Removing your parrot's feather sheaths

- I haven't posted in a while, but this is basically what's up. My interaction with them is the same old. Princess lost a whole bunch of neck feathers so they needed some urgent de-sheathing when they were good and ready. Most of the blood receded way back down to her skin. New feathers grow with a sheath covering them that is removed during preening when the feather is ready and the blood has receded.

What's a feather sheath? I don't have birds so am unfamiliar
Basically, a feather begins in a little "pin" or tube that delivers blood to the feather, so it can grow. When the feather has mostly or fully grown, the pin becomes useless and flakes off as dust (all that dandruff coming off the bird). The owner is breaking the old pins to unfurl the feathers the bird can't easily reach.
