I bet they'd welcome a visit from you to show how the models are made.
@@brooos Sideshow don't make the models. Hot Toys make them in Hong Kong.
its really cool. man, i would love to see a model of it done on this scale, but made out of real materials, so metal body, rubber tyres, glass windows, leather seats with real stitching, maybe even a small screen like what your phones made from so you can have the numbers change for the time travel. tiniest working keyboard for keying it in, brass working alarm clock, glass tubes in the flux capacitor, miniaturised real working delorian engine all hand machined, actual time travel and so on. lol. but you would have to be a crazy person to take on such a project.
that is a very nice model, i just love to have a model kit like that one to work on just the best.
would have been nice if we heard the iconic sound
Norm not putting the wheel all the way flat was really getting to me. Good thing Adam fixed it.
yes, me too!!!
They looked better slightly off flat if you ask me
They shouldn’t be flat, but slightly tilted.
Same
@r3mdh That's irrelevant. It's the lack of symmetry .
12:48 - Thank you Adam, for fixing the tire position. Highly appreciated, best regards from Germany.
I love that a man who's a TV star, has worked on legendary shows and movies, who has BUILT iconic props like this, can still get so excited about something like this. Both of you looked like kids on Christmas morning!
thats why he promote a carbage thing that not ride :)))
When Adam moved it @6:45 my heart skipped a beat. That back wheel was so close to the edge, i though it was going to go over.
Yes, I thought the same thing
Same here xD I think it dropt , it look to me like they cut it out xD
OH, can you imagine their reaction if it HAD dropped? I think that they'd both end up bawling like babies. After $1,250.00, I may have as well. LOL
First thing I said, it's going over...
The vastly different ways in which Adam and Norm do an unboxing, is very Odd Couple and hilarious.
Thanks to Sideshow for sending this model! You can find more about the Delorean Time Machine at: www.sideshow.com/collectibles/back-to-the-future-delorean-time-machine-hot-toys-910430
Sideshow is AMAZING.....but so spendy
You should ask them when they're making a 1/6 scale ADAM SAVAGE!!
@@jonathanzj620$1200 is a very reasonable price, I actually consider that cheap for this incredible machine.
I love Adam's unbridled excitement being vocalized with "DUDE!!!". I feel you Adam, I feel you.
Just the fact you can read the LED numbers on the time circuit panel - that’s amazing. Next to shrinking a real movie replica Delorean - it doesn’t get any better
Adam's having a joygasm unboxing this replica. So hilarious to watch him turn 8 years old again. He's havin' fun
It genuinely warmed my heart. Having been watching Adam for so many years it's so cool to see him get excited about stuff like this. Like a kid in a candy store with this one lol
I like to think that a lot of us would have a similar reaction if we were there too. I know a gasped with Adam a few times during the video.
@@Capt_Dango I don't know that I'd be able to speak, personally. 😂
@@goosenotmaverick1156 Adam Savage is basically a nine year old with adult money.
@@terrylong8894 I don't disagree, but I am jealous of him 🤣
That is one EPIC model! I need that for my collection!
Adam closed the doors so roughly. Like my son on my actual car. So rough, made me wince every time Adam did it!!
Gotta give Norm respect for actually reading the instructions
no man does
I’m surprised he didn’t break anything.
For $1,250, it BETTER be extremely high quality.
It’s $825 USD, but your point still stands.
Obvious a rookie in this business :]
They should of priced it at... wait for it..$1,210
I believe I paid under $900, but I feel the same at that price too.
If paying several hundred dollars, Id expect there to be a mode to light up the sides blue for when its getting to 88 mph.
(I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes a kit.)
I'm so glad your video popped up in my feed. I spent many years watching your content on TV and loved it. These videos bring back the nostalgic feeling of getting excited for the next Mythbusters episode.
Adam and Norm, thank you both for this wonderful build/video. Thumbs up!
Fun fact about Mr. Fusion is that it's just a repurposed Krups coffee grinder and can also be spotted aboard the Nostromo in Alien
a comparison between this one and the eaglemoss delorean would be interesting to see. that model also was awesome
That would be a good comparison. I built the eaglemoss kit. Super heavy as it has metal parts. Lighting is a bit different.
Would give my left arm to afford that legendary piece of art!!😍
😆 Adam, you get me giggled when you get so happy when thing come together ❤️ I love watching the whole crew working together. Fab work and guaranteed a giggled 😂
I loved the look of PURE nerd on Norm’s face when he opened the door of the car and looked inside. 😁
I love your excitement! To be as brilliant as you are and to have such a wonderful attitude is amazing. Smart people sometimes tend to be very rude or snarky. I absolutely love the videos and content you create. I'm jealous of the DeLorean! I'd love to have my own for my garage! Have a good one and keep making these fun and interesting videos!
Hey Adam, I’d love to see you visit the Hot Toys company! I’d like to see how they go through the process of creating/making their fantastic 1/6 scale figures.
Or Sideshow, since it's closer to home.
It might destroy the myth why their figures are so extremely expensive...
No soup for you!!!!!!!! NO Cameras on the sweatshop!
@@Captain_MonsterFart sideshow don’t make them. Just sell them
@@Ricardo-cl3vs Well, there is a pretty huge human component to these sort of collectibles. I once took a tour of McFarlane Toys a few years ago and almost all their staff are either sculpting & designing new models, or they're hand painting the final product. The only part of the process where items are produced in bulk, is the items themselves, however all painting and assembly is done by a human. No robots.
When you pair that with the actual Licensing deal.... things get expensive REAL quick.
They build just enough to fulfill pre-orders, then they make enough for online orders and they keep a few to sit on a shelf for a rainy day. They set a limit of production units, save for any extra parts for any warranty claims and even those who will eventually break their toys. And then thats it. Once that production limit has been reached - they stop making more until there's one day where they get a new license that allows them to produce more.
Its why a lot of these toys/collectibles are always sold out on their websites. They make just enough to satisfy their production costs which is why you're spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on them. If you dont buy them when they're available for pre-order - you're never getting one or you're paying scalped prices.
My God! What a gorgeous model! Thanks for sharing guys!
I just realized something. In comparison to a picture from a book I have about the making of the trilogy, that DeLorean may actually be close to scale to the original ILM model miniature used for the fly mode sequences in the second film.
It's possible that they molded it from the original ILM model. Some model companies work very closely with movie makers and are able to get access to the SAME equipment used to cast the models!
As an avid collector of scale model cars I must say this was an awsome episode!
The look on norms face when Adam blows it up will be something else !😁
I spent quite a few hours sitting in that "A" Delorean... as Tom WIlson's stand-in for the Universal Back to the Future, the Ride... So nostalgic for me.. . I think I should have one...!
In 2016 I attended the Oregon Eclipse festival (one of the best rave style festivals I ever went to, it was to celebrate the big solar eclipse that year) and there was a lake there. Someone had built a Back to the Future Delorean speed boat and was rippin' around all day long. It looked fricken' fabulous!
Lucky!!! I would've loved to have seen that!😁
Love the nerdiness related to Back To the Future.
Makes me happy to see.
It's up there with star wars nerdiness
Like watching a kid on Xmas day. This made me feel joy.
Just ordered it. Very excited, I’ve been waiting for a hover version of the DeLorean for years.
I'm actually surprised that Adam Savage didn't already have some version of this model in his shop! Awesome video.
I don't think Adam's a collector like that; like not in the slightest.
@@Chalor. I meant as a prop, not so much as collecting.
Marvelous video review. Watching professional nerds is my favorite hobby besides being the owner of all the time travel machines that will ever exist 😝
6:47 This move sent my heart through my throat
I have the 1/8th scale BTTF Delores from Eaglemoss, but it's made from real steel with that brushed stainlesss stell finish, which is amazing. That thing is properly heavy, it nearly weighs 30 pounds
Adam is so wild, careless and clunky handling these kinds of pieces. I hope it's Adam's time machine because if it's Norm's, I'm sure he was close to having a heart attack watching Adam manipulate everything with his super dirty hands, slamming the door, taking the protective plastic from the windshield so carelessly😂😧
it's just a thing, man👆and do you khow - who has a dirty hands also has a clear soul??
its a stupid toy, youre supposed to play with it.
@@Teeveepicksures Ok Sid Phillips🤣
Adam can't see for shit
Dude always has me on edge! I'm always screaming "Careful!!!"
Their completely opposite personalities compliment each other well. Glad they have the patience and respect to work with each other collaboratively on shared interests.
Watching this with a smile so big my face is cramping! So cool!
I love how giddy they get when they are opening up the box!
For that price it should honestly have a hover feature with drone prop wheels!
…..has anyone done that yet? Because that would be fantastic!
Tested should do more videos on less expensive toys and collectors items. Seeing all the expensive stuff is cool but it is also awesome seeing what someone can do with a cheap version of something.
Agreed. Items us mortals could actually consider buying some time. Items like these are cool, but let's face it: 99% of us will never be able to afford it.
Models are cool, I always liked stopping at the Nut Tree and looking at the models hanging from the ceiling on our way to S F when I was a kid.
Adam was a Savage getting into that box!
(I would have been too!) Such an awesome piece!
I know how they feel, I'd nerd out over a piece as beautiful as that. Obviously high quality, and it's certainly impressive.
I do like the 80s Mall aesthetic for the stand legs, but it really is begging for a handmade strong, more hidden, cantilevered stand to really make it look like it's flying. And yes, Norm is right, it needs a little something extra like the Bunting, out of wire for pose-ability.
SO AWESOME!!!. I remember wishing for a real R2-D2 toy when I was younger and never getting it, but this DeLorean brings back the memories and now is on the bucket list of must haves! ❤😂
Awesome! I would love to see Adam do a bit of wear & tear painting on this.
I really want to convert this into an RC car! Imagine this actually doing 88.8 mph :-)
And fly
Imagine it hitting something at 88 miles per hour. 🤣
I love these things. But I always feel they need a touch-up with the paints kit, to sort out the plastic look some parts of these collectors pieces seem to invariably have. Most often it's just a light touch-up & a couple washes to get the look right, but still.
Had two of these that sat in a empty lot near some city houses on my streets for years growing up. They are cool cars.
I was excited to finally watch this because I was hoping Adam would do an unboxing. The only issue I have is CZcams plays this at 360p with no way to change the video quality. Of course I'm watching it on my phone. Hopefully it'll look better on a streaming device.
Very cool. Personally I would definitely take the protective plastic off last. I'd be too worried about accidentally scratching something like the windshield.
I'm not really into statues and such but this one is frigging awesome. Possibly the coolest statue figure thing I've seen. Absolutely love it!
This is not a statue. It's a toy
Lay off the dope
I recently got my 4yo (and myself) the Playmobil DeLorean and it’s also super cool!
Love you two with unboxing videos!
I would have liked to have seen the blue light bars that light up when it goes 88mph actually light up on the model, it’s a pretty iconic look. Especially for the money. That’s my only disappointment, everything else is great.
Yes, that was disappointing.
Same; I was waiting for that feature but it doesn't have it.
Oh good! I wasn't the only one!😁 Otherwise, DANG!!! This was AWESOME!!!
Yes, my 1/15 model has it. Looks cool. :)
As much as I would love to have that Delorean it’s out of my price range and I can’t justify buying it 😢 but it is glorious 😮😊
I feel ya Brian, well out of my price range, but we can watch this as much as we want to! 😭😍
Yeah, $825 is a little rich for my blood too. Especially for an item that offers no practical use, but it is fun to watch.
It's out of my *volume* range, too.
A few years ago I got a 1/20 scale time machine by Kidslogic. It's basically a miniature version of that Hot Toys one but it can also float on a magnetic base. Back then they came out at 234$. The last batch they made were 300$+. czcams.com/video/wR2H33OTL3A/video.html
Just bought this. Also Doc and Marty. Fantastic job from Hot Toys.
What would the world be like without our favorite nerds. 😄 The detail is beautiful. Imagine the work it would take to build a one off.
Sweet... I have the original Hot Toys from the first film released a few years ago so I passed on this one but after seeing it in flying mode!!! Do I really have room for another? I also have a 1:1 scale version in my garage... It's a stock DeLorean though. I guess I'm a bit obsessed.
sell the old one and buy the new one. :3
Can display in non flying mode and take mr. fusion off for the first film. ^-^
@@hraefn1821 you can remove the Mr Fusion but that won’t make it look like the version from the first film. The rear deck looks completely different.
@@sjmaguirepdx curses. My casual fan-ness hath been exposed.
Looks great but I would need a Sports Almanac to afford one.
This is so cool. Savage is a big kid at heart with an amazing mind. Thanks for the awesome review. 👍🤙
What an exquisite display piece, gorgeous 👌
'Impressively' light is not what I would describe as a positive for a $900 model!... No white (blue) lights on the flux bands either!
Just needs action figures of Marty and Emmet in the cockpit to make it perfect!
I'm pretty sure Hot Toys make those too
@@candacebarlow9296 It looks kinda weird on that flying stand without a pilot!
Old Biff
@@mzaite yeah they missed the "accessories" : (1) the top of 2015's Biff cane which he broke trying to get out the car after returning to 2015 from his trip to 1955, and (2) the bag the sports almanac came in, because Doc found BOTH the cane and empty bag in the car when they retrieved Jennifer, and had returned to what they thought was the normal 1985 except it was 1985-A, altered by Biff Tannen. As Doc says "they were in the time machine....because Biff was in the time machine:"
@@andrewmurray1550 I'm sure they already have plans for a $150 Accessory pack.
So awesome car from the back to the future model. Amazing!!!
Someone in my neighborhood at least used to own a Delorean. Only saw him drive it a couple of times. It wasn't a time machine but the car was gorgeous
Oh man, am I the only one suffering a panic attack seeing it so close to the edge at 6:00? 😄
No, I could see it falling off, glad it didn't..
I thought so too. Way to close to the edge. :D
$850 and the doors dont even open properly. cheap junk.
Thees guys are having too much fun . I love it
That's so sick..love it brings back so many memories, thanks adam
Man, thanks for showing this, happy just by seeing this 🥳
I love the absolute enthusiasm :D That's a very cool model.
This replica is so perfect that almost made me cry just watching it being assembled. You're lucky guys.
Not perfect. Missing the OUTATIME license plate...j/s
More of these please!
Very nice, well done with this post. (And thank you for fully adjusting the left rear tire/wheel, Adam) :)
I am building a 1/6 scale K.I.T.T car from fan home so i get the excitement! So far the detail is amazing!
Off the charts. Makes me want to watch the movie again.
Pre-ordered one. Can't wait.
What a gorgeous model!
this thing is AWESOME ! ANY bttf fan would love it
When I was 5, I had a die-cast DeLorean from the Universal Studios gift shop. Since my favorite BTTF film is 2, I immediately found a way to flip the rubber wheels sideways to convert the car into a proper flying time machine 😁
* Love the Oooo-ing & Ahhh-ing and almost Purring as you open the pieces & Parts.. Empathize with you both..
So Cool 😎! All those models are fantastic, so realistic ! Unbelievable
Thank you Adam for correcting that rear driver-side wheel.
5:14 LMAO the reaction to Adam taking off the plastic 😂😂
You need to add the tyre lettering on the sidewalls for that authentic look.
It's truly a thing of beauty.
Both guys being children at heart however, both very different at unboxing. On just ripping everything off the second wanting to savour every second. The shock of ripping the plastic off. Priceless.
Can't wait for mine to arrive!
Amazing. Can't wait til mine arrives. Hope you can do the Jazz Inc Batwing and 1966 Batmobile and 1989 Batmobile
Seeing them unboxing those little pieces and nerding giggling on it was hillarious because i felt the same way 😂😂😂
That is absolutely fantastic
Thank you for sharing!!!🙂
This was a total geek out moment.
Love to see you do a vid weathering it !
Two kids get a giant box in the mail, priceless.
Looks phenomenal!
Amazing can't wait to get mine
