I don’t know if it’s weird, but my most favorite, most iconic Catherine’s outfits that knocked me out of my socks were her funeral outfits for prince Phillip’s and the queen’s funerals. Simply iconic, seeping with somber elegance, poise and strength all in one picture. Did I say iconic?:)

Not weird at all, she managed to look incredibly powerful and dignified in such a difficult situation, she had to look perfect as she was entering a new, very important chapter of her life, she had to (and did) look surreal, a queen on duty, aware of herself and her role.

I always think that Diana, Catherine and Meghan all took/take very different approaches to clothes.
I think that Diana loved clothes, she probably spent hours looking at fashion mags and once she found her grove she was the best dressed woman of her time. (I am old enough that I remember her wedding, which happened before she found her groove IMO).
I think that Catherine is very different. For her, clothes are part of the job, and she is very diligent and works hard, with her team, to put together the right outfit down to the tiniest detail. She thinks hard about the message she wants to send and buys clothes with a view to the long term and gets them tailored to fit. But, for her, the appearances she makes are more about the cause, the people, the reason behind the visit or whatever. The clothes are a uniform and she gets it right and enjoys that, but the enjoyment of the clothes is secondary.
Meghan? She sees something she likes and buys it. But she is lazy, she is not prepared to put in the effort to find the right outfit for the occasion. She does not do a trial run to make sure it fits or that she has the right accessories or undergarments, that's too much effort for her. She needs a good stylist, but is either too tight-fisted or to hard to work with to find and keep a good stylist.
Basically, Diana was a natural clotheshorse, Catherine is a hard working professional woman and Meghan is lazy

Your analysis of the three women’s approaches to clothing is spot on! And I had to chuckle when I read your comment about Diana’s wedding dress - I am old enough to remember her wearing it, too - or was the dress wearing her? But I think we all fell in love with her a little bit more that day, with her fairytale dress to wear when she married her fairytale prince.
And I agree with your analysis about Nutmeg being too lazy to find the proper undergarments. But…how hard is it to find the right bra and stick to that style? It’s not like she’s got a full-time job doing something else!

I find your insights on etiquette and dressing appropriately for the occasion really educational. I do love the princess of wale’s style , although in her earlier days as a new royal she dresses slightly too mature or matronly sometimes . Recently however she has been killing it with the power suits , love the shift in style to more sophisticated and chic looks but still never flashy and always appropriate. The Meg however, I have find her having more miss than hits, some outfits are not too bad , most times though it is atrocious (ps Carolina Herrera red dress). Hair and makeup always messy, and don’t even get me started on the underwear . The other problem I noticed is that the megs posture tend to make cloths not sit in the right place , hyper extended knees and back. Not to mention she never tailor her clothes to fit properly .

I am a few years older than Diana was, so I recall what she wore in her early days with the royal family. She wasn't naturally stylish; she made many poor choices then. But Diana was willing to listen and learn, and over time, she did develop her own style, which was wildly popular at the time and is still remembered fondly today. Catherine had the advantage of a mother who dresses well, and clearly offered guidance, as well as a long courtship, during which she clearly studied what to do. Her fabulous figure further enhances all her choices. MM, I am afraid, is just a label wh---. MM wants to boast about designer clothing and jewelry, and doesn't appear to have any sense of what looks best on her own figure.

There is even a book about it, “ The Lady Di Book: What Diana Was Trying to Tell Us Through Her Clothes,” by Eloise Moran. The arch villain, First Lady Trump, famously wore her “I Don’t Care, Do You,” jacket on a visit to a refugee center in the U.S. Dressing for the occasion was something that used to be ingrained in our education. I remember my grandmother teaching me what “ladies” wore when, what ladies never showed, and what ladies never wore. Being just a year younger than Diana, I remember the highlights, lowlights & challenges of 80's fashion (think shoulder pads & boxy blazers). She did a marvelous job of making fashion fit her style, & the world followed. Catherine is truly today's Icon of classic & classy, all while remaining accessible & relatable. She knows what works for her & she wears everything with absolute confidence (as Diana did). I could rhapsodize for hours on Catherine's perfection, but you spoke so eloquently on that already.
As for Camilla, she is truly blooming i n her new role as Queen Consort. I feel she waited a respectful period of time (I believe) in the spirit of bygone days, when you wore subdued colors when in mourning for the loss of a much loved family member. Now she has truly begun to shine with these beautiful, strong colors that suit her so well and befit her position.
The Meg is a lost cause. She won't ever take advice, or learn from her mistakes. She believes she is perfect, & always knows best. She will continue to be a dismal disaster, and an absolute fashion failure. Thanks for another highly entertaining & educational video. Merry Christmas Beebs, luv ya Honey!❤️🎄❤️

The problem with the negative opinions of Princess Catherine's style is:
-They don't make a distinction between Royal and Celebrity, even if British, a royal is a royal.
-they may not understand the British culture, though speaking English, it's not a monolith, nor is it the same in any Commonwealth country, and especially, NOT America.
-Princess Diana or maybe it was Queen Elizabeth, wore couture of the country they visited or of visitors to the UK. Case in point, Dior I'd French, Queen Camilla naturally wore Dior to the state visit in France. I'm sure the couture was planned well before the Dior potential for The Meg.
-i believe that Queen Elizabeth once surmised that she liked wearing bright colors out to many occasions because she was short and believed she should be seen by the people. She was NOT an invisible monarch.
-The Meg still chases notoriety but cannot overcome being notorious. She did not want royal lessons. She did not want the royal life, just the royal treasure and stardom. We saw this in every single outfit she wore and wears, and especially, the way she poses as she did recently in a too long Beige off the shoulder outfit. Nothing is specially designed for her, not even the awful inverted nipple red dress.
-The Meg is a trend follower, Princess Catherine though, IS NOT a trend setter. Though she may set some trends, it's not and never has been her focus. She isn't LOOK AT MEEE! While The Meg walks around in parking lots speed dialing paps, a Princess, even Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, plus Dutchess Sophie, and OMG Princess Ann, do their best to represent their station to which they were married into, or born into. It's a respect that The Meg didn't give a crap about.

Everyone wore humongous maternity wear, shoulder pads (with strong shoulders I cut out when possible), super bright or patterns on everything! HMTQ had clothiers on payroll which is why her style is timeless and monochromatic but did any other royal? We the people could only suffer, especially when fashion went against our body type or preferred colors.

Ironically Queen Camilla actually dislikes being in the limelight, she dislikes being the focus of attention and it says A LOT about the love she has for both Charles AND her country that despite this she stepped into a role that she has NEVER wanted (because she is shy and doesn't like being the focus of attention) and is willingly doing the one thing she hates. Becoming the centre of attention.
As to the soft power, seems that Queen Camilla did more for DIOR when she wore that stunning dress on the state visit to France - and it was all FREE publicity as well - than any of the ''paid'' models or ''face of Dior'' have done (allegedly one reason Meghan never stood a chance with Dior, why use her - and have to pay her even if only in cheaper clothing - when you can have the Queen of the UK look absolutely stunning in a dress by you and get instant WORLDWIDE publicity).

😂😂😂 if she didn’t like the limelight she could have chosen not to marry Charles or go by the title Queen instead of Queen consort. She and Charles definitely worked on improving her image and making her palatable to the British public- the one true observation Harry made in Spare. Harry didn’t even have to mention it, anyone who is observant would have noticed how Charles/Camilla/staff wanted it to come out to the public that Camilla was interacting with Diana’s kids and they liked her/had forgiven her. The message to the public was clear, if Diana’s kids had forgiven Camilla and liked her, the public should forgive her and accept her as the people she had most wronged had forgiven her. Camilla was slowly introduced to the public and given positive press by Charles staff to push public acceptance. Seems like Camilla didn’t mind all the titles, pomp and circumstances. If she doesn’t like the attention, then why on earth is she hosting the totally unnecessary podcast. As queen , doesn’t she have better things to do than imitate the ridiculous Meghan Markle. Puhleeze.

😊You so sweet Beebs to give The Meg “the benefit of the doubt” about her clothing choices. I was horrified back when the photos of her first started appearing in the press, and with all we know now I just can’t agree she didn’t do it on purpose!! I think she chose clothes that she thought made her look sexy or daring!! Or was something that was really expensive so be dammed with how it looked, I’m surprised she didn’t leave the price tags on! AND she refused to listen to anyone!! Even when I am SURE she was given specific instructions like “be sure to wear a hat, tights, no bare shoulders” ~ like when she was traveling with the Queen (!!) ~ she just refused to do what anyone told her. When I saw those photos from that trip I lost any respect I might have had for The Meg, and my opinion of her just went down from there. And showing up for Prince Louis’ christening in that ugly out-of-place attention grabbing olive dress was beyond mean ~ it was evil and she did it on purpose!!! And Harry knew better and he let her do it! In the photo he looks uncomfortable and she looks smug!! If I was going to “photoshop” anything it would be to change the color of her dress! Or take the Duplicitous Duo out of the picture completely and put a large potted plant in their place!! 😢

I love her sentimental choices where her thoughtfulness shows through. I love how royals rewears outfits. Catherine rewears her outfits and it is interesting hows she style it differently. Meghan doesn’t think about her audience and she thinks expensive is better. It is not. She needs to dress for the occasion and also for her body. I love how Catherine mixes and matches high street, designer & couture clothing. I love how Catherine and Queen Elizabeth dressed for their event together where Queen Elizabeth whore pink and Catherine wore gray with pink accents.

Perhaps to relieve her shyness, she imagined them all to be naked!

The mores have changed so much since the 80s. Diana wore designer only and had, until the end when she went far more for skirt suits, no particular style. She just wore designer clothes and had huge, huge choice. Always looked appropriate.
These days the public wouldn't go for tbat sort of dressing, it only highlights how much money they have available to spend on clothing.. do YOU have hundreds of coats, hundreds of handbags? So Catherine wears a lot of High Street clothing and looks wonderful in all of it. She helps British fashion - her clothing sells out immediately, a great advertisement for UK wares.

Catherine is even more beautiful than Diana, her figure is enviable although some people think her too thin and wonder if she has bulimia, she has not. Catherine is very active. You are so right when you comment that Catherine has clothes that not only fit properly but are appropriate for the occasion. The Princess of Wales wears jewels naturally, she conducts herself so composedly that it's never overpowering to look, even when she has major pieces like Queen Mary's Lovers Knot. She never allows the jewellery to be the focal point of her appearance, that's why people look for the good meaning and reason when she wears them. She understands.

❤Hi Beebs😊 I don’t know about you, or others who watch your videos, but I get really steamed when people complain about how much the Royal Family “costs the taxpayers of the United Kingdom”! Someone actually did the math and it comes out to around £1.75/per YEAR per person! And even if it was more, as you pointed out in this video, the billions they generate in the fashion industry! AND the amount of money they raise for charity and the spotlight they put on the organizations. AND the tourism!!!! And the FACT is that a lot of the expensives for the King, Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales are paid for by King Charles PERSONAL income and the Duchy of Cornwall. The tax payers DO not pay for their clothes!! William and Catherine pay rent on Adelaide cottage. They pay for their (one) nanny and their children’s school tuition out of personal funds. Probably the biggest expense to the taxpayers is for security, which I think is worth it. ❤

When Queen Elizabeth II was living, I noticed that Catherine would generally wear pastels on appearances with the Queen. She knew the Queen would be in bright colors, and I think the pastels were a good symbol that Catherine was a queen in training. Catherine saved the bright colors for appearances involving herself only, where she would be the royal to command attention. I remember I had imprints from the strapless bra I had to wear to prom for three days after. It was obviously not well fitted, and was so uncomfortable! I threw that thing away! I think Queen Camilla dresses very well to flatter her body. The Bruce Oldfields are great on her and beautiful clothes.

Possibly Catherine may actually not "enjoy" wearing the jewels -- I remember in the engagement interview when the interviewer commented on Diana's ring, among her 1st responses, was she said that she "hopes she can keep it safe," as in acknowledging, it's such a priceless piece - and she is now responsible for it.. personally it would stress me out, I may have dupes made of everything and wear those. I would be the type to have to check every 5 seconds "are my earnings still on; is my ring still there!?" - i may be consumed by it. Lol. So from this point of view, maybe that is what she means?

“Stealth wealth” is snobbery, pure and simple. I applaud the members of the RF who wear their things many times for years, take good care of and repair them, and include more mass-market purchases. Megan mistakes high-cost designer items with stylish, flattering ones, but they aren’t automatically so, or even good quality. All designers use dirt-cheap synthetic fibers now, then sell them at markups thousands of times their cost, but there’s no such thing as good-quality polyester, acrylic, etc. I remember seeing a brown pleated midi skirt I liked at Ralph Lauren, but it was $400 for a polyester skirt with a polyester lining! I found an identical one, except for the label, at Amazon or H&M, etc. (can’t recall now) for $35, less than one-tenth the RL cost and have worn it happily many times (I saw RL soon cut the price in half, but they still had difficulty moving it out of there at $200). I really thinks Megan wants people to say things like “wow, she’s wearing a $5K dress”! Wearing designer clothes doesn’t have any style merit, wearing mass-market clothes, but making them look like designer ones does! No wonder she any Harry are practically prostituting themselves to earn a little, doing something, anything! They should try economizing, like the British Royal Family does. Buy fewer, choose better and make them last! (Paraphrasing the late designer Vivienne Westwood).

I really believe that ones wife resales all of her clothes. That is why nothing is altered or tailored. Why her shoes are too big is there a "designer size" used by manufacturers therefore I think she choose that size for resale purposes. As for ill fitting lingerie or lack of it I think it just comes from her not being able to listen to anyone who says you may need to wear a bra or a different size. Here in Oz we say don't you have a single friend who let you leave the house looking like that. Love love your show, just a suggestion a new back ground for 2024 would be great.
