Thank you so much for this video. I fought with my garage door security lock until this video. The exterior door handle had a tab that I battled and finally got the handle off, but no way to release the inner handle. Your video helped me get that inner handle off. All of this just to tighten the damn screws!😂 The part that really upset me was that I never had to take off that exterior handle. 🙄🔫Thanks so much.

This video just saved me. I kept looking for the 'key-style' catch but couldn't find it. I watched your video and bought the latch piece (the only piece that was broken) and bingo...10 minutes later, fixed. I knew it was a Kwikset based on the part number engraved on the latch cover. I bought a new door lock set to match the door lock on my front door. Tried to change out my old kwikset with the new one and I couldn't figure out how to get it apart. I looked at the job for about two weeks and dreaded spending an afternoon doing the job. This video enabled me to easily get it apart and the new door lock installed. Thank you

I wish I would have seen this video before I even took the new knob out of the package. It would have saved me a bunch of frustration. I had never seen a knob locking system like this before. After the video it took me about five minutes to remove old knob and replace. Thanks

Awesome... Wish I had checked this out before spending an hour trying to pry off this “Kwik Set - slow off” lock off my burglar bars. I went out after watching this and popped off the lock in less than 2 seconds. Apparently I had not forced that little mechanism down far enough. Thank you, you saved my day and sanity!!!

I've been trying on and off for a week or so trying to fix my bathroom door knob. Watched a few videos, but didn't have this type of doorknob. After watching your video, I was able to fix the doorknob in less than 2 minutes, it was so simple.
Thank you so much. Knob for my back door fell off. I had tried that catch but didn't give it the extra push so I couldn't access the mounting screws properly to tighten them. Wish I had watched this 3 months ago instead of grumbling at the door every few days when the knob fell off again.

Thank you very much. You saved my bacon for the time being. I installed a new storm door (without checking any knob clearances). We enjoyed having the door open and the sun shining in. When it began to get dark outside, you guessed it, the house door wouldn't close enough to latch. Well I wasn't going to rebuild any doors at night. So I tried removing the old 60's era door knob without any luck. I turned to CZcams and with some searching, found your video. At least the door is shut and deadbolted.

Thanks. I spent an hour looking for the release on one of these. Other videos I came across just mentioned the visible release lever, but since there wasn't one, I was stumped. Once I knew the secret, it was easy to remove the knob.

Thank you for the hint - saved me over $75. It was still on the door. Used hedge clippers to cut the lip and pulled it back to expose the - in my knobs case - the screws (2 ea).

Thank you! I was moving the lever but it was the extra push with a flat-head that did the trick. I know a teenager that will be very happy to not have a toddler barging in their room.
