Only a matter of logic. If there is one true God and all the world is his creation then to be closer to him is to understand his world and its fundamental rules. When people had many gods, each one would itself be an explanation and could contradict any other god without question.

The gist of it is, if you believe in Jesus and accept Him you are God's children, it is through the blood of Jesus we are bonded with Him. If you deny Jesus, you are the seed of satan, he is your father. It goes all the way back to the garden of eden and eve partaking in the "fruit", which was not a literal fruit, more nefarious, where as the fruit she gave to adam was a literal fruit, not to go into details. I do not understand how you could think that someone believing in Christ is opposed to science, and that God is limited to the rules or order of our world/ plane of existence. The golden ration, also known as the "standard of beauty" is a mathematical formula that all of creation adheres to. That in itself is undeniable scientific proof of "intellectual design" not a cosmic coincidence.

God gave people instructions on cleanliness and health to adhere to for the reason they did not have what we have today. One thing I'll point out that is scientific beyond a reasonable doubt that God gave man, which is written in Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood:" and man only figured out what to make of it in the late 18th century.
Jesus did not do signs and wonders for the sake of showing of, He did it so those who witnessed it would believe and spread word of it. Which is also why we don't walk by sight, but by faith. Much the same as you are walking by faith and not sight. I am not saying that you can look at a car and say it is not science, because it is science. There is a lot that isn't science and requires faith in order to believe, an example is evolution, it is no where scientifically proven let alone observable yet people believe in it, and that is called faith, because they are told that it is truth.
Go a step further and look at all western pagan and eastern religions, where are the technological achievements or advancements? Yet when you follow history of where there was Christendom you had growth in knowledge and technological fields to the extent of what we are able to do today. The civilisations prior to it such as Babylon and then Egypt as an example, where given knowledge by the fallen sons of God, yet that knowledge is not around anymore.
There is a fine line between truth (that encompasses science) and bullshit (that also encompasses science, but is not science)
As a Christian I am all for science. I am competent enough to know that there is plenty of pseudo science
