Hey Brother! No need to feel bad! We aren’t professionals, but just ordinary men doing what we love which is working on these classic cars! Proud of you Brother! 👊🏾👊🏾
Amen
This video is the reason why I love your channel. You made a mistake and you owned it and didn't make any excuses. We all have been there and rushed something or done it when we were tired and ended up missing something small. Way to go on getting it right. The 65 sounds amazing! And the song in the video about working on Fox bodies is great!
20 seems like the magical number . That's where mine is happy. If I try 18 it let's me know right then to put it back or it's going to make my life hell 😂
"Y'all cant diagnose a problem ? No we can't !" LOL........
Brother, I'd say if anything, that little lifter issue was a blessing! Had you not torn the engine back down. Lord only knows what would've ended up happening with your rods and crank.
I know it!! 🙏
This is gold for everyone else that has this loud lifter noise
I'm so glad you got it all worked out, brother
So freaking cool that you found the problem, nothing sucks more than a noise your hearing that you
know it's not right. Great job in finding it!! Just a quick story my 04 Mustang GT been at certain times
making noises that not normal in the front of the motor. I pretty much knew what it was on 4.6l 2V
it had to be timing chain slap. While had plan on replacing the intake gaskets that always leak, and
doing everything that is while I'm in there stuff, I tackled doing timing chains, guides, tensioners, and
everything behind the front cover, it was not easy doing this with the engine still in the car, but got it done
and like you said, what a relief.
I couldnt agree more on that, if i got an issue back at home or in the shop, im thinking about it the whole time, no relaxation had, if anything more stressed out, it sucks!
That's great u found the problem and on the road again..🎉time..
I am a parts changer if I can take it apart I can put it back together excluding automatic transmissions 😂 diagnosing forget about it even worse with efi
Right there with ya!
Brother, I challenge any content providers out there today, to have been as honest about the issues with this build, as you you've been here, at every step of the way. The subtleties of the rods and pistons and their assembly positions, was a great catch!!! I believe the loose spider-dog bones slapping, was a happy coincidence, that likely saved your whole bundle of parts !!! I too, would have been distracted and miserable 😖, if I had some time, to try to get to the bottom that noise, and just tried to blow it off, go on "holiday"....
Can't wait for that next "test and tune" drive boys !!!
Keep after it boys !!!!
That Ron is one heck of a great guy! He offered to swing by my place if I was having issues with my recent install. He has my business from now on for sure!
I'm glad you figured out what the issue was. That's a good little nugget of wisdom
Enjoy your weekend Sir
I absolutely positively 100% love the Grey Ghost. Everything you do makes it better. My only question…. Why such a noisy fuel pump? It would definitely sound right on the race car, but as nice as the 65 is, not so much. My opinion, and probably the only time I have thought anything negative about anything you have done. Enjoy the off time and make sure Andrew takes a jet ski shower or 3. Lol
You know went if it stops work lol no guessing games
Brew2l always taking care of business, nothing but respect my man. Go enjoy the lake, family and friends!👈💯🙏
💯
You guys are always getting after it! 🦊
Always!
sounds better!
Good job fellas getting the ole ghost worked out sounds good
I appreciate that you own up to your mistakes. Priceless tips for the rest of us!
Gray Ghost sounds really awesome now, and I'll bet making some serious power. Hope you guys have fun at the lake, and thanks for the video!
Seeing that TKX on the Ghost puts a big smile on my face. Just finished my first 150km on mine and I can not believe how buttery smooth that transmission is. Like talk about game changer. I cannot wait to get her worked in(1000km yeh im canadian) and start really slapping gears on my 88 lx. Keep up the good work. You inspired me to get it and I am beyond happy so far.
Glad you found the problems. That definitely was piston noise from being in backwards on those couple of pistons. I learned about the dog bone spider after accidentally bending one. I noticed there wasn’t any tension on the dog bones so I bent them back.
I’m hoping soon I can get started on my projects. I have too many. Between kids, sports, taking care of elderly parents and life in general i haven’t had time to do things when i had the money, and no money when i had the time. I hope to have my 79 Bronco running, my sons 82 Bronco running, and either my dads 68 Mustang he left to me or my 89 GT this year.
Hi Brew2l, don't beat yourself up. We all make mistakes and at least you addressed it and owned up to it. Thats says a lot. Thanks for sharing. Love and blessings to you and yours. Cheers from Motown/Dearborn.
Thats why I enjoy your channel its just DIY guys getting it done even if it feels like your bashing your head against a wall. Awesome job guys. Now go get some rest and have fun.
Are we not even going to talk about that first start going so smooth?
I had a “tick” in my valve train on my 289.. did the lifters.. rockers.. The old Machinist in town said it maybe a loose valve guild…
I've had transmissions make noise that sounded like motor problems
Hell yeah bro!! Y’all going to lake. Wife and I are going to OBX!! Wife’s 50th!! So gonna have some R&R!!
I joined just to see the results of this video. I'm building a 347 also and wanted to know
Thank you for covering this.
Awesome guys !!Enjoy the lake !👊
Lifter type noise is something many roller motors deal with. Maybe its just spider tension on my stock 89 roller motor.
Thats why I bought new dog bones and lifters
Great job sorting it out. I greatly appreciate you guys being honest. We all make mistakes and it's much more helpful to share a mistake than cover it up. It's how we learn and grow. Love the car and content, be blessed guys
I see the issue...Too many Michelob Ultras during the initial assembly! 😁😂
Good job!
Love this channel, always great info and helpful ideas!
If only ever reused stock rods, they're usually numbered so it's hard to screw up. Those aftermarket rods don't look much different from one side to the other. When you get a kit, you need to lay all the pistons out and match them to a rod. Then number them so you can't screw up. It's a pain in the ass to have to go back and swap your piston to a different rod because you were watching instagram reels while doing your assembly
O ya she sounds Amazing 🐎🇺🇸🙌💪👊🔧🚗
She looks and sounds phenomenal !!!
Bro what is your shop size please ?
I'm shopping for one of my own and yours looks ideal / perfect for what I want.
Thank you✌💯
I had lifter noise that would come and go. It was junk in the galley.
So I’ve done the exact same thing with the pistons.
Which Terminator x kit did you guys use?
Are you selling the calypso clone?
Hey man I need help . I CANNOT figure out how to wire in a VSS on an 86 fox without cruise control from factory. Having idle issues.
