We speak with anti-Zionist organizer and former IDF soldier from Tel Aviv Meital Yaniv, who joined hundreds of Jewish activists and their allies to shut down the California state Capitol in Sacramento Wednesday to demand a ceasefire in Gaza and condemn the roughly $600 million in California taxes that is used annually for U.S. military aid to Israel. Yaniv recalls how they were raised "extremely Zionistic," their experience in the Israeli Air Force and eventual turn to fight for Palestinian rights. "What Israel is doing right now has nothing to do with antisemitism. What Israel is doing right now is a genocide. What Israel has been doing for the past 75 years is apartheid, is occupation," Yaniv says. "There is no need for any one of us to serve in the IDF. The IDF should not exist. The state of Israel should not exist."

Zionism is an extreme form of nationalism for Jews who view the indigenous population of Palestine as in the way of their plans for a "greater Israel". They don't care how they achieve this goal, even if it means genocide or ethnic cleansing. Zionism has got nothing to do with the religion of Judaism. It's a political nationalistic ideology.

If I'm critical of Israel in the same way you are that makes me a white supremacist. So, what the Hamas, which most Palestinians support, did on Oct. 7 is not genocide? Israel has given ample warnings to the Palestinians to get out of the way before they bomb an area in Gaza. Does Hamas, who most Palestinians support, do that to Israeli civilians before they bomb them with Iranian supplied rokets? Hell, no.

Meanwhile, this book says the opposite.
      Sahin Muslim [7339] 82 - (2922) It was
      narrated that AN Hurairah said:
      "The Messenger of Allah said:
'The Hour will not begin until the
Muslims fight the Jews, and the
Muslims will kill them, until a Jew
hides behind a rock or a tree, and
the rock or tree will say: "0
Muslim, 0 slave of Allah, there is
a Jew behind me, come and kill
      him." Except the Gharqad (a
thorny tree), for it is one of the
      trees of the Jews."
      Quram 5:32-33
That is why We ordained for the Children of Israel that whoever takes a life-unless as a punishment for murder or mischief in the land-it will be as if they killed all of humanity; and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.1 ˹Although˺ Our messengers already came to them with clear proofs, many of them still transgressed afterwards through the land. Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and spread mischief in the land is death, crucifixion, cutting off their hands and feet on opposite sides, or exile from the land. This ˹penalty˺ is a disgrace for them in this world, and they will suffer a tremendous punishment in the Hereafter.

Friends, I find myself *STANDING WITH ISRAEL* for a few reasons (please do let me know if the following reasons are wrong). In 2005 Israel withdrew all Israeli security forces and 21 settlements (9000 Jews) from the Gaza Strip *in the absence of peace negotiations.* This would allow Gaza to develop their economy and build a peace-seeking society, which is developed, free, law-abiding, and transparent and which adheres to democratic principles. Palestine could have been the Hong Kong of the Middle East...
But what do we know? Hamas soon won elections there and the agricultural and industrial infrastructure left by the Israelis was destroyed and Hamas immediately began shelling Israel with rockets and have continued to invest billions towards their terrorist infrastructure underground. Is that how you repay a neighbor trying to live peacefully with you?
And then just before October 7, Israel had been working on a peace treaty with Saudi Arabia, in the spirit of the Abrahamic accords for peace in the Middle East. Sensing the progress towards peace, Hamas *(being the puppets of Iran and its desire to cut Israel off from the face of the earth)* struck with an attempted barbaric ethnic cleansing of the Jews on October 7 when babies were killed, women rap3d and killed/burned alive and young people at a music festival were gunned down in cold blood! Why is it that every everytime they celebrated their evil acts with the blood curdling chant: *"ALLAHU AKBAR!"?* What is the meaning of this chant?
I suppose you think Israel was just supposed to fold their arms and say thank you very much to Hamas, right?
The loss of innocent Palestinian life is deeply regretted (considering that Hamas is embedded in the civilian population and launches rockets from neighborhoods, schools, hospitals and kindergartens) but Israel MUST DESTROY the Hamas terrorist infrastructure so that Hamas will never recover, rearm and restart its genocidal ethnic cleansing of Israel like it tried to do on October 7.
Unless you have been living under a rock, Hamas do not care even if they get more of the land. They want all the land, the whole thing. Remember the slogan "From the river to the Sea, Palestine will be free"? Palestine, according to Muslims, will only be free if the Jews are eradicated from the river Jordan to the sea: genocide.
Hamas or Islam has no real interest in peace with Israel. If you do, then either you are deceived, dishonest or you live in a fantasy!
Hamas is motivated by their 7th century god, Allah's commitment to the death-wish of eradication of Jews.

      Salam, Shlama, Shlomo, Shalom, Peace.
Before commencing creation, ALLAH (The One and Only Unseen God) gathered the souls of Prophets He would send down to Earth and made a covenant with them saying:
“Take whatever I give you from the Book and Hikma (understanding of My Laws), and afterwards, there will come to you a Messenger (i.e. Muhammad, peace be upon him) confirming what is with you; u must then believe in him and help him.” - Qur’an 3:81.
Almost all Buddhist books contain this prophecy. It is in Chakkavatti Sinhnad Suttanta D. III, 76: "There will arise in the world a Buddha named Maitreya (the benevolent one) a holy one, a supreme one, an enlightened one, endowed with wisdom in conduct, auspicious, knowing the universe:
"It is said that I am not an only Buddha upon whom the leadership and order is dependent. After me another Buddha maitreya of such and such virtues will come. I am now the leader of hundreds, he will be the leader of thousands."
      Vedas - Hindu:
The Bhavishya Purana (The History of Future) has a reference regarding someone named “Mahamada”. It is explained in the Bhavishya Purana (Parva 3, Khand 3, Adhya 3, verses 5-6) that "An illiterate mleccha [foreigner] teacher will appear, Mahamada is his name, and he will give religion to his fifth-class companions."

We are reminded by the great Israeli philosopher Yeshayahu Leibowitz introduced the term "Judeo-Nazis." He argued that continued military occupation of the Palestinian territories would lead to the moral degradation of Israeli Defense Force (IDF), with individuals committing atrocities for state security interests. In 1988, Holocaust survivor Yehuda Elkana warned that the tendency in Israel to see all potential threats as existential and all opponents as Nazis would lead to Nazi-like behavior by Jews. During the First Intifada, historian Omer Bartov was enraged by Yitzhak Rabin's call to "break the bones" of Palestinians and wrote him a letter arguing that, based on Bartov's research, the IDF could be similarly brutalized as the German Army was during World War II.

"I start with the story of my great great grandma telling their Story of Survival, because in that Story of Survival there's also the The Need to Escape, and in that need, the need to assimilate into a new identity of a colonizer, of a settler colony, and in the doing of that there wasn't a moment of care, to take care of what just happened in their bodies, and that became a need to Arm ourselves.
I mean, I feel like I see it as a fear of annihilation, also an extreme form of victim-hood that is in our bodies, and from that place it's always been very, very hard when I see my elders, to release the Arms and to really tend to that original trauma."

Do you expect Israel to do nothing after their country gets invaded? If your daughter gets raped and murdered, do you want your government to do nothing about it?

  • @irrittt
    @irrittt Před 3 měsíci +2

As an Israeli, I do understand where she's coming from when she says "criticising Israel is not antisemitic" and I agree. But she's doing quite the generalisation, from, probably a handful of cases where an Israeli reacted to criticism against Israel as "antisemitic" without actually thinking about it being a valid criticism. Now, painting everyone who ever claims that something is an antisemitic remark as- only them not being able to take valid criticism against their country- feels like gaslighting. It's not the judgement & criticism of the Israeli government that makes Jews & Israelis think a person may be antisemitic, it's the content of the criticism, i.e. when people say that the Israelis that got murdered on Oct 7th by Hamas deserved it because they lived on an occupation (which majority of them were just born there - out of their control) - believe it or not but it's possible to hold empathy for both. And to have this callous lack of empathy for Israelis/ Jews, which I've seen A LOT, - is not so out of the realm of possibilities that it's from a source of antisemitism, even if mild. Or, saying that Israel should be destroyed or that Jews shouldn't have a state - in this day and age, Israel being surrounded by countries & people who, undoubtedly, hate Jews, and is very much normalised in families and societies to hate Jews (I know my stuff, have done my research and you can't gaslight me into thinking that unconditional antisemitism doesn't exist) to say that the Jews shouldn't have a country where they can be safe & protected from the undoubtedly surrounding bitter enemies ESPECIALLY in this day and age - is not out of the realm of possibilities that you hold antisemitic views. Again, I'm sick & tired of this narrative that Jews & Israelis calling certain things antisemitic is them being hard asses & paranoid, when as an Israeli I've seen more antisemitic opinions, statements, and acts by anti Israeli ppl than I've EVER seen in my life - when many of the anti Israeli ppl don't even stop and think if, and why they may have a certain bias against Jews & Israelis specifically. And I've seen some WILD takes, so many that are NOT just criticism against Israel, but straight up Jew hate. I don't have to reason with that! Palestinians deserve to live in peace & harmony, yes. There are reasons to why things are the way that they are, and it's unfortunate, and it's heartbreaking. And from what I've observed the past 4 months, so many people do not even care to question the source of the reasons of why things are the way that they are. Everyone is allowed to criticise Israel & the gov & I do too, and my peers do. But, we're allowed to call antisemitism when we see it, so please stop gaslighting us.

As a Swede, I can agree with you on many levels. I've followed the conflict since the days of Arafat and I have to say it's an extremely difficult situation to judge. Those who say otherwise are not taking everything into account.
The propaganda is strong from all sides and angles and many have valid points while some are straight up lies.
For example the difference between an Israelite and an Israeli citizen. The difference between the nation Israel and the State of Israel.
The definition of the terms jew and jewish.
What is a jew? Ask ten people and you will get ten different answers.
Is it about race? Ethnicity? Religion?
And what is a palestinian? Is there even such a thing?
