- Having so much fun with this Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery trifold pouch project for volume 5.
Have loved creating this French secret garden inspired trifold pouch and on this video I will be sharing how I’m creating a little pocket for my embroidery scissors using a piece of vintage appliqué and a vintage French button featuring a rise growing up a trellis.
The pocket will also hold a needle keep and I share how I’m creating this from a piece of old quilt and one of my favourite edging stitches.
I also share my plans for a secret key from the dear grandpa’s antique key collection.
Then on to thread painting of the roses on the interior picket using Appleton wool. I share how I work on the curved edges of petals.
The pouch also features the I rage style fabric covered buttons I created in my video here:
• DIY easy no kit fabric...
And here’s a link to the playlist that includes earlier work on this pouch: • Roxy’s Journal of Stit...
Heye’s a link to the final video where I finish the pouch: • Roxy’s Journal of Stit...
I hope you find this slow stitching tutorial relaxing to watch and providing lots of inspiration for creating your own bespoke slow stitch pouch.
With thanks to Rachel @roxycreations679 and Sarah @roxycreationsbysarah for this fabulous project! And Juju too 🤗
Let me know @christinacreatesau if the little appliqué that I’ using fif the scissor pouch came from you 🤗
Cheers,
Christine

Lovely watching you stitch this beautiful rose. You made my ironing much more enjoyable this afternoon! 😊
Happy to have brought some enjoyment to your chores. You frequently keep me company during craft room tidying and sorting, abd of course crafting. Cheers, Christine
Love the idea of adding an inner pouch to hold sewing supplies- will have to explore the possibilities of putting in a pocket.
Thanks Elizabeth - have fun experimenting and stitching 💙🧵🪡 cheers, Christine
Your pouch looks so beautiful Christine, love your extra pockets, you can never have too many imho and especially love the sweet idea of using your Grandpa's key as a closure, definitely copying that idea :) Glad to hear Alex is home and all went smoothly xo
Thanks Annie - I’ve worked out a great approach for the key. A viewer suggested coating with clear Matt medium which I have done (to avoid rust transferable and I’ve attached it to the lower pouch on the diagonal with a little beaded elasticised loop that hooks over the bottom of the key (from a detachable decorative bra strap of all things from my bits and pieces box). Cheers, Christine
Yes it was from me, and I agree, I thought it must have been for cutlery.
What a cute way to use it.
Happy, happy mail :)

Haha - thanks Paula! So many fun ideas and just not enough crafting time! Hope all is good with you. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
It’s so beautiful. The key is a wonderful idea. I was thinking you were going to put it on the flap - the weight alone would keep it shut! 😊.
So glad to hear Alex is on the mend. 🤗❤️
Thanks Martha - I’ve worked out a great approach for the key. A viewer suggested coating with clear Matt medium which I have done and I’ve attached it to the lower pouch on the diagonal with a little beaded elasticised loop that hooks over the bottom of the key (from a detachable decorative bra strap of all things from my bits and pieces box). Cheers, Christine
@@createandcraftwithchristine sounds perfect! ❤️🤗
Love this pouch and I absolutely adore the fact that you are using one of your grandfather's keys! It's going to make an excellent closure! 😊
Thank you my dear - I love having my nanna and grandpa close by in little memory prompts 💙🧵🪡 I hope you’re doing well and you’re continuing to feel the pull of the thread to return to your slow stitching - but all in its own time too. Big love 💛
Lovely! I finished mine on Monday so I need to take some photos and post them and show it off!
Such a fun project that I started another!

I'm glad you said about Alex, I was wondering if everything had gone OK, love your little scissors pocket xx❤
Thanks Karen - we’re very relieved and he is healing well. Hope you’re having fun with pouches too 💙🧵🪡
I love that design - your pouch is going to be very handy once it’s finished!
Your embroidery painting is gorgeous, and the colours all blend so well. The Key closure is a beautiful touch - and adds so much to the interest of the design!
Thanks so much! Having fun pondering how best to create the key closure - raiding my box of odds and ends for it 🤗
@@createandcraftwithchristine I can’t wait to see what you do! I was watching and thinking that if I did that, I’d use a wider ribbon, but crossed over, so there’d be an X on the front of the bag. Sort of in keeping with the secret garden theme!
Quite by coincidence, I’m planning to have a go at creating a bag or pouch in the next month or two as well. It’s so inspiring seeing the lovely things you and others have created.
❤
Thank you Bernadette 💙🧵🪡
Lovely work. Thank you, for sharing your wonderful skills and inspirations with us. Could you demonstrate how you made that lovely yo-yo with the ribbons on it? Thank you again, always love your videos.
Thanks so much - so much fun creating 🤗 the yo-yos I have included on this one are all vintage pieces so they have a lovely worn look. Cheers, Christine
Gorgeous 🩷 What is the size of your beautiful pouch??? Your thought process is genius ❤ Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent 👏
Many thanks 🤗 when closed, the pouch measures about 31cm x 22cm. When laying flat before it is folded and sewed up it measures 31cm x 51cm. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Love how your pouch is coming out, where did you buy the pink and white lace on the back side?
Thank you Nellie - I’m trying to rack my brain where I got that lace. It may have been an op shop or possibly from Pitt Trading in Sydney as I got a box of goodies from there filled with embellishments. Cheers, Christine
Hi Christine. Hope you are well. Your stitching is beautiful. I love the extra features you’re adding to your pouch. I’m having a subscriber appreciation giveaway over on my channel. It’s open to everyone so be sure to go over and enter. Hugs 💕❤️❤️
Thank you my friend - I have your video in my watch list so look forward to joining you from my craft room tonight to see what you’re up to 🤗 cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Next time use a matte clear spray on the key first. Love your pouch.
Thank you for the most wonderful idea of coating the key! It came just in time and I used a matt clear paint on coating and the key looks even more wonderful without the risk of rust transferance! Really appreciate your suggestion Rebecca 🤗 cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
