This is my favourite Sohyang performance and she wasn't even well here, but recovering from another bout of pneumonia.
Are you serious? I had no idea. That’s the mark of true greatness.
SoHyang is really a miracle. People who are touched emotionally by her are privileged. No need to be ashamed or to apologize. On the contrary, those who have the ability to see her light have received a huge gift. In any case, I am grateful for it!
Sohyang's voice has been praised by innumerable vocal coaches. They often bring insightful and knowledgeable observations that fascinate me and make me appreciable the technical mastery Sohyang has with her vocal talent. However, nothing they say would beat a reaction connected to the listener's heart like the one you had here. This is the ultimate objective of Sohyang's singing. We are taken into her world feeling the sentiment she prepared for us in her performance. We go on an emotional rollercoaster, as well as a spiritual journey, and end up with a sense of bliss and gratitude for having such a memorable experience.

So Hyang never sings in half measures--she leaves it all on the stage. They used to follow her backstage with their TV cameras after she sang and she would collapse into an arm chair or flop on a sofa and hang her tongue out! She makes ALL of us guys cry, too, Steph!
As others already noted, the gentleman was Shane Filan of the Irish boy band "Westlife",
who also had "You Raise Me Up" as a hit in Great Britain. This episode on
Immortal Song 2 is Shane Filan Special so all the invited singers performed his songs
with their own interpretation. In the pre-performance interview segment,
So Hyang mentioned that this rendition represents her personal story, presumably about
her faith. If her Arirang Alone gives you a trip about Korean history, Sohyang's
masterful "You Raise Me Up" delivered a spiritual journey.
By the way, Josh Groban met up with Sohyang and performed together on stage "All I Ask Of You"
during his 2018 tour in South Korea.

in such poor condition. And definitely she is much more than great technician
and has Perfect Control of Her Gift...and Her singing is so special.
So Being a Cancer survivor And still gets sick from Time to time. But is an Amazing Artist
who gave up a Kpop career to sing for the Lord and for the Love of Music instead of stardom.
She learned English as a Child from Disney Movies, which inspired her to Write two of her
Books...(both Published and there are more).
Not only is she utterly amazing, but how about those musicians and supporting vocalists. It's like they were built for her. A++ production all around. One of the best vocalist on the planet surrounded by an extremely talented accompaniment. What else could you want. And she was performing while sick as well. Just amazing
Sohyang also has an absolutely magnetic stage persona and charisma. People are simply drawn to her because of her girl next door beauty. Then when she opens her mouth and starts singing, people can't stop listening and watching her. As you say Stephanie, she is truly way above every other female singer I've ever seen. Her voice is other worldly in its beauty and we can't tear ourselves away from her performance. She has _everything_ and a whole lot more. I am so glad that God made her and gave her to us as a musical gift. 😎💘👌

In English we say pneumonia like.... nemonia. We do not pronounce the p. Yes she was told by a Dr. that evening, not to speak. Weak lungs and a bad throat, but she hates to let her fans down and has HUGE faith in God. No other singer would have risked their voice like that. I am also a believer in God. She makes me, an old man, cry all the time. In this old mans opinion, she is the best female vocalist on the planet.

I'm a Korean and I was there on the spot of this performance and at the time , she was exhausted temporarily in her waiting room after singing this song bcz of not following her doctor's advice. When I heard it from the staff , I couldn't stop tearing.😢

This show is more touching because she sings in sickness ㅠ-ㅠ
She does have that effect on us that we wanna cry. After all she says her mission is to sing for those who are suffering and struggling in life to try give them some comfort. When she was 19-20 years old she survived Cancer and due to that she feels God gave her a second chance. So singing for those who are down is her way to thank God and give back. She sings straight from the heart and it's as pure it could possibly be.

Yes. I don't like it when reactors stop a dozen times during a performance - especially with Sohyang because her performances take us on a trip and breaking it up destroys that momentum. Her arrangements are designed that way, and it just gets lost.

There is only one reason why I cry when I hear Sohyang's song. It is a situation that is being healed without knowing it. About the videos, especially.those of SoHyang, they will get blocked and you will get copyright strike's if you do not pause them or edit them. Some.peope.make them like a it's hard to see the video. Likes you are looking at it through a curtain, I'd that makes sense. As long as it is not as it was aired on Korean TV, you will not get blocked. It does not seem to.be all videos of hers. Just letting you know as I love your reactions and do not want you to give up if one gets blocked. Some also reverse the image or do a split with both playing like mirror images.
