What a nice lady bus driver who went above and beyond to help strangers. We need citizens like that
I’m not American but I feel pride for you
facts dude i would've given that lady a hug bc if she didnt help it would have been over right there
Living in the area, I can tell you there are far more people here that would do what the lady did than otherwise. Personally witnessed a hit and run, at least three people tracked the vehicle that fled and got al the information the police needed.
@@rayh592 I can tell if I run over a can of pepsi let alone a harley in a truck, the guy was running for sure
Thank god for the lady who was quick to act and stuck around, bless her heart glad no one was hurt

The bike actually doesnt look terrible for being run over by a dump truck.
from just looking at it, maybe..sometime just a normal fall could bend the frame by just a little bit..it will looks straight, but will not ride right..
I know
It seems staged.to be honest.
Bike wasn't run over.
It wasn't.
Safety tip! Stay away from the right hand side of any big truck if possible and definitely do NOT pass a semi on the right hand side. As a trucker and rider, one of my worst fears is running over someone because they are in my blind spots and blind spots on semis are huge. Please tell other riders as well. I'm glad this guy was ok. Ride safe.
I get what your saying but very dangerous for someone in Australia to pass on the left hand side
@@johnmccarthy9529 you're correct. In the states stay away from the right side and left side in countries that drive on the opposite side.

Speaking as a cop, my job is to make sure everyone is ok, then get your side of what happened, then get the other drivers side, get both drivers info, and write up the accident report. You're given 30 days to sign a ticket against the driver. Both drivers have that option. Then we let the insurance company figure out who's at fault. Unless it's obvious of what happened, we won't issue tickets at an accident scene. If it was me, I would've ask the dump driver to be tested. His eyes looked really glassy to me. Anyway you got the best thing going for you,

You wont issue tickets at accidents? Wish the cops around here felt the same... Hydroplane and wreck pretty good (while avoiding other cars) and boom there's a ticket. I was going the speed limit but yeah my tires were on the bald side and I wasn't expecting rain which came out of nowhere on the way home. Then to make it worse after being told I was fine to use a tow service of my own since it was on their approved list and I already had called them. Well my driver gets there and calls saying the car isn't even there so after being told it was fine they had a tow truck come and take it anyway so that was that because I wasn't paying to get it back.

As a truck driver, he made the cardinal sin of not making a button hook turn. As a driver you never give up your lane to make a right turn. Glad caleb is okay
Erlander Jeanpierre I also was a driver and it drives me nuts when other drivers swing out to turn, it’s poor technique as its lazy. I would maybe not have cut to the inside of the truck just because I know guys do this, trucker was driving like a farmer. You will see this a lot with 4 wheelers are pulling trailers and not using their mirrors and not comfortable pulling said trailer.
You dont need to button hook with a dump truck.
BigSerg80 just lazy driving for a 10 wheeler
@Mickey Cochran
I agree that the dump truck didn’t need that distance and that kind of lane departure to execute that turn!
My question is, how is actually making the need to turn the steering wheel more than a normal turn would require, being lazy???
I’m not understanding that.
I’ve driven tractor-trailer pulling flatbed, box(both 48’ and 53’), tanker, and dump trailers, straight truck flat, box, tanker, and dump.
I’ve never considered having to turn the steering wheel more than necessary as the easy way to get the job done.
Please help me understand what about the actions of this dump truck driver were lazy.
I can't help but question why the rider would move up along side the truck that could possibly be making a turn across his path of travel at 30mph... 3:24 how did he expect the truck driver to see him? even with the truck not signaling, I still question the riders judgment.
the truck driver will probably lose his job. and even though I think the rider was the main cause, the truck driver is still mainly at fault for not double checking his mirrors.
I ride and have driven large trucks (not dump trucks in particular).
zero accidents, tickets, or incidents for the past 17 years, with 25+ years experience driving and riding.
my last ticket was for changing lanes within 100 feet of a "bridge complex" (Colorado) in my privately owned vehicle.
I know, no one cares about that. lol
Always ride like you're invisible. I would have slowed down coming up beside a truck with no signal on, even in the left turn lane. People say I'm cynical or just paranoid, but truth is, I expect every car or truck on the road to cut me off, pull out or otherwise kill me. Any experienced rider, who actually rides more than a couple hours a week, would too.
Glad you're okay guy. Bikes can be replaced, you cannot.
I ride for 44 yrs now, I have a defensive ridingstyle, Im not a slow rider, but I agree with you, it s not cynical or paranoid, its just protecting yourself, most of the time they dont see you at all, one second looking the other way is enough to let you pass unseen at 30 mph, ride safe :)
Most cars would not slow down though, and if they are behind you, especially a bus of all things (remember a bus driver saw it happen, though I cant confirm her location) you would also be cautious of slowing down. This is why bikes are dangerous. The odds arent in our favor... I think he probably did the best he could with that situation, and thankfully got out alive.
Well said
I ride for 25 yrs. My instructor was an ex cop and was the best. He taught me the same. I would add that you have to predict the future 5-10 sec all the time to survive on a bike. To protect yourself you have to 100% understand and _know_ the intentions of all around you and _know_ who is seeing you. If anyone is doing anything suspicious or unpredictable, then you have to think through all the scenarios how it could end.
I am also glad that you are ok and did not learn this the hard way. I knew someone who did.
1. Intersections are incredibly dangerous
2. Treat everyone like they are trying to kill you. Because they are
This is the definition of “I had no choice but to let her down!” Glad he’s ok.🙏

Glad Caleb's alright!! Thanks for the vid! Lesson for all of us! 😎👍
Glad you didn't get hurt been binge watching your videos n just picked me up my first Honda Shadow. Truly blessed you didn't get hit by a dump truck.
My mantra while riding: "They don't see me, they don't see me, they don't see me".
Yeah same, except for me its, "I am the air, I am the wind, you can't see me and I am free!" Make the curse yours and it becomes your super power.
My mantra has always been, Nobody can see me, Everybody wants to kill me.
Mine is pretty similar. It`s "Everyone is trying to kill me. Everyone is trying to kill me..." I'm still alive, so I think that it works?
I've been a class A driver for years hauling 53's, doubles, flat beds and I've driven those type of dump trucks. I say that because i know for a fact that if the mirrors are adjusted properly and you have the right mirrors on in the right areas you don't have any blind spots. The mirrors were always the very first thing i checked and adjusted as necessary. There were several times other people did just dumb shit to me while driving and if my mirrors had not been adjusted properly, i wouldn't have noticed them. There is no excuse for this, either he was a new driver or he got too comfortable with people trying to stay out of his way.
Also in dump trucks and semi's you can notice when you've hit or run something over. I've noticed and felt when i've run a curb for instance, when full and when empty. So that leaves me to believe more that he was a rookie driver.
Plus not to mention that was just a stupid move on the dump truck to change lanes as he did, just total dipshit moment, not to mention he must not have checked his mirror before he swerved to the right lane as he did.
At least someone here has some common sense and real knowledge. It seems many are just bad drivers, lack common sense and knowledge.
From what I see/saw, Caleb has an angel looking out for him!!!! God Bless
That ad for Craigslist should say..."some assembly required."
Not to excuse the truck driver's mistakes, but being on the right side of a large truck or bus should be avoided, especially approaching an intersection. Glad you weren't crippled or killed.
Horse feathers, Jerk had no signal on, no indication of turn, no reason to NOT be on his right at an intersection. Oh, and I have +40 years as a licensed motorcycle rider, another 10 in dirt before that, I am 60 and clock 20 to 30K moles a year.

Caleb absolutely had the right of way. Didn't protect him from a careless truck driver. Also 40+ yrs on the street, age 62.
Cool I'm 15 and don't have my motorcycle license😁
That is true but the Dump Truck made a definite maneuver from right lane to the left lane .. so the motorcycle thought he was going to turn left.. Of course the Dump Truck driver did not use his turn signal at all .. I think the Motorcycle was behind the truck and then went to make a right hand lane pass which is not legal and got into the Dump Truck Drivers blind spot.. The Dump Truck River is totally careless and I don't think that Kaleb the Motorcycle rider even knows how to use the front brake which gives you 70% of your stopping power on a normal Motorcycle .. Where as this model of Harley has a very skinny front tire which reduces stopping power but heck it looks cool .. Harley's are all about good looks not good handling.. or good stopping distance.
@@JamesAllmond I sent this Video to @MCRider he makes videos on motorcycle safety .. you have to ride defensively but yes the Dump Truck made a sudden lane change from the right lane to the left lane ..
The issue is that cars and motorcycles do need to be aware of the fact that 18 wheelers can night make a right and turn from the right lane with out hitting the curb with the trailer .. they need to swing wide to the left before turning right ..
Another factor here is the right hand turn was less than a 90 turn which makes the right turn even easier than normal . Driving Laws do not protect you from idiots .. but in this case the maneuver's by the dump truck were really stupid and dangerous..
Dude I am just glad your okay man.

And glad this wasn't as severe as it could have been.
IDK. I'm not trying to start any trouble, but due to over regulation, and being constantly tracked, harrased, and being treated like a total idiot a lot of the the good old school safe, professional drivers that had common sense and took pride in their jobs are retiring or getting out of trucking. They are being replaced by kids that play x box on their 10 hour break instead of sleeping, and people who don't or barely speak english. I drove 18 wheeler(or 10 wheeler now days with these super singles) over the road for 19 years. The truck drivers today rely on gps, and probably nit even read an atlas, or shift an 18 speed. They take exits from the middle lane, run over curbs, cars, people whatever gets in the way. E logs were supposed to make the workd a better place, but they just make guys race the clock and make mustakes that they nirmalky wouldn't make. Local drivers are alwats in a BIG HURRY, and should always be given a wide berth. Most companies run recap tires so when on the interstate never hang just behind or beside a truck, a 24.5 recap blowing apart at 65 mph and hitting you in the chest will kill you. I ride motorcycle and drive 4 wheelers these days. Stay far far away from trucks, unless it is a 1999 or older model (owner operator) truck that is very well maintained and driven by an older truck driver. Otherwise he'll probably be fiddling with his I phone and run you over. Most Kenworth W900A models, and 359 Peterbilts are safe to be around due the fact that someone that takes pride in their equipment also will take pride in their job.
I know right!! the tire part is what goes through my mind when somebody drives very slowly past a semi
mechanical king I know I think recaps should be illegal, and drivers should be screened for common sense.
Dave Pawson I din't know what nakes people think recaos are a goid idea, especualky on super singles, where you ruin a $500 aluminum rim and send a 250 lb chunk of rubber flying through the air. I think recaps should be illegal and common sense and common courtesy should be manditory.
@@jeffreyponting9524, listen to this guy talk. Barely can speak English! Just like you commented!
@Dave Pawson Almost all tire failures are do to low air pressure.. All you have to do is check tire pressure every day and make sure they are properly inflated.. That's not to say you would not run over a sharp Object and get a flat while going down the Highway .. My Father has a Floater Truck for lime spreading .. 67" tall 34" wide tires Maximum inflation 25 PSI he rand over a short piece of 1/4" water pipe and the tire went completely flat 1/8 mile from his shop.. he had to walk home Jack up the truck and change the tire on the side of the road 1/8 mile from his shop .. I guess that was good luck . Needless to say he did not keep driving on a flat tire and destroy a $2,500.00 tire.. and come to think of it I got a flat on my truck in the same spot and that was a tube type bias ply 10:00 x 20 tire on the front axle I just blew it back up with air from the truck air tanks and made it home to patch the tube ect ..
the truck driver said "he tried to pass me" so he knew Caleb was there, what an AH
Greg Edenfield after the fact isn’t it obvious he was trying to pass him?
Peter is right. After the fact it was blatantly obvious that the biker was passing, even if to turn. So no; the truck driver did not know he was there. Caleb needs to learn to be more aware of the surroundings and anticipate whatever could happen. He might have had the legal right of way, but was stupid to make that move regardless.
I concur with that statement stay vigilant when riding a bike , cause alotta times you can't be seen on blind spots, truck is so high you can't see down
Nice detective work! Your explanation makes perfect sense!

SOP dude.
Police show up to make sure both parties are interviewed and do try to get away or anything (hence at least 2 cars. So if either party tries to run or get violent, they aren't caught off guard. )
Fire squad are EMTs who check medical issues and check fire and road safety, make sure theres no leaking fuel that can ignite, no sharp shards to cause further accidents and no damage to critical infrastructure like power lines.
Sometimes an ambulance shows up separate from the fire truck, just to cover bases incase someone is hurt.
Not that crazy.. these people keep our comfortable way of life running as smoothly as it does.
Imagine his bike leaked gas all over that corner, kids were waiting to cross or something and some jerk throws a cigarette out nearby and ignites the fuel. An extreme example, but not that crazy. Again, what if that driver was a wanted criminal and tried to fight or run, or pulled a gun while the cop was talking to caleb? What if someone was driving drunk or not paying attention and hit the cop while he was talking to caleb in the street.
More bodies are more eyes and chances to notice something small that might be a big problem later. A sore arm could be an embolism that kills you later, an overlooked piece of bike is a blow out tire and an innocent family crashing their mini van.
It seems like overkill, but it's important work. In my opinion, cops do their best work as civil servants. Not military or crime fighters, but acting as trained eyes and hands in situations that need mediation and experience.

This is why you don't overtake trucks from the right hand side. Ride safely.
Victim blaming
Nice
He didn’t tho, if what the witnesses and Caleb are saying is true, and Caleb is an experienced rider. The truck was in the left turning lane like he said, and as the Harley pulled into the right lane the truck turned from the left lane right, into the motorcycle. It’s clear the large commercial truck was in the wrong for cutting a whole lane off
This is 100%the truck driver's fault, but you didn't do yourselves any favors by pulling into the trucks blindspot.
Being a truck driver, he didn't have a reason to take two lanes of traffic for a right hand turn. It's part of the reason on coming turn lanes are set back a bit from straight lanes. He was driving a dump truck which doesn't require that much of a turn radius compared to a truck and trailer set up. He should have drove out into the intersection then made his right turn like the other dump trucks did. Instead he drove like any other schmoe in a four wheeled automobile and cut the turn sharp. As far as Caleb getting in his blind spot, the driver didnt use a turn signal to show intent so it wasnt his fault. Truck driver just had his mind somewhere else. I'm sure he's a decent driver, but it just shows you what complacency can do in a heartbeat.
ian long bull shit he ran up on inside of truck as ir was turning
@@Dyrtbag68 He looked hung over and low IQ to me .. When you are driving a truck you are always checking your mirrors especially when you plan on Turing ..
There are lot's of idiots on the road.. So when you are riding a Motorcycle you have to be watching out for low IQ idiots all the time.. Also for idiots that know better but don't care and try to bully smaller cars or bikes with a big 4 wheeler or 10 wheeler..
If the motorcycle skid as far as they showed then maybe the rider was not smart enough to use his front brake which gives 70% of your stopping power.. I see there is a follow up video to tell what happened to the Dumb Truck driver..
@@anthonyjennings8108 Dump Truck was in right lane then moved to the left lane .. Bike rider thought he was going to turn left.. Dump Truck Driver was too stupid to use turn signals.. Not sure if he was going to turn left then changed his mined or if he was just an idiot changes lanes back and fought with no turn signals and not checking his mirrors for vehicles behind or beside him .. 100% the fault of the Dump Truck Driver.. but the bike Rider better get a little smarter when he is around low IQ Immigrants.. that can't hardly speak English ..
I have been in Colombia and Brazil .. and I can drive safely even though I can't speak Spanish or Portuguese but I have been driving heavy trucks for 42 years.. and still ride a sport bike . Some days I dodge cars like they are slalom buoys .. Plus the Harley was probably so loud that most truck drivers would have heard it..
@@anthonyjennings8108 were you there? The witness said different.
More than anything, I am glad I didn't lose a fellow rider. I hope to see you on 2 wheels again soon. Be safe out there.

@@BikesandBeards ... I don't see the irony.
Great post, learned a few things from this . Glad he was ok, bikes can be replaced, he can not .
Glad everyone is safe. Be sure to get full restitution for the bike !!!
LOL, i laughed out loud when I saw the shameless "Tank Strap" promo...well played
I stay away from all Trucks!! They can’t see
if they can't see, they can't drive.
Michael Kastner + 2 days ago truck driver's don't know how to drive lowe rider's are so cool the Fast & Furious 6.5
No most are just inexperienced and don’t know how to drive. If the companies trained so if these steering wheel holders it would be a rare occurrence
They don't look
@@andieanders4840 How long have you been driving truck?
Thank you for posting this! it is a lesson learned without actually having to personally feel the wrath
Thumbs up for the lady, and for Caleb. He doesn't seems so stressed, he toked like a champ.
Love that memorial for him at the end. 😂
Y'all need go pro's when riding bikes so stuff like that is caught
The end edit with the pics lmaoo
New fan~
Good neighbors with the lady who witnessed and called up the police. So happy you guys are okay
Never ride on the extreme right side of your lane especially on a one lane street, take up your lane or a cager will try to take it from you
You should always let the cagers take the lane, If they want it I will get out of their way rather than get smashed. Lane position can help them see you but, they will still want in either way.
Usually you want to stay on the far right or left of a lane to have an escape path just incase anyone slams on their brakes or cuts in from behind.
Never pass trucks on the right side and never on city streets...
Never pass anything on the right because these types of accidents happen with all types of vehicles.
@@Wildstar40 Agreed 👍
Yeah I live in Australia and in my state there's a law do not over take turning vehicle. The truck has warning stickers on the talegate big enough for anyone coming from behind to see. But even before that law came in we used to call it the passing side or sui side. You gotta be aware that trucks have a lot of blind spots.
@@billpayer3762 Yea, you can even see how far over to the right he was riding where the tire locked up, kinda telling us he was squeezing between the truck and the curb... unless he normally rides in the gutter...
100% in the trucker blind spot.
I'm glad y'all are safe
This is the first video I ever watched of Birds and Turds! Lol
Glad everyone is ok... my two cents.. Kaleb could have hung back and maintained car free space around him as we learn to do in defensive riding school...I highly recommend it...
That is the smaller firefighter at 5:35 I have ever seen they’re usually tall and buff
James Fisher I like 69ing
Just a quick question, I've used a strap for years that has a cuff on each end for the handlebars and then ratchet strap from each end to whatever I'm hauling it on. Why do you not use this kind but instead just ratchet strap around the forks?
Caleb was so lucky. It was just a hair from being a tragic outcome. Also: wearing full gear including a good helmet is what everyone should do. It's smart motorcycling!
5:32 ..."69" lol
So glad everyone's ok. Someone's watching over you today. You can always get another bike, lives are a little more difficult. Cheers brother!
William Edward 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glad Caleb is okay.
Caleb was riding the Dyna, then how do you barely make it? Damn Clickbait Titles.
''dont go dying on me caleb'' ahhahahha funny as heck dude lmao
Praise God Caleb is okay love your channel
There’s a huge lesson to be learned here. Never, and I mean never, especially on a motorcycle, especially where a large commercial vehicle is concerned... never pass on the right.
He was not passing the dump truck moron, the dump truck was making a right turn and did not see the biker.
The driver didn't even signal he was turning and the bike wasn't over taking the dumo truck driver is seriously in the wrong here
Glad you're OK, stay out of blind spots as much as possible, and it's spelled "aerial"
Glad you're ok man!
Glad he was ok , stay safe guys
As a biker who’s almost been hit many times, it’s not the fault of a trucks blind spots. Most drivers just don’t notice bikes until it’s too late.
Where you wearing a seat------ I'm going to have the ambulance check you out
Hey hey. My name is Caleb tooo!!! Only Caleb’s understand the true power of finding another Caleb, it’s not Often. !!GLAD YOUR DOING GREAT MY GUY!!!!!!
Man I'm glad you're okay, sucks what happened to the bike, I hope that dump truck driver learned to be more safe!
Had walking wounded w/ broken neck before. Always get checked out. Adrenaline hides a lot.
I'm Pretty sure that Dump Truck Driver KNEW he ranover the bike thats why he Drove Off.
