Bastiodon wasn't even in a game that had body press in it. Hopefully, its movepool is expanded though

In BDSP, Body Press wasn’t a TM, so it was only Probopass who newly gained the move.
Odds are Bastiodon with be one of many to get Body Press by TM, but yeah it’s not guarenteed.

The swords of justice should all get sharpness as hidden abilities since they only have justified as abilities
Virizion would do some nice damage with those sharpness boosted dual stabs
I think justified mades more sense but you are right that would be nice
@@cameronmyers5716 Yeah, in Radical Red Virizion has Sharpness and it is kinda broken, so that would definitly buff Virirzion a lot

@@TyrantWeskercan confirm, there have been a lot of reports, most notably from the ppl who playtested the DLC early, that there will be such a way by paying Battle Points. Which is a great thing bc now we dont need to touch a pokemon’s data with PKHex and all that the average person will need that program for would be for getting items.
So while Trace objectively is a lot more situational, getting the treasures of Ruin abilities so porygon2 can ignore the offensive ruins dropping its defensive stats actually sounds really nice
I thought ruin abilities could affect other ruin mons (chien-pao affecting opposing chien-pao)?
@@goldoan it's for the defensive benefit. If porygon2 traces sword of Ruin then it will gain the ability to ignore it from the enemy and become a stronger wall for your side of the field in tandem with eviolite.

Adaptability Tera was nerfed, water bubble Tera will be as well. I’m sure it will still be very strong, but not that strong or else every team will be running Gastrodon.

Also how would Water Bubble be affected? The ability doesn’t increase STAB, it just doubles the base power of Water Type moves
@slimeonian nerfed as in they don’t stack and give you a 3x boost. They kept it at 2.25x so it wouldn’t be as broken. If they don’t nerf the way water bubble interacts with Tera then Araquanid will be Ubers.
Floral Healing isnt the same as Heal Pulse, it has a secondary effect that Showdown didnt show for some reason. It usually heals for 1/2 of the target's HP, but if you use on Grassy Terrain, it gets boosted to 2/3 instead
Wondering if Alcreme will have any viability with decorate and disruption moves like baby doll eyes, fake tears, charm and it's abilities to stop either sleep or stop taunt/encore

I have a feeling Whim, Shifu, and Harc paired together are gonna be terrifying.
@@TundraRage I dont think whim changes a lot about that core. I think you'd still prefer Torn there for the flying coverage against grass and fighting types
@@TundraRageI feel like Harc is going to be outclassed by Incin as the primary fire type of the format. Incin is bulkier and slower, but has way more tools as a support 'mon. Incin isn't a strictly better Harc, they're different, so Harc will still have a role on certain teams, but Incin will change how teams are built.
Bastiodon could absolutely get Body Press this gen, it's only not listed as having it in Showdown because it wasn't in Gen 8, where Body Press was introduced. Also, before anyone points it out, Probopass & Regigigas learned it naturally in BDSP, Body Press was not a TM in those games.

you literally HAVE to run a +spdf nature if you don't want to dump almost 150 evs into your spdf to deal with specs chi-yu.
or just use a rain team if you don't wanna commit ur tera idk
I’m still excited for the Sniper Kingdra Scope Lens set with Focus Energy, it’d be Regulation A Hydreigon but it hits even harder with Sniper boosts. Probably not better than the typical Swift Swim but it’s a thought.
I know everyone is dreading Incineroar's return, but I like him a lot just for his design and I am looking forward to using mine. I also fully expect Incineroar to have access to Raging Fury. Incineroar learns a lot of "Thrash" moves naturally, so why wouldn't he learn the Fire-type version? That's something to look out for over Flare Blitz.
It is basically a outrage, so it not worth it when your only hitting a random mon. Flare Blitz is better still.
Inci is both well loved and disliked cause it is the ultimate general support mon. Good luck trying to physical offensive down the opponent when intimidate comes flying every few turns then with the movepool it has it can also cause further havoc with fake-out and darkest lariat/lashing
I know it’s not been revealed yet, but the Entei paradox is going to be super good in my opinion.
Protosynthesis on a fire type who’s already going to be better in sun, and a Fire/Dragon type is only weak to rock and ground if I’m correct. Of course it might not be legal in VGC but still.

Marcus, I'm afraid to tell you that Timid Swift Swim Kingdra is still slower than Booster Energy Iron Bundle, by 9 points. It can still be good under Tailwind, though, or next to a Thunder Wave Grimmsnarl

I had a wacky idea of using metgross on a soft trick room team because of his use of rock polish so then he is fast in both trick room and the normal battle field
Something about bastiodon to note - it probably will get body press, it just doesnt have it on showdown because it missed gen 8 when the move was introduced

Araquanid is probably my number one returning mon I am hyped for. I know string shot would be more popular because it hits both targets for a two stage drop but pounce would be a way to avoid taunt while keeping some speed control, lunge and skitter smack are ways to decrease incoming damage and it is the second best water attacking mon in any non restricted format because water bubble is a busted ability. I think he's going to thrive with Tera around
Even without Dynamax I can't wait for the return of Bulldoze Raikou with WP Solgaleo (guess you can use Metagross too). One of my favorite sets to run. AV Raikou with Thunderbolt, Snarl, Bulldoze and Volt Switch
I was thinking smeargle with Hisuian Zoroark would be kind of wild even. In open team sheet. Since H Zoroark is immune to fake-out and can actually hit pretty hard and fast (especially next to Chi-Yu) it can bait fake outs or taunts and blow things up.
Depends on where you are in the ladder but true the spore is very threatening
In singles i played a zoroark passing as a breloom and i could feel that it stressed out the opponents even if it didn't do much i think with smeargle it could also get that effect even if then you must play 2 pokemons that are not the best but i'm sure it's very fun to play
I got H-Zoroark up to Masterball with like a 70% win rate in around 100 battles in regulation D with a hyper offense team. I am sure a lot of that came from playing closed team sheet best of 1, but honestly I think that pokemon is seriously under explored and has a lot more potential. I ran choice scarf with icy wind next to Chi-Yu and on hyper offense, having someone throw a fake out into something they think is Urshifu or Tornadus or something else can literally win games on it's own. The fact that even in open team sheets your opponent still has a guessing game is a lot more powerful than some people may think.

The mon I'm dreading is... Smeargle. He will get shed tail, salt cure, etc.
Here’s my take on smeargle. I don’t think it will be nearly as good as most people are saying it’s gonna be in regionals settings. I feel like one thing smeargle had behind it in previous gens was the element of surprise, no ots meant it could literally run anything and win you games off of surprise techs. I think that now with OTS it’s a lot harder to run because now your opponent knows exactly what it’s gonna do and how to possibly prevent it. In Global challenges however, I feel like smeargle will be a big as it always has been whenever it was allowed in previous generations.
I think that Primarina can also take Tera Fighting specifically for counters like Blissey and Empoleon or Tera Fire for Grass Types like Ferrothorn
+1 Bundle outspeeds Kingdra in Rain by 9 unfortunately, so does Flutter.
Although they don't run max Speed anymore, but I think especially against Flutter Kingdras still gonna suck, im gonna assume Kingdra does not OHKO Flutter with anything bar Choice Specs (Even then I don't think so) and is still gonna take a clean 50% form Shadow Balls.
I think the Bundle Matchup with Tera Steel is probably fine, but I see little hope against Flutter Mane. Kingdra seriously needs some Power to it, it feels like a BST 500 Mon to me.
EDIT Fucking Rush Excadrill in Sand is outsped by Bundle by 1. LMAO At least it outspeeds Flutter by 1. (With positive Matchup anyway KEKW)
Iron Bundle is a balanced Pokemon and is not perfectly min maxxed statwise

🤔 could have sworn that 1.5x booster bundle/flutter outsped kingdra in rain ... may have been confusing with the life orb 80(?)HP set with 180+ speed EVs. they still ohko without tera though which is a serious problem for kingdra enjoyers. tera steel resist all 3 weaknesses (fairy, dragon, 4x freeze dry), benefits from the rain, and also boosts flash cannon if you feel like running it for vs fairy
(i really wish speed booster energy was 1.3x like the rest of the stats)

flying tera metagross could probably work out alright too, lose the ground weakness, neutral to the rest of your weak moves and bullet punch and (almost definitely) earthquake will scare off any ice electric or rock lads
What if they give some of the other starters new hidden abilities like they did with empoleon? Meganium could really use a new ability, and so could sceptile honestly
King's Shield Smeargle wont be legal, as afaik, Aegislash is not available in game. it also gets Shed Tail too.

I think people are underestimating Reuniclus... Psyshock is huge because it absolutely RAVAGES Flutter Mane and doesn't particularly care about Assault Vest on Iron Hands. Tera Fairy helps it defensively while Tera Water also gives it more offensive coverage with Tera Blast.

Metagross with Tera sounds nice. They murdered my boy when they removed steel resists to ghost and dark. He was never the same after. Least they could have done is given him some set up potential or a recovery move. He's like the only pseudo that doesn't have a lollipop dance or some HP regen that isn't rest.

I just had this crazy thought, imgine if gamefreak gives the legendary beasts and the swords of justice their paradox forms' signature moves. May be a bit unbalaced, and not make much sence, but I feel like those pokemon would definitely benefit from it.

Incineroar may very well see the decline of Brian Hands not just because of Intimidate, but Hands is one of the handful of 'mons that the Heel naturally outspeeds meaning it can just Parting Shot in its face leaving it a -2 any time they face off
and no, Clear Amulet isn't a fix to that as without Assault Vest it loses its trademark mixed bulk leaving it much more vulnerable to Flutter and Friends
all down to upper hand distribution imo. upper hand gives it an edge against incin, but it just might not get it

@@randallsage2 I think its honestly fine for hands. Sure, Hands has a high attack stat, but what makes Iron Hands so good right now is its massive bulk and fakeout. You want to constantly be bringing it in and out when you have the chance to take hits and support the team.

I'm not 100% on this because I haven't use Primarina in a long while but I'm pretty sure it just gets energy ball in previous gens and and energy ball is not a widely distributed move as is, and I'll be more than a bit shocked if they decided to remove energy ball from it when it returns because of that fact

It has Inner Focus and Steadfast to either stop flinches or punish them
Also, justified could be cool for chi-yu snarl/dark pulse or wicked blow urshifu
It has bullet punch and e speed which could make it pretty good into flutter mane too
