventures laying down a GS on the earlier version of these boots without any deformation!!)...They are an amazing platform for standing on the bike...hours with no fatigue. THAT SAID, they have some serious downsides. First, of course, is the cost...Even high-end ski boots aren't this expensive and they're WAY more important to performance in the activity (and way more engineering) than a moto boot. Second, the BOA system is cool, but it's tough to get a proper toes-to-top fit because the system tightens from the TOP...so you need to yank those thin plastic "laces" from the toes FIRST, then crank the boa ratchet...pretty annoying. But my biggest gripe is the GIGANTIC shin guard!! I have about 4 different ADV pants in my inventory (even a pair of REV'IT Stratums) and they DO NOT fit over the shin guard. Tuck the pants into the boot...fine...but I don't like riding like that and find it uncomfortable after a while (depending on the pants). So I'm restricted to the gear I wear with these boots bcs I can't get a clean fit over them. Keep these gripes in mind when you're thinking of plunking down a grand on a pair of moto boots brothers...

      I've got the redit discovery boots with the same BOA system and you are quite right: they tighten from the top and feel loose around the foot area. The metal 'laces' are sheathed in plastic too and on one boot the plastic has started to come off so they catch, particularly when taking them off. More R&D required I think, especially at this price.

    Good review. I've got a lot of Rev'It gear and it's always been good quality. Most of it is priced below the more popular brands. Lately though, the prices do seem to be creeping up higher. But commensurate with that is a better R&D on their products where the durability and quality gets higher each generation. That's what you want to see though, they are taking their profit and investing it back into better quality materials and improvements in ergonomics.
    Rev'It didn't pay me or anything, lol. These are just my observations. I have a summer jacket, couple of gloves types, four season rain paints. and a pair of riding boots. I've also bought gear from Dianese, Alpinestars, Klim, Soumy, and Sedici gear so I have a broad comparison base.

    Nice boots, but they don't make big sizes. Such a pity. I pray that they add sizes 49 and 50 WIDE someday soon.

      Mate, try to get some proper boots. I came off in late 1989 in British combat boots, 1 was destroyed in the slide and I broke tib and fib on the other. Took a long time to fix.

    Shocking that Sidi didn’t fortify the inside of the boot. Most accidents in adv bikes impact on the inside.

    They look like good boots (not exactly prettiest though) but, I'm pretty sure they would cook feet in Texas Summer. That's a lot of money even for gortex. I kind of have hard time putting together waterproof and breathable. There ain't no such thing.

    • @motorcycleadventures
      @motorcycleadventures  Před rokem

      It will be hot with any boots, but this is the situation. If you want protection you have to accept it.

    Great shoe, but I think knowing your previous videos, you would never buy them for the price.
    Who ever watches this, note that Rev'It has poor customer service. I had clearly defective shoes, bought for 400 eur (previous model of this shoe, without goretex) and had to spend 4 month ping-pong to get my shoe replaced. In the end it was a dealer who made it happen (some shops are really good).
