I’ll also touch on some AirPod Urban Legends and give you a few tips.

You can tell all the people in the comments who are like “how do they get THAT dirty?!” Are blissfully unaware of how allergies work.
I have Seborrheic dermatitis, no matter how much I clean my ears. My AirPods will constantly be filled with ear wax and skin cells.
And they all talk about how “you should just clean your ears” but the way they do it with a cotton swab is actually harmful for them and honestly even grosser sense it pushes the wax deeper in their ears
I just came here to know how to clean my airpods better, but i stayed for this guy's vibe and personality. His voice is just so soothing, awesome little funny moments, and that intro was wonderful 😂

For anyone who’s annoyed that the cotton buds aren’t cleaning the AirPods to the extent that it retains the Audio, I highly recommend you lightly scrub over the airpod mesh with a toothbrush(not a used one obviously)as the little bristles on the brush are great for scrubbing away the thin layer of wax covering the AirPods mesh. Trust me, you may not tell that there is a layer of wax still there but it is there, you won’t be able to properly clean your AirPods if you don’t remove that thin layer of wax as it definitely decreases sound quality if left there

Absolutely nailed it. Scrape across the mesh in all three ports of each earbud. You can follow with the alcohol dampened cotton swab, but ALWAYS follow with a dry cotton swab to soak up any excess alcohol that may be in there, which will also have wax and stuff dissolved in it. Cleaning lint? Get some surgical tweezers. Very fine point and if you are good, you can sharpen them down to an incredibly fine point. I got mine to 5 microns (yeah, I measured it).

Dude thank you for the tooth brush tip. It really worked. I had tried the q tip before but it never worked. The only other way I knew was to remove the screen and burn the wax off but I did not want to mess up and ruin my airpods. Thanks man!
OH MAN!!! I was severely grossed out but this was informative. It motivated me to deep clean my AirPods....I used qtips and I used a paper clip to clean the mesh. Thanks for being super helpful and gross at the same time. HA!

Having no earwax is actually bad for you because it’s there to protect your ear from bacteria, fungi, insects, etc. That’s how I got an ear infection.

Thanks for the video. My daughter took one look at my AirPods and told me they were disgusting. I never looked at the tip of the AirPod that goes in my ear. I used the toothpick part of a floss stick since it is softer than a regular toothpick to get the ear wax out of the tip. All clean now!
