  • Gender identification of cocktail
    The ways to determine the gender of cockatiel
    Cockatiels are one if not the most favorite pet birds out there. They are smart, charming, interactive, and beautiful. They have some unique aspects to their personality and appreciating them for who they are is key to living in harmony with Nymphicus hollandicus.
    Not all parrot species are “sexually dimorphic,” which means you can tell the males and females apart. With cockatiels, most color mutations (coloring that is different from the wild cockatiel’s) have markings that you can use to determine what gender cockatiel you have.
    In addition to the markings, you can use other methods to determine your cockatiel’s gender. Although you can choose to perform a DNA test, you can also use some behavioral tendencies to tell apart the hens (female birds) from the cocks (male birds).
    Immature birds may not have many behaviors to give you a clue on the gender so you typically will need to wait until 10-12 months of age. Some males, however, will be precocious and show song and courtship behavior early in their first year.

    Thankyou so much! still unsure tho.. my cockatiel is all white (albino I guess) but has no red eyes. Its eyes are black. He moves around and screams alot. I didn't raise him. I bought him second hand. He was 3 when I got him a years ago. Its eyes are black. It moves around and screams alot. It doesn't sing and makes angry noises when you try to pick it up. I try to do my best with it tho. I always thought he was a boy. But now I'm not sure.. can you help me?

    I had a cockatiel, and knew immediately it was a she, so I called her Honey because she was yellow, years later she laid eggs but she was a lone bird and didn't like company so she never bred, she lived a long happy life and I still miss her.

    • @RealityAlwaysWins
      @RealityAlwaysWins Před rokem

      @@georgeynoa2280 yeah she did, but nope it just stayed an egg, eventually it dried up and broke apart, what I felt most sorry for was the pain she had from laying it.

    So, what I thought was a an albino cockatiel, by the descriptions, I believe I have a white faced cockatiel. White, some grey feathers in the wings, black eyes. As far as the sex, we were told she was a female, she was only about 3-4 months old when we got her. What narrowed it down was the sound of her chirping. Although she did start mimicking tunes we whistled to her, her regular chirping sound definitely sound like the female sounds in the video.

    Hello please reply , my cockatiel, she/he (don't know gender so let's call her A she) makes heart wings, talks (she keeps saying her name repeatly , and says yes in our language (we say her name and yes alot so she learned it) she whistles, she makes up her own language, whistle + talking = nonsense etc etc, she makes the female screams that u showed in the video, she also have all dots over her wings , she is young, probably like 4 month old. Not weaned yet, she started talking and whistling at 3 months she is very active, moves alot and sometimes she makes the male sounds too but mostly female sounds that u showed, please reply.
