- Solving the #Octordle for Monday, March 7th.
Octordle is like #wordle times 8! You have to solve eight words simultaneously, and each guess applies to all eight words.
Check out my channel for more puzzle solving! - Hry
Watching him miss number four being completely solved was so frustrating lol
exactly my thoughts
my favorite tactics for quordle (and octordle since today) is combination of words "flick", "broth", "geans" and "dumpy". It reveals 20 letters out of 26 leaving uncommons like QWZXJ and V. Maybe you can try it some day :)
Glent, brick, waqfs, vozhd, jumpy, this leaves you one guess per word
@@jeffcatgreeb7262 I just tried that, it works so well! Thanks for that, I think I might use it from now on
Just tried that on the infinite octordle, lead to 5 correct guesses instantly just from how many greens and yellows i got!
@@jeffcatgreeb7262 I have a streak of 13 in the original because of that
TUBES FLING CHAMP and WORDY do the same thing as well!!! Nice find. I wonder if there are more words like this.I've been creating lists of these 4-5 word combos.
Based off the logic of using “not as” common letters, try starting with Fancy!
That C would have been super helpful on this one
Maybe rhyme?
@@StroSolves how about locks?
What about xylem
Title: Trying a fancy new strategy
Ah man. The STRESS towards the end 🤣
I did this octordle just before I watched the video. I was really worried you wouldn’t get NICER as you kept skipping over it as though it was a ‘k’ 🤣🤣
Now you have no other choice but to try Sedecordle with 16 words! Gotta amp up those numbers :D
NOOOOOO
Hour long video incoming
too bad there's no wordle with 32 words
Oh god
Thought it was 21 words but guess not
I was shouting nicer to you for a solid 10 minutes! Super glad you got there in the end! 😅
Was he intentional missing it for content?
My favorite thing about Octordle is that it often leads to gambling for the last letter. The list of acceptable words is enormous. Vozhd, Wafqs, Mulct, Ennui or Pizza to name a few. Although the chances of it being an abstract word is slim to none, you never know when pizza might appear.
Bro says 4 words that doesnt even look english and classifies it the same as pizza
@@nazfx2648 yeah that was the point of fhe joke, If I am right
@@sumitrana2420 i know but i just thought it was funny to point it out lol
@@nazfx2648 actually it was funny to point out. So Nice👍
9:21 you can see fear in the man's eyes lmao
At this point it isn't long before he goes to his backyard and starts doing hurdles
I used to run hurdles in high school... 🤔
i think the logic of common vs uncommon letters is like guessing strategies in guess who
which in hindsight is kind of similar to this(guessing based off a limited knowledge pool)
if you guess narrow, you have a low acceptance result but if you do, you score big
but in broad guesses, you have a high acceptance rate, but it doesnt give you that much information
Hey Scott, I think you should try Wordle2. It’s like regular Wordle, but with 6 letters
Could just do Hello Wordl which goes from 4 to 11 letters
@@eboone That's good, tho I like daily words, instead of resetting every reload.
So wordle2 is a good way to go.
Hello wordle has a daily, but its only 5 letters. However, I honestly can't emphasize with all this daily word nonsense. I am into puzzles more so than words.
@@simonwillover4175 It is a puzzle, tho an easy one.
It's like the daily crossword. It the kind of game you play when you are just waking up.
@@simonwillover4175 qaa as a c cv
mom ml mmo mom lo was
my strategy is using “wands,” “clock,” “fight,” “jumpy,” and “breve” as test words, but if i get enough letters to reasonably guess one of the eight, i do that instead, but it uses all the letters but z, x, and q. it also tests for double e, the most common double letter and a double c
There’s a better way to do that. Try glent, brick, jumpy, vozhd. & waqfs. That way, you use everything but the x!
@@aguythephilosopher Yeah, that is a great strategy... however for me, it kind of takes the fun out of solving the puzzle! And vozhd and waqfs dont really seem like words even though they are. Thats why I use TUBES FLING CHAMP and WORDY, and I may try this guys suggestion!
@@huntzzio i do that too!! works wonders:-)
@@huntzzio yeah it does save you a guess but using waqfs and vozhd like a 95% efficient way to beat wordle, quordle, or octordle (I don’t use it for wordle though). You’re right when you say the fun is sucked out though
i used flick boxes GRAVY thump now i use flick boxes ANGRY thump
For Octordle the best starting four are: adieu, storm, pluck and bhang in my opinion. I got 6 octordles in a row using this
The objective best are
CHAMP
FLING
WORDY
TUBES
(No repeated letters and uses 20/26 most common alphabet letters, leaving only Q,J,K,Z,X,B)
I never lose Quordle, Octordle or anything higher than that with that starting combo
The website would be 100x better if it had the words side-to-side like you have on display. Right now it feels practically unusable.
Agree 1000%. The only way I could get it to work was to zoom out to 33% on my 4K monitor.
I was screaming "NICER!!!!" for like 2 minutes.
its so weird seeing him not used to this, when nowadays scott can go crazy on multiple different wordles at once
When you forgot the letter C existed I thought we were gonna finally see you fail a puzzle
But it is your superior puzzle abilities we are talking about so I was wrong lol
I was so afraid when he said “N, I, Something, E, R”
yeh he was really avoiding it
You should try Squardle, it's so much fun!
My Strat on Octordle is to go for whatever word has the most grays so I can knock out as many letters as possible
Not a bad idea
Been waiting for this one :) love your videos and you should try globle next
Or dordle and lewdle
I started with audio and I got audio first try and I got so happy!! I got 8/8 but I was really stuck with amble. I also love your puzzle videos, they are always so fun to watch after I do the daily challenges.
Self Imposed Quordle/Octordle: Same rules as Wordle hard mode and you have to solve them one at a time, in order
Hey, really like your content! As constructive criticism, on these longer videos, it might be good to lower the background music volume a bit, it muffles your voice, and your commentary is very good!
Thanks for the feedback. I've actually debated whether to keep the background music on the longer videos. Maybe have some music at the beginning and then fade it out or something?
@@StroSolves I quite like the background music, I don’t think it’s too loud at all I think it just adds some extra interest
@@StroSolves leave the music. I love it. perfect volume
I watched the vid in its entirety and never once noticed the music overpowering his excellent commentary.
@@StroSolves i love the music it’s very relaxing, but i agree it’s a little loud
This was brilliant to watch! You are very talented
Do sedecordle (16 words) and squardle (square wordle!)
Squardle is my favorite of all the wordle parodies
Thanks for introducing me to this, Thanks!
Played a few games are watching this video and it is really fun!
I always started with "pilot" and "gamer" and "husky" as third if I didn't get something after the first two.
I hope you will do more of this although it doesn't fit in shorts. It's really entertaining to watch and guess along.
You definitely just won a new subscriber!
PS: If you want you could try and use these three starting words as challenge.
That exert was a life saver! Great thinking there 👍👍👍
I was screaming “SERIF!!” about three mins in hahaha
I was screaming nicer ;)
Octurdle is actually pretty easy. As your 4 first guesses, try and use words that cover most of the alphabet. For example, 'rough', 'tales', 'picky' and 'demon'. Then you should have enough information to guess atleast 1 out of the 8 of them. After each guess, you get more information and should be able to find another one that you can guess until you've guessed all 8 ( with 1 guess left over in case you make a mistake). I stopped playing it because it became too formulaic
When you were doing the check with "exert" you could have guessed something like "treck" which would have eliminated and shown a lot of possibilities
With octordle there is a button to set a widescreen and it could be easier
This is what happens when you forget that the letter C exists.
Here's my strategy for octordle: all letters except q can be checked with chunk, waltz, gymps, fjord, vibex after each check if a word is obvious, if yes, use that, if not continue with another word, works every time
Very close one! Even I got nervous towards the end. Love watching these!
Not me staring at the screen yelling “piano”constantly until he guessed it hahahaha
2:27 I love how the green letters spell ERP.
Now you have to do Sedecordle! (I promise, it's fun!)
wow i could not imagine trying to do this, i would just get overwhelmed. good job!
its actually easy! guess fjord, quick, nymph, waltz, and gybes and you will have all of the letters most of the time.
@@simonmccroskey906 well i feel like that might take the fun out of the game but i’ll try it. thank you!
I think a good suggestion would be starting with some of the words from the previous day since there is plenty to choose from
I'd like to see you attempt hardmode rules on Octordle. Obviously it's not possible for each, so you would have to pick one of the eight to conform to.
I loved knowing Audio was one of the answers, having done the puzzle prior
That was some good unintended dramatic irony. 😆
I got 7 out of 8 cause I said Ample instead of Amble and didn’t have a guess left over for the last word, which was undue for me
This was a banger and hard keep it up 👍
try starting with
WHINE
FROST
JUMPY
BLACK
this uses almost everything except d and g
so i like to follow up with DINGY sometimes as well
Tubes, fling, champ, wordy is a really good start. I don’t use it for wordle because it takes the fun out of it but for quordle and octordle I use it.
I was screaming "nicer" for sooo loooongggg, impressive work tho!!!
You should try sedecordle and Dordle. 16 words in 21 guesses and 2 words in 7 guesses
im still amazed at how smart you are and how you think so clearly
I didn’t even realise I watched this for 20 minutes!
i kept shouting "nicer!! NICER!" in my head 😂 though good job! i could never do this
I just started doing this earlier this day because I saw someone say to do it in your comments and it is really fun
You are such an underrated ytber
I saw nicer after you tried exert and I was so stressed out like « Noooo don’t type in Niger, look at the keyboard for other unused letters »
He guessed NINER before NICER, haha! That's ok, you're doing great regardless. Love your content.
If you want great starting words for Octordle start with "pound, fight, reams, and lucky"
The only letters those don't get are "qwjzxvb" most of which wont show up in a lot of words
Octordle rescue can be incredibly challenging
omg i was screaming for nicer for the longest! great job on the clutch!
My first 3 words in quordle and octordle are always "Party", "Cough", and "Slide". It does me a lot of good!
I guess STEAM, PROUD, & CLING on Octordle and can get all 8 almost every time from just those 3, aka a consistent 11-guess round
i usually start with soare and then improvise. i do use mirth as the second guess often
I also did it using all 13 guesses!
01:28 doge: **squeaks**
i’ve actually been so addicted to octordle the last 2 days
You should try Heardle, Moviedle, and Herdle!!! Also my favorite starting word are Those, Drink, and Clump! I love your videos, keep it up! 😁🎥💜
8:03 If you need to type in a word with U, about is a good one maybe.
u make amazing vids
After octordle, i suggest you to try hexadecordle , wordle but 16 words at once
Try using these four words in your next Octordle video: SOUND, GRIFT, BLACK, HEMPY
i always chose “candy” as my first word and “lover” as my second !
really helps solve the words for me : )
Try starting with sonar, that’s what I use
You should try polydle, you can pick as many words as you want
Could you space out the boxes a little more, it gets confusing for the ones right next to each other
15:30 I’ve been yelling _exact_ at my screen for like two minutes, and then I remembered _nicer_ is also a word.
I always use audio as a starting word and was lucky with this octordle
You should play SEDECORDLE. It is 16 words in 21 tries. I usually use Fling, Champ, Tubes, and Wordy. I use that for all but wordle and crosswordle
Try out the Bloozy word game!
After your second overall guess, I knew SERIF would be correct.
As others have said, I think this means you've got to try sedecordle now. Wordle, but you're solving 16 five-letter words at once, within 21 guesses.
Was realy entertaining to watch
Request: Duotrigordle.
I’m halfway through the video right now (9:00) and for the second one my initial guess was serif. I still don’t know though and i’m excited to find out!
What would be your ideal 10-15 characters to search? I've got an algorithm which will see if a word combo exists for those letters
Sedectordle is 16 wordles at once try it if you haven't
He was so close to saying the n word so many times, he is a G for not slipping up 🤣
I was screaming at him that nicer is a word but he did realise
Mucky was a word that I thought would've went well around when you discovered miner and modem as possibilities.
Hey Scott, move your content. You should check out Canuckle, the Canadian version of Wordle!
You should try wordle 2! Its just wordle with 6 letters you can play it on your shorts
You should play sedecordle which is like octordle but times 2 aka 16 words. Its super fun
Avoiding L is great since it could be used as a forth starting word
I was losing my mind over nicer I’m ngl
For wordle I use the words guiro and fable and it's pretty good. You should try it
My fave start for Octordle is
DARES
POINT
LUCKY
I was honestly going to suggest to you that you do the octordle today because I really enjoyed today's, but I figured it might be too late to get together a video. I was tricked by ENDUE, but managed to get it in the max. I didn't know the word AMBLE before today. Also I doubt NIGER is in the pool of words, but it's in most dictionaries so I bet they aren't checking the pool for whether or not it's a word but an external dictionary.
I believe amble actually comes from the same word that ambulance comes from, since ambulance originally meant 'walking hospital' (or mobile hospital).
Niger is apparently an Ethiopian herb. I first guessed it could be a monetary unit of Niger but they actually use the "West-African CFA Franc" (together with Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal and Togo, of course).
You should try absurdle if you haven't yet
5:02 I mean, bottom left right looks like Piano, what else could that o be at the end?
You should do worldle it’s basically wordle but guessing countries.
I was screaming nicer for so long
