- The Aspiras-Palispis Highway (formerly known and still referred to as Marcos Highway or Agoo-Baguio Road) is a Philippine major highway in northern Luzon that runs from the city of Baguio in the province of Benguet to the municipality of Agoo in the province of La Union.Burnham Park was originally designed by a renowned American architect and urban planner, Daniel Hudson Burnham, in 1904. He as well designed the original plan for Baguio City itself. Mister Burnham was a renowned architect and urban planner from Chicago.The park is more than 100 years old, it was originally designed as a recreational center for the U.S. Armed Forces. You could tell cause around the park there are several roads that lead to Camp John Hay, which is a formerl recreational base of the United States Armed Forces. In 1990, a heavy earthquake in Luzon killed more than a hundred people in Baguio City, leaving many homes destroyed. Burnham Park served as a refugee camp at that time for all the displaced people around town.landlocked city located 250 kilometers north of Manila, in the heart of the province of Benguet. It has a land area of 57.5 km². It is known as the gateway to the Cordillera of the mountain provinces of Northern Philippines.Baguio City features a subtropical highland climate under the Köppen climate classification. The city is known for its mild climate. It is because of this that Baguio is nicknamed the “Summer Capital of the Philippines”. Owing to its high elevation, the temperature in the city is 8 degrees Celsius lower compared to the average temperature of the rest of the country.Average temperature ranges from 15 to 23 degrees Celsius. It is usually lower during the late and early months of the year. The lowest recorded temperature was 6.3 degrees Celsius on January 18, 1961. This is in contrast to the all-time high of 30.4 degrees Celsius recorded on March 15, 1988 during the 1988 El Niño season.Baguio seldom exceeds 26 degrees Celsius even during the warmest part of the year.
