I was in a therapy group with Holland in the 70s. She was charming, brilliant and supportive of everyone in the group. Her success is well earned and I wish her only the best
@@jeremysears4263 This is a great scene. It showcases Holland's wonderful strength and vulnerability. It's also very authentic. This is the Holland I remember and admired.
She has always been a brilliant actress who also has an enormous amount of class to her. Holland Taylor is a brilliant human being who is never a disappointment to watch. And in life, a remarkable person.
The Practice was good before Holland Taylor, but it was amazing with her. I loved Roberta and this scene is the only that I remember after all of these years. She was just fantastic.
"I gave him the best flattio known to mankind" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I watched this clip while eating at fast food store, and I almost spit out my food when I heard her say that. 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I didn't remember how HILARIOUS and dramatic that 'The Practice' was until I watched this clip. This was a classic clip as it related to her character.
Oh, to be young again. Full of energy, vitality and vigor! I'm just now remembering having had a similar experience over an extended weekend during my freshman year in college. Man oh man oh man.
8 for me, but I was in college, 3rd year, & living the time of my Life. The year was 1983, I was only 17 yrs old, & she was a 30ish yr old Hippie Weed/XTC loving Anal freak. I still think about Yvonne in the yr 2020.
As well acted and outrageously funny as Holland Taylor's performance is in this scene, the male actors' shocked facial reactions of disbelief are even better. As a lawyer, you know you have lost control of a deposition when this happens. LOL
I just have to note this observation. Watch 2:25. The opposing counselor obviously wanted more of the word porn. That was pretty clear from the way he said "and then?". The hilarity of it can only be conveyed by a top notch actor. Many comments on here says that Holland deserves an award for this scene. I completely agree, but so did the actor who played the opposing counsel.
There were lots of funny moments in the series. Season 8 in particular (without giving away too much) had an episode of a client with a thick accent being blown up in a toilet. That was the funniest thing i ever saw in the show 😅😅
I first saw her years ago on I think it was the edge of night. She was the hillen to save a list. And I have followed her career since then. She is a wonderful actress. smart funny
I was supposed to say that she was the villain to say the least. My mother and I were fans of hers on anything she did. And I am so happy that she has found happiness
@Kenny James You are absolutely right, it most definitely is sexual harassment. Just because he was a willing participant is irrelevant. She was in complete power mentally, emotionally and more important, professionally She was decidedly older and much more experienced. She was the powerful judge, he was the lowly clerk. She controlled the entire relationship. She decided when they would have sex, where they would have sex, how often they would have sex, what sexual acts they would do, when he was to arrive to work, when he would go to lunch, when he was to leave for the day, I could go on and on... She led him by an emotional, mental and sexual string. She groomed and molded him for her own pleasure the same as an older, more mature man does to a younger, less experienced girl. He was just an eager and excitedly willing pawn. Anyone who actually watched the show at all knows that this is what she did as a matter of course. Her character's M.O. was to choose men who were not only decidedly younger but also emotionally and sexually immature compared to her. Later in the series she also seduced Jimmy. All that having been said, it was just a TV series. David E Kelley deliberately wrote this ongoing scenario into the series. He is an absolute Genius! Which is why us fans of "The Practice" love the show so much.
For living fuck's sake, this series aired almost 20 years ago, this episode around 2000. We recognize this behavior clearly as abuse of power NOW, but we didn't then, whatever the sex of the perpetrators. This episode is only 5 or so years after the Clinton sex scandal, which no one recognized as abuse until almost 20 YEARS LATER. So turn off your reverse time machine and stop applying today's standards to the early 2000s. Ridiculous.
@@ATLienForLife this is all absolutely correct, but remember that 20 years ago nobody recognized these situations as inherently coercive: that we see this is a very recent development, like in the last
@@MaxwellsDemon9 I can understand what you're saying. As I wrote at the end of my comment, it is only a TV series. And an outstanding series at that. That being said, the recognition of how heavy an influence of a man's power over a woman's consent isn't really that new. In the 1991 Clarence Thomas, Anita Hill hearings the main issue was not whether the behavior in question was an abuse of power over her consent to keep working for him (which was generally accepted as fact), but whether or not it could be proven that Anita Hill's version events was true. And keep in mind, while the major media dubbed Bill Clinton's actions as simply a marital indiscretion, numerous groups and organizations recognized that Monica's "decision" to participate was heavily influenced by Bill's power. But like I said, this was only a scene from a television series. Hell, when it first aired I remember thinking "Damn, why can't that happen to me!" The Practice was indeed a brilliant creation from the mind of a genius, David E Kelley!
Holland Taylor deserved that Emmy
She most certainly did

Ahhh, Holland Taylor, she knows the way to go around the block.

Came for the steamy onset of the Kittleson-Berlutti affair, stayed for the sublime mastery of Holland Taylor’s acting.

Do you remember how her character seduces Jimmy?

Roberta was in there spreading that boy like peanut butter.
"....stand up Kevin" hahaha!
Would love to see her and Helen Miren in a film together.
Holland Taylor is a brilliant actress with an attitude 😁! 🔥💟!
The whole series was really amazing
WHAT A GORGEOUS WOMAN
If Blanche Devereaux were a judge.
*And had a Philadelphian accent
"Stand up Kevin."
11 times in one day Jesus
Bryanna O'brien I agree, 11 times?! All I can say is “Damn woman, I’m scared of you” 😂😂😂

My record was 8.
I loved that he sat up to try to look over table
Now that's a cougar
Simply gorgeous. Wish I would have been Kevin.
To be in Kevin's place would mean nirvana!
The Sexual Intensity of that scene is right up there with Sharon Stone's infamous Basic Instinct interrogation.
"And then?" That face lol

SHE IS SO HOT. I UNDERSTAND SARAH TOTALLY.
I agree....I find her sexy as hell.
right???
Yeah I couldn't believe it when I found out myself that the actress from AHS is her real life partner at the moment.
As everyone tries to hide the fact they got wood while she was talking.

I was under the impression that everyone wanted to hear more of it, except the other lady in the room.
3:09 Opposing counsel is flustered and lost for word's
Best part of that is those guys expressions...epic. wtf
Wow, what a character!
What a character!!! in the most positive way i. e❤️
Turned his young ass out!
She is a goddess.
As a gay chick, she can play a straight one pretty well
Family Style!
@1:11 "he reached across for something" whispers in a performative way "i don't remember what" lol
I wish Alan shore was here lol!! He would've enjoyed this case so much
Now I know where Charlie got his talent from
no shame in her game......u go girl !!!!! lol
I think she was fantastic in the character she played as Charlie's mother in Two and a Half Men she came off as very sexy! And she is!
How right you are
And a great actress.
That was the sexiest and most seductive performance in TV history!
She said he was titillated
That's why she's Charlie's mom

Well...That didn't sound immodest!❤
Well, ya see....that's about the most you could hope for on cable television.
smokin'!
"And then"
Oh if only that happened in real life!🤣
Who says it doesn't happen...all the time?
Damn
I am in love with her myself.
Charlie’s mom here!😮
Charlie Harpers mom was smoking hot...
episode and season please
Holy shit! Need a cold shower after that one.
The only humorous scene from The Practice I think.
There were many other scenes of a humorous nature. Like this one, the vast majority of them carried a serious and dark overtone to them.

"Come clean"??
hahaha
I caught that too! 😂
WHAT SEASON AND EPISODE IS THIS!!!!!!!!!
3x16 "End Games".
I wish they'd have done more with the relationship between Roberta and Bobby, they just stopped dating and acted like nothing happened
And she is actually a lesbian......what a great actor !!!!!!

2:35 until me.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
And then what happened...
It is not that she is physically gorgeous Her verbal and facial expressions are seductive.

Now, imagine how inappropriate this deposition would have been if the defendant was a guy.
Hilarious that you think men haven’t said the exact same thing in innumerable depositions.
all you have to do is have a woman describe her oral skills and men turn to stone
