- This is how to remove a door handle / knob without visible screws. This is also a very common style of door lock and many people don't know how to remove them so they end up damaging the door or the hardware while trying to remove it. I have previously shown you how to remove another styles of door handle / knob and although this style is different Its actually very simple to do you just need to know one thing........

Honestly. The amount of times these just fall off because of this design is ridiculous
I closed a bedroom door, and the inside lock activated, and I couldn't get back inside😅. Whoever installed them over tightened it and couldn't unscrew it SMH.
Thank you for explaining this so perfectly...I watched too many videos and not one actually explained this like they were talking to a two year old so a 50 something year old could figure it out 🤦♀️

thankyou! I went through eight other videos before finding this one, but all the other videos had doorknobs with a pinhole, whereas my doorknobs are exactly like in this video - no screws or pinhole. Now i'll finally be able to get some WD40 in them!

You just saved my life!! Thank you. One side of the exact same door knob had fallen off & I closed the door accidentally. Had no way of accessing that part of the property. Turned anticlockwise and it worked. 👏👏👏👏👏💓💓💓💓

@@debnathghosal1147 use a large flat head screw driver to rotate the latch ( small square) just as the door knob would do 👍

Any ideas if the plates are frozen? I was able to unscrew the closet but the bathroom door one ain’t moving! I don’t think wd40 would work here…as the threads are deep inside the center and I wouldn’t be able to get any spray to it.
I had been fighting with my door knob as I couldn’t find the release pin, so glad this video exists. I was ready to just pull it off of the door 😂

Great video!! For those that the plate is stuck just get your chisel underneath it and loosen and then you can unscrew

Just got done tightening my doorknob on my front door, took about 5 minutes. Door has been on the house since 1958,knob was loose for about 6-7 months. Glad I didn't have to replace the lock set with a new one. Excellent video, thanks for the handy man tips. 👍👍👍👍

I used to do this as a teenager. I'd remove the knob on the inside of my bedroom, and then the turning pin, so turning the outside knob did nothing. Great way to lock your door for privacy 😆

Thank you! I had alot of issues trying to find the help I needed. Now I can tighten this door knob!! Yay! Recap, this particular handle had the same system on both sides. Had to unscrew both caps then take off plate tighten bolts before placing back into door hole to tighten screws and fix other side. Wouldn't of been able to do this though without knowing how to take the original plate off. Thank you!

Thanks, had a loose door knob but couldn't figure out where the mechanism to get backplate off was, just had to leverage it in screw holes and turn clockwise so seeing this helped

The cover doesn’t come off easy so I tried latex food gloves and it came of instantly
