- Binungey Festival is celebrated in the midle of the month of April, and just have started since 2004. The festival highlights the events in searching for Biggest Binungey, Longest Binungey and the Most Delicious Binungey that all barangay can produce. In the search of biggest binungey, the diameter of the bamboo will be measured and the lingest diameter will get the title. In the longest binungey, the length of internode of the bamboo and the longest will also get the title. Guests were invited to taste for the Most Delicious Binungey.
Anda Pangasinan is rich in marine resources such as shrimp, crab, octopus, sea weeds, and various fishes perfect for seafood lovers. It also has productive lands, where they can harvest rice, corn and “malagkit” sticky rice.
Anda is celebrating a yearly festival called “Binungey Festival”. Binungey is a food made from the mixture of “malagkit” sticky rice, coconut milk, salt and placed inside the bamboo and cooked in a low fire. It is the number one product of Andanian’s which they used to prepared and offered for the visitors during fiestas, and special occasions. Eventually, the festival of the town was named after the number one delicacy of the town “Binungey”.

First of all, I would like to thank you for letting us take part in this cooking festival in Anda, your hometown, with your video. It all looks delicious and I would like to try it all. The temptingly delicious shrimp skewers, the fragrant rice, the fresh mango and the diverse seafood - it was simply a feast for the senses. The fish also looked delicious and was so lovingly arranged on the plate.
Anda is a pretty little village, so beautifully situated on Tondol White Sand Beach, truly a little paradise. Your video not only introduced me to culinary delights, but also conveyed the beauty of your homeland.
I would like to thank you again for this wonderful and very interesting video. I would also like to thank you for the impressions that your video gave me.
I do have one question: When everyone was sitting at the table, was everyone allowed to take a portion, or was it an eating contest?

Regarding to your question, everyone were allowed to eat whatever they want as long as it is not forbidden by their respective barangay but as far as I know, everyone have the liberty to eat because that is one of the tradition here in our town where sharing symbolizes so much care to ones fellow citizens of the town!
