@Handy Hudsonite Thank you so much for making this video. Initially, I thought that my left Airpod wasn't charging properly. The actual problem was that this Airpod was clogged with earwax. Using a swab, the way you recommended, was just what needed to be done. I was surprised at how much earwax continued to emerge from the speaker, as I gently scoured it for 10 straight minutes, using the swab and rubbing alcohol.
Thank you so much. This definitely made a difference for me. The right side was terribly clogged.

Amazing, been dealing with this issue for months and just been procrastinating on buying new ones, but I did this and it worked, not at first, but adding a bit of water first then sucking worked ! Thanks a lot
I have legitimately thought I was going deaf! I have a slight hearing issue in one ear and just thought my hearing was getting worse and worse. This is even though I have cleaned my AirPods multiple times. What helped me here was that I repeated the process of cleaning both AirPods multiple times and repeating the inhale / exhale trick. For the first time in years I now have to turn the volume down on the AirPods!!!! It’s now too loud ha ha. Thank you so much firstly for helping me fix my AirPods and secondly for helping me realise I’m not going deaf!
OMG this totally worked!! I accidentally left my AirPods at my cousin’s house and her oldest granddaughter used them and didn’t clean them. She thought they were hers and I told her they’re not. So I cleaned them as you suggested and OMG IT WORKED!!! Thank you Hunny!!

I found that suctioning the airpod after letting the alcohol dry actually drew alot of material out and then I dried it with the Q-tip and the audio returned to normal. Thanks man!

This REALLY works…I tried it after my Left Pod was very low…I sucked out some ear wax on the first try and some came out….and now my sound is back in the left pod, Thanks for all your help/advice

the sucking and blowing of the speaker grills is what did it for me.
i clean my airpods almost daily with a soft toothbrush which REALLY helps get the wax out of the grills by slowly sliding and picking at the spots you see are dirty with so many tiny fiber's, find it does a excellent job without any hassle of alcohol.
after one year of 12+ hour daily use, i had to blow and suck into my right airpod last week. after about 10 minutes it sounded perfect again.
