You can recore the top mount intercooler so it’s better than the old ARC top mounts.
You can have a front mount intercooler without cutting holes as well if you clock the turbo to face down instead of up you can route the piping that way and instead of cutting a hole where the battery is to come up you can just re direct the pipes and come underneath and up through the engine bay

Great to know this !! Especially the part about front mounted intercooler without cutting holes. I've heard they run a lot better with the front mount. Mine isn't in the best condition and I don't have the covers etc so something definitely to explore in the future

@@identitycarcare477 the upgraded core for the Top mount is pretty good but Top mounts always suffer a bit of heat soak. FMIC is usually going to be a simpler and better option the re cored TMIC cost a bit

Should be weekly episodes on this the whole of January, we have it pencilled it for a road trip so we have to get it running and road worthy. After that on the long term we'll be working in even more depth across all areas of the car to bring it back to it's former glory so there's a lot of content to come from this car

There's a red one a couple miles from me that Tommy owns 500bhp absolutely immaculate. I was speaking with him last week about it, he said it's a bit much of a handful to enjoy on the roads. I think mine needs set up on the Dyno tbh as it's been stroked to 2.1 with forged pistons but running standard injection rates. From what I've heard these cars are monsters even below 300bhp so I'm hoping I can get it set up and show you guys in this series

@@identitycarcare477 absolutely are sleepers thats savage aye ano the one you mean is it in Ayrshire if so a think a know of the guy who owns it has it done like 22,000 miles its mint ! Hes tryna sell it on fb marketplace he shouldn’t you just dont see pulsars anymore or old subarus pre 2006 a dont want a modern one coz tax is £700 a paid £1750 way a years mot bought from Cumbria needs a little welding or rear turrets but bar that cant complain 90% of its been undersealed subframe been replaced and undersealed before i bought my xt , thats what killed my previous s turbo forester subframe snapped shilst driving !

Yeah that's Tommy's. Think he said it's only covered 3 miles between last Mots. Never seen rain in the last 10 years. I have a 2004 blob eye scooby on the channel which will be making a return in the coming weeks. Unfortunately though it's reliable and I don't get much content from it 😂. I've been toying with getting a classic and getting torn in about some engine work as I've not got much experience with the flat 4 engines

@@andrewjohnson7960 Mine was imported 2018 I'm sure. It had a full paint job in Japan I think which wasn't the best, since I got it I've has both rear quaters, scoop, and back bumper painted. It's easy to forget 2004 was 20 years ago and they now need kept on top of to keep them in good condition.

Probably makes more financial sense to fix it but thanks for the comment all the same, We're always trying to improve the quality of the videos and the cars to cater for more people.
