Toyota and Lexus are great reliable car Scotty. I drove my first Cressida in 1975 followed by 1980 Celica Gt, 1996 Supra, 2005 Prius model 5 , 2012 Avalon limited and Wife's 2016 Highlander limited.
However I hate the terrible Toyota seats and I spent probably $25K on Chiropractor and other doctors visits for Chronic back pain until I bought a 2013 Volvo XC60 in 2018. Now 85,000 miles on my Volvo and I can drive 8 hours straight without back pain.
Scotty, it doesn't always pay to focus on reliability.

After watching online for these for several months I finally started test driving them, first a '10 250 w/137k and then a '12 350 with 123k. One pulled to the left and the other to the right, and I could just tell by several other indicators driving them that they were both beaten on and not taken care of. Then I found a 2012 IS 250 with only 107k and I noticed the difference right away - this one had been well taken care of. 75-80 down the highway, let go of the wheel and it didn't budge. So smooth and solid, more like it had 30k on it. Besides a mint interior, it even had the OEM Lexus First Aid kit still in the trunk! Was worth going 2.5 hrs. from MA down to CT to buy it for $14,500. Drove like a dream the whole way home and I absolutely LOVE IT!! The front 3 plugs/coils are a breeze, then the intake manifold, miscellaneous accessories, and cowl have to come off for the back 3. I hate working on that car. I plan to unload it before the CVT starts giving me problems... it already has 175k miles.
On those Xterras... have to watch out for coolant leaking into the trans fluid in the transmission cooler/radiator units on certain years. They are pretty solid vehicles otherwise.

Great idea. The OEM headlights are superior to the aftermarket junk. They just need adjuster to be replaced.

Just did a crankshaft position sensor on my jeep ...Sooooo, after cutting a hole in the floorboard and getting the correct part it really didn't take too long ... My tip is to tie a string on the wire harness to feed the new part in ... You're welcome.

I purchased a 2012 Lexus rx350 awd with 99,000 miles in February and the only issue that I have had so far was the headlight and taillight blew out. I drove it from nyc to south Carolina 3 times and it is Smooth and very comfortable on the hwy. My only complaint is that the fuel economy is not good in the city. Other than it's a incredible machine..

Wow I bought a 2013 Rx350 2 years ago. The only issue I have had is my drivers side headlight going out. Other then that it’s like driving a dream. So smooth and reliable. Never going back to any other brand. Especially never BMW

Scotty...what about carbon build-up? The IS250s don't have the D4-S (direct and port injection). So I've heard they could have issues with carbon build-up. They say the IS350s had direct and port injection and are therefore better.
    What say you?

i've got a '98 LS400 with 360,000km and it runs like a charm... everything still works except the self leveling headlights (which I couldn't care less) !
