I'm born and bred Londoner, completely agree with this!
This is why multiple trips are always worth it. I don't feel like I really saw London until my third trip. Where I went to none of the touristy things
Idk. The chocolate strawberries line moved pretty fast and the strawberries were hella fresh. 10/10.
Yeah, but you have 4-5 minutes to eat them before you have a solid brick of chocolate and strawberries. So eat fast or be ok with throwing half of it away.
@@Maitreya0208why would you throw it away just eat it solidified chocolate literally melts in your mouth.
@@kawaiilotus Five mins after you buy that cup of strawberries and warm chocolate you have a brick of solid chocolate and strawberries solidly anchored inside a plastic cup, with naught but a wooden fork to tend it with. There is no easy way to tackle it and certainly no clean way. It’s very instagrammable but I’ve watched a lot of people in Borough Market over the years reach the exact conclusion I did: the mess and the nuisance isn’t worth it. Next time you’re at Borough Market give it a go. But I’m 100% with Jess, it’s bullshît.
Throwing shade for the literal sake of it. Peak internet 2024 😂
They’re too expensive for what they are, you get better and more for what you pay if you bought strawberries from Waitrose or M&S and melted chocolate over it
Snatching is so true. I know 2 people living in London and their phones were snatched in tourist places.
London actually has one of the lowest pickpocket rate compared to places like Paris or New York and your phone is pretty safe unless for certain areas. And some things: staring is one of the rudest thing you can do, if you drop something get ready for the locals to intervene. And please, SUPER IMPORTANT: If you are doing this ✌️ peace sign for a photo, please make sure you do it with INSIDE OF THE PALM POINTING AWAY. if you do it the other way it is super disrespectful and kinda like the middle finger.
This is the only video I’ve seen of an American in London that is actually accurate so well done you! Why doesn’t everyone else have as much common sense as you have😭😂
Because she lives here 😂
thanks... we think? lol
Because us Americans are dummies
Phones stuff is totally true. BT, wants to remove them but the Government won't let them
They disappeared in the 90s for this very reason that they were disgusting, so they only remained in tourist spots.
Can't they just lock them?
Back in London after 12yrs! Been watching your vids. They were very helpful, thank you!!! Stayed in London for 3 weeks but also traveled to France and Scotland ❤ I was hoping to bump into you somewhere lol!
I only went to Notting Hill for work and Portobello Road market.
Best veiw of London:- Alexandria Palace 💯
I've noticed that subtle transition to "#2" , tip of the hat to you!
Camden is also amazing. Great pubs, restaurants and they have a statue of Amy Winehouse.
and its also full of tourist traps, crackheads and discord users
Useful 😊
When to London for the first time last year. I saw the strawberry line.....no way was I standing in for that.
Lol exactly
Learn the tube map for central London.
Its truly the circulatory system of London and its the key to getting around quickly.
With transport apps, you really don't need to do that anymore, just plug your destination into the app 😎
lol you don’t need to do this wtf. Welcome to 2024
It's still good to learn or at least appreciate the tube map, Harry Beck was a genius and the map is an icon of London, it's shaped people's view of it. The Tube Map was voted the second best british design of the 20th Century.
Number 1 was Concorde.
But Brixton is a bad area, isn’t it?
It's not, it's a common misconception, but there is a lot of interesting history and culture there, plus great bars and restaurants.
But diversity is our strength so they say we must accept
I wish I spent time in Hampstead and Notting Hill 😂
Agreed
Nice.
Don't touch those phone booths, you'll get every disease possible.
Mopeds & Bicycles - phone snatchers!!!!
Also it’s expensive. I live around 25 miles away from London, and it will eat through your wallet in no time.
That's pretty well documented, we think!
👍
Brixton is not worth exploring
We wholly disagree!
With the mobile phone the only phone box you will find is probably in London They always smell like a toilet.
Your mobile is safe as it would be in New York Paris.....
Just don't wave it around.
Don't leave it on tables in a restaurant / cafe either. There was a scam going around years ago where people would dump a load of stuff on your table, and when they cleared up they'd take your phone with them.
❤😂
Don’t understand why the city doesn’t keep those phone booths decent.
Those phone boxes are being ripped out. BT British Telecom are ending phone boxes due to being out of date
Here in Lincolnshire, we've started putting defibrillators in them ❤
Yup - this was a subject of a Tom Scott video
Haaaa yeh the phone kiosks do stink..i had to have to mutter sweet nothings to my boyfriend while stood in 1 of them.
For starters I’d avoid Brixton & deffo go to Borough Mkt
Brixton is great!
I'd disagree with you entirely. Brixton, yes. Borough, no.
@@swampy1234 each to their own I guess, I love eating in Borough Mkt then you can walk east or west along the Thames path for miles…..I’ve only ever been mugged twice, both in Brixton
@@haynesy1476 damn sorry to hear that! Not a nice experience, I can imagine and relate. I don't necessarily think Brixton is especially good, but I think Borough is overpriced and chain-y.
Most streetfood vendors go there after sampling their craft elsewhere - in other words, by the time you see stalls on the Borough market, they're already gone mainstream and oftentimes that switch doesn't translate (different kitchen, maybe different ingredients, different vibe etc etc)
@@swampy1234yeah that’s a fair point well made, tbh I usually go to Fish! there & eat lots of shellfish so again prob not the real experience. I find Camden Lock good for stall vendors. I hear Brixton has changed beyond all recognition so I may venture over that way again as I’m not blind to what people say about it these days, appreciate the tip 👌🏻
history baby history
So right about the tiktok/insta hype. All lies 😂 So many nicer less touristy places
