But main difference between Differential protection and REF is differential will not detect the fault near neutral as voltage is low, for protecting this we use REF is used,
Neutral CT is available in bushing which is ahead of NGR. Does its will change the fundamental

Ref is protected the sensitive fault only. If fault is near to winding only Ref protect. But u telling ,Current is very low ref will not protect and operate.how?
if the fault is very very near to neutral end then it can not protected so only its name restricted earth fault

If the fault near to neutral? Where if it is near to neutral point resistance is too low and fault current will flow freely. The CT will also reads fault current.
