- Hello all you lovely people, Happy New Year! Ok a little late I know 😉
In today's video I'll show you the whole process of making this adorable little needle case, isn't it gorgeous?
We'll start with the embroidery alphabet which I hope to be able to make in to a pdf to download at some point, until then pause the video and take a screen shot. Then it's on to the exciting task of choosing lovely snippets of hand embroidery or vintage fabrics that you like.
And finally onwards to the assembly of the whole thing.
For this project you will need:
Aida fabric #16
Cross stitch needle
Embroidery thread/floss
Cardboard
Wadding/batting
Selection of fabrics
Selection of lace
Buttons
Ribbon or lace make the tie
Lightweight iron-on interfacing or Bondaweb
Fabri-tac glue or similar
Pritt stick or similar
Embroidery scissors
Paper scissors
Sewing machine if hand sewing is not possible
Thread that mostly matches your fabrics
Sorry for the extensive list, and if you've got this far in reading the description well done! I suggest you watch the video first and note down measurements and materials, I give lots of ideas on what you can use instead and then go on to making your own needle case. Happy making, and thanks for watching - Eleanor 💚

It’s how we used to make photo albums in the 80’s. Lovely.
These used to be a Mothering Sunday craft project when I was at primary school. Unfortunately so for my sisters too, she had two spares of everything 😄
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you create this beautiful and unique little needle book. I absolutely love ❤❤❤❤ it and it gives me a great reason, to make some of these for gifts. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
"there are days when I can't thread these..." I can totally relate.😁
Wonderfully, clear instructions for a lovely needle book. Thank you.
That was a great video. Really helpful for a newbie like me. Thank you. Now I can't wait to start my first ever needle book. Thank you!
So cute.Thanks for clear instructions.
That background fabric is stunning … wonderful find … thank you for the lovely tutorial ❤
Thank you for showing us your step-by-step process!!
This is just lovely!
That piece on the back is indeed old as no one does tatting anymore. It is incredibly beautiful. Because tatting is so difficult it was almost always just an embellishment over something else. It was almost always done in ecru.
Awesome! It's really beautiful. I love the lace. I need to make me one of these. Thank You.
I'm totally blown away that you have some 100 year old fabric - it looks amazing. Great project!
Wow it is old isn't it? Funny I never think of it that way. Thank for watching and sharing on twitter 💚
Gracias por compartir ❤
Amazing textiles and vintage findings. I've been using the ones my grandmothers and mother made. Nearly worn out, but dear.
J'adore c'est très joli merci de France
Thank you for sharing your ideas in this video. I love the paisley fabric so much I have been through all the fabric stores in my area searching for something similar. I did find a couple of beautiful pieces!!!
Very lovely! You have inspired me to go through my old fabric bits I’ve saved over the years, now I know what I’m going to do with them!
Maravilloso trabajo❤❤❤❤
This is so pretty.
Very nice.
Encantador !!! Gracias por el tutorial 😊🎉🎉🎉
Lovely detail. I know just the person to share with.🌈
Thank you! Very excited to try it!
Your video came at a good time for me. My antique silk pin cushion has multiple tears and is falling apart. I can now make a vintage inspired case to replace it.
Perfect timing, that's good, hope your project goes well 💚
Just what I’ve been looking for! Thank you.❤❤
The final result is soooo pretty!

Hi there! Enjoyed your video and thanks for sharing. It turned out so darn pretty. All your fabrics were outstanding to choose from. Would you please let me know what were the embroidery needles that you said that you only used. After getting those, I can't wait to give this a try. Thanks again. Linda
I so want to watch your videos and thought I would try again from about a year ago but my brain doesn’t agree with the video feeling like it’s skipping all of the time. 😢
I like listening to your voice 😊
Hopefully it’s just me and there are so many other people who can enjoy your videos.
How’s your quilt coming? Hope your doing better
I'm doing much better thanks. I have to ask, which quilt? 😂😂 If it's broderie perse quilt, I've done nothing because I needed Bondaweb and monofilament thread, see 2 videos after this one. 😊
I hesitate to do one with cardboard or not cardboard.... It depends on my imagination...
Looks like tatting!!
