Hello, dear Rabeea! Thank you very much for your video. This is a very sincere and completely understandable story. I would really like to support you and say a lot of kind, pleasant words. I, as a foreign lawyer, as a woman, also need these words today. I can briefly share my position regarding your case. In my opinion, this story is not surprising, it is completely expected. No one is waiting for us, foreign lawyers, in a foreign country; no one is obliged to help us or see anything special in us. I came to Canada recently and my move was not based on my desire. It was forced immigration, like violence against me, which came from outside. This form of violence also includes the fact that, after many years of experience as a lawyer, having several diplomas and degrees, I cannot continue my practice in Canada. Once again, this is completely understandable. You said everything correctly about the language and nature of law, which may differ from country to country. In my country this is a continental, civil law, which I cannot apply here. Although I have specialized in the protection of intellectual property rights for many years, and regulation in this area is international and universal, I will not be able to quickly (and maybe never be able to) realize myself as an expert in Canada. To be honest, after observing various examples and studying the local rules for a foreign lawyer to enter the Canadian legal community, I am becoming less and less inclined to do this. It seems that the time and money I have to spend to prove my worth to a “partner at a well-known law firm in Toronto” is not worth it. I could probably spend my time more efficiently. I would not like to live for many years in the process of proving to local lawyers the fact that the philosophy of law (in every sense) for me is the air that I breathe. I live not only by the nature for which Canada is famous, but by the nature of fundamental legal principles. I was taught this way a long time ago in my law school by my respected professors. Therefore, the understanding of law and a certain special form of being in which a lawyer arrives will remain with me forever. And these are not pretentious, empty words. It's true, I hope you understand. For now, I don’t see the point in these humiliating procedures to prove something to anyone. Again, don't get me wrong. All these rules and prejudices really look like discrimination and a form of humiliation. I don't want to be a masochist and suffer. Nevertheless, we must be aware that being a lawyer is difficult in any country - yours, mine or any other. Everywhere you have to fight for your reputation and for your clients. It's a tough business. I only agree that entry into this profession, like doctors and engineers too here, in Canada, should be more justified and fair, based on personal achievements, knowledge, and skills. Everyone should have equal chances, regardless of their nationality, gender, country of origin or language. It's completely natural. Thank you again. I remain your devoted follower.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sure that was difficult and took a lot to do, but it's great for others to have the benefit of different perspectives and experiences.
