This video was recorded: 1992-04-18: Oakland Arena - Oakland, California, USA. And it was broadcast the day of the concert tribute to Freddie.
The "love, love"'s after the guitar solo are awesome christ his voice was sensational at this time
I think Freddy would have approved this performance and enjoyed it also. Full pomp rock n roll
U2 at it’s peak!!!! Omg no wonder world’s biggest band!!!
You said it, Sasquatch, a total jam.
First time I saw U2 live after Rattle and Hum... Back in the day their change was pretty outrageous, but looking from the distance, this song was probably the most classic U2 that came out in the 90s... Biblical lyrics, riff based, propulsive and fully locked-in rhythm section... It was just the package that had changed radically.
Fantastic quality. Remember taping this off MTV. The footage after watching it far too many times was near impossible to watch. Great to see it on CZcams :-)
Thats the best band who ever romed this soil of our planet!! No backtalking of other bands!!
This is just personal for me! I watched a TV-Show in My native home Sweden in 1981!
"MÅNDAGSBÖRSEN" In Brittish that would be" Mondays Moneymarket" or something!?
U2 Played "11 oClock tic toc" And I was just stunned.......I Couldnt move! The Edges fingerpickin on that Explorergibson was totally new to Me!! AWESOME!!
amazing, as modern as any tour now, always ahead of there time, irelands most famous sons!
Callum murphy this tour was about making a point and it was if you bulid it they will come .easy to do indoors harder outdoors
I watched this live back in 92 ' , awesomeness!
Great quality version of this performance! Interesting to see this song performed during the first leg of this tour in indoor arenas. Bono was unleashed here and his voice at the top of his game!
yeah they seemed much more energetic earlier on during the indoor leg in comparison to the post-Zooropa European Outdoor leg
Probably they were feeling more pressure to prove themselves because of the change of look, sound and all. Maybe after they saw the tour was a success, they were more relaxed on the Zooropa legs.
Fred was dancin' his chaps off up in the heavens, that was one hell of a tribute to the Zanzibonian fur bag, hell of a show, Rest in the peace, Frederico.
Roberto Von Lookinland the bigger tribute would be to have turned up to his tribute concert in person.
@@robparkinson9850 We all know that Robbie, that's why I WAS there. Keep punchin' kid.
The Voice' the guitar...the band...sent from heaven above"👌👌👌
I remember watching this live as a youngster in Ireland in 1992 and thinking fuck what a song.
U2 OUT OF CONTROL!!
magnifique thanks
Este era U2.
TODO POR SERVIR SE ACABA, PERO AUN VIGENTES.
Great song i love 🇨🇱💓🌹
damn back when they were good...good old days!
Espectacular ❤
Fucking class 👍🏻
I approve this video. 😎
U2 awkwardly shoehorned into the Freddie Mercury tribute concert broadcast. Crawford tries to give the impression it's live, but it was prerecorded a few days before in Sacramento. The band were probably unaware footage would be used, otherwise you'd think Bono would make reference to Freddie. The quality was poor when broadcast, but for many fans it would have been the first experience of the song played live. I recorded it on VHS and replayed it often.
LoLzZ85 makes sense, my dad had the vhs of the tribute and I never saw this on there lol
Sure it is.
I remember watching live the Freddie Tribute and this song was aired about at 7p.m. CET. It would have meant a live show in the late morning in Sacramento. Clearly impossible.
U2 (along with Guns&Roses) were by far the biggest act around the world in that 1992. They couldn't miss at least a small poke in the mammoth Freddie Tribute Show that night.
Bono is my man :3
👏
One is the song that was dedicated to Freddie Mercury.
"Tonight belongs to Freddy Mercury"

U2 era bom
Prredivno
U2 was in Sacramento, not in Tacoma ;)
Guess the location was a mistake ^^;
I have my ticket stub - assuming the date is correct, that was Tacoma.
The footage might be from Tacoma but the feed for the Freddy Mercury Tribute Concert was supposed to have been via satellite from Sacramento. Though, with the magic of CZcams and the internet, one might see that the "live feed" may actually have been pre-recorded (I hear maybe from the Oakland concert around that time) - Anyway, super cool, rigged or not. I still love it!
Can't be Tacoma, that show wasn't played until several hours after this footage was aired.
U2 is way kooler than nirvana.
more of this????????????????
yurieu no more
The lead singer of U2 kissed at 2:34
Freddie would have approved...
Why is that U2 didnt go to the actual.venue of the tribute concert?
They were on tour.
Judus........
Lovely but not the right audio
Wasn't the Edge jump only valid in the 1980s?
I rather be bono or axel rose than Kurt Cobain.
U2 PAY MORE TAX!
And corrupts politician take the money for financing wars? Illegal immigrants? Dream on donkey
Thought Bono didn't like Freddie?
Susan Orchard Iv not heard that..... Think more likely great respect between 2 singing gods from Britain & Ireland
I never heard that either. Freddie did seem to flirt with Bono at Live Aid but Bono didn't take it negatively.
Cool..
But not a tribute to Freddie at all...
Demon 333 Apparently they either didn’t broadcast the correct song or this upload edited in the wrong song but “One” is the song Bono dedicated to Freddie at that show.
Tbh I think freddy would have approved this brash, in your face, sexy performance
Not so interesting...
