I got a job working at a call center for century link, sometime later I helped my girlfriend get a job there also. They put us on different teams so we wouldn't distract each other. A guy on her team started going to her cubicle all the time talking (flirting) with her. I asked if it was a problem and she said no it was harmless and he just was helping her learn the new job. I'm not a very insecure person and I didn't think I had reason to not trust her so I let it be. She's now my ex girlfriend and married to that guy.

I focused on work, trying to take the right steps to find a career path. I did the Tinder thing a bit and I kept my eyes open in case I saw a woman of value but I never did so I refused to let myself get caught up again with someone like her who I lost so much time with. Eventually though I took a job where I met the woman that would become my best friend. She's everything I could want in a partner. Had I stayed with my girlfriend from before, I likely would have never met her, and if I would have I wouldn't have paid her any attention because I wasn't interested in cheating or putting energy into other women, so she would have floated right by me. Not to mention, the ex probably would have been the death of me. So I feel like I got the upper hand on that one if anything lol. But I appreciate the good sentiment all the same. I reassured him that this is not the case as I was soo sure that nothing is wrong. I took 4 years after that just being single. I focused on work, trying to take the right steps to find a career path. I did the Tinder thing a bit and I kept my eyes open in case I saw a woman of value but I never did so I refused to let myself get caught up again with someone like her who I lost so much time with. Eventually though I took a job where I met the woman that would become my best friend. She's everything I could want in a partner.
Had I stayed with my girlfriend from before, I likely would have never met her, and if I would have I wouldn't have paid her any attention because I wasn't interested in cheating or putting energy into other women, so she would have floated right by me. Not to mention, the ex probably would have been the death of me. So I feel like I got the upper hand on that one if anything lol.
But I appreciate the good sentiment all the same. Not everyone's situation is like mine.. It's terrible how so many of us let these women ruin our lives.

This is so true, I had a friend that I didn't see that often (like once every 2-3 months through a common friend) and my fiancée always said that the guy is off. I reassured him that this is not the case as I was soo sure that nothing is wrong. One day the guy tried to kiss me although I was very distant and after i rejected him he showed up the next day at our home, broke in and tried to convince me to run away with him. Luckily my fiancée was home and pinned him down until the police came.
I repeat myself, we were not close friends at all, and I never gave him false ideas. My fiancée was right, man know what's in other men's minds. Trust your man ladies and ditch suspicious guys.
